Actor Sonu Sood prays for 'happiness', 'prosperity' at Lord Venkateswara temple
Tirumala (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 2 (ANI): Bollywood actor Sonu Sood visited Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala to offer prayers on Monday morning.
The temple, dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, considered an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is one of the most visited religious sites in India, attracting millions of devotees annually.
While speaking to ANI after offering prayers at the temple, the 'Fateh' actor shared details about his upcoming project and recalled his first visit to the Lord Venkateswara temple 25 years ago.
"When I came here for the first time, it was 25 years ago. Today, I come here with my family. I pray for happiness, peace and prosperity for all in the world. We are starting a new project, a film 'Nandi' - I am acting and directing both. It will begin soon," said Sonu Sood.
The actor donned a peach pink Kurta for his holy visit to the Lord Venkateswara Temple.
Sonu Sood was recently honoured with a prestigious Humanitarian Award at the Grand Finale of the 72nd Miss World Festival in Telangana for his philanthropic work during COVID-19.
This special honour recognises his exceptional service to humanity and unwavering commitment to social upliftment through his foundation.
The actor was conferred the Humanitarian Award on the grand finale of Miss World at the HITEX Arena in Hyderabad as part of the festival's final celebrations.
In addition to receiving this global honour, Sonu Sood also served as one of the official judges for the grand finale, joining a distinguished panel to crown the next Miss World. (ANI)

Vijay Deverakonda Faces Complaint Under SC/ST Act Over Alleged Tribal Remarks
Hyderabad: A complaint has been filed against actor Vijay Deverakonda under the SC/ST Act for allegedly making remarks that hurt the sentiments of the tribal community. The complaint, lodged by Nenavath Ashok Kumar Naik, the State President of the Joint Action Committee of Tribal Communities, claims that Deverakonda's comments during a pre-release event for the movie 'Retro' were offensive and insulted the tribal community. The case has been registered at the Raidurgam Police Station in Cyberabad, and an investigation is underway. According to the police FIR Copy, "On 17.06.2025 at 10:30 hours, received a complaint from Nenavath Ashok Kumar Naik Alias Ashok Rathod, Caste: ST(Rathod), Occu: State President, Joint Action Committee of Tribal Communities....., which reads as follows. Brief facts of the case are that on 26.04.20225, Film Actor Shri Vijay Deverakonda, who participated in the pre-release event of the movie 'Retro' starring Hero Surya, made comments that hurt the sentiments of the tribals and seriously insulted them." As per People magazine, in a recent interview, the 62-year-old actor, who won a defamation lawsuit against Heard in 2022, reflected on the personal and professional fallout from the trial, including the people he felt turned their backs on him during one of the most challenging periods of his life. Depp's legal battle with Heard stemmed from an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018, where she spoke out about domestic abuse, though she did not directly name Depp. According to People magazine, after a lengthy trial in Virginia, Depp was awarded USD 10 million in damages, and Heard received USD 2 million on one of her counterclaims. The public scrutiny from the trial, combined with the media's intense focus on the allegations, left Depp questioning the loyalty of those around him.
