EXCLUSIVE Steps popstar Faye Tozer 'ends 16-year marriage and moves out of marital home leaving husband heartbroken' - as he shares slew of cryptic posts
The husband of Steps idol Faye Tozer has sparked fears for their 16-year marriage after posting a cryptic post about his heartbreak.
The nineties pop legend and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant appeared to be living a seemingly idyllic life with Michael and their teenage son in a quiet village near the northeast coast.
But now, MailOnline has been told the 'Strictly curse' has struck again, albeit belatedly - and Faye moved out of the family home in South Tyneside just weeks before Christmas.
When MailOnline approached businessman Mick this week he said: We're going through some things and trying to work some stuff out. That's all I will say.'
Faye, 49, had previously jokingly styled herself as 'Mrs Smith' and said of younger Michael - known to friends as Mick - that he is 'my husband, my rock, my best friend and my partner in crime '.
But just days after celebrating Faye's birthday in a gushing post on Instagram, Mick, 43, her second husband signalled that the relationship could be breaking down posting on social media.
The post read: 'I met you when I was not looking for you and lost when I loved you the most.'
A day later, he shared a picture of Banksy's famous broken heart with a plaster labelled 'closed for repairs'.
A source said: 'It is really sad. She was on Strictly Come Dancing seven years ago and we were all a bit concerned because of the famous so-called 'curse' on the programme [inspired by the number of contestants whose relationships have broken up shortly after appearing].
'But Faye and Mick sailed through that and seemed even stronger as a couple after it.
'They seemed a really solid couple right up to the moment Faye left.
'It just seemed to happen out of the blue. They always used to be so lovely, both really nice people. It's such shame.'
A neighbour said: 'Faye and Michael haven't been doing the simple things that they enjoyed together around here for so long.
'They were regulars in our local pub, which they used to be in together all the time, and you'd also see them around the village happily walking their two dogs together.
But Faye has not been seen around here for months now so we started to work out that she was no longer living there.
'Then people started to worry about Michael in particular after some of his social media activity - he posted a picture of a broken heart which was 'closed for repairs' and a really sad message with it.
'If the marriage is in trouble, it's really sad as they were such a great couple.'
Faye and Michael - who share a son and married at Beamish Hall, County Durham, in December 2009 - survived the 'Strictly curse' when she appeared on the show in 2018, partnering Giovanni Pernice.
She and the pro dancer were photographed together having what was termed a 'flirty' lunch to celebrate her 43rd birthday.
In the pictures the pair appear to gaze into each other's eyes and Giovanni reaches out a hand across the table to touch her face.
Michael responded to speculation about their marriage by posting on social media: 'So proud of @Faye_Tozer it's been another tough week on and off the pitch but we do what we do and march on as a team.'
Asked about Strictly's marriage-wrecking reputation, Faye said: 'I think it's down to the individual couples, for us we have a real marriage.
'We have been married for nine years and we've always worked away from each other. I've always toured. The fact I was on Strictly doesn't change anything for us. We are solid.'
Faye's first marriage to Danish rock drummer Jasper Irn, 59, came to an abrupt end after 10 years together.
The couple, who married in 2002 in Dunstable, Beds, were married for five years, but Jasper claimed the end was swift.
In a 2018 interview he said: 'She became cold and distant to me and suddenly, after almost 10 wonderful years together, everything started falling apart.
'One day she told me, 'I've had enough. I don't want to see you anymore'. I was shocked.'
He added: 'I was young and stupid. I think Faye wanted me to fight for her.
'We began living separate lives. One day she told me, 'I've had enough. I don't want to see you anymore'. Looking back, I should have told her, 'We are married and we are staying married'. Instead, I turned and walked away. A huge mistake.'
Faye became a household name 30 years ago after her astonishing success with manufactured high tempo pop act Steps.
They scored two No1 singles and three chart-topping albums, with pop mogul Pete Waterman pulling the strings, sold more than 20 million records worldwide.
The singer is about to join the cast of Diamonds and Dust at the Emerald Theatre in London's West End, alongside burlesque queen Dita Von Teese.
She will play Miss Kitty LeRoy in the show's world premier, which begins on June 16th.

Shaughna Phillips shows off her bump on Love Island AfterSun as Maya Jama congratulates the former contestant on her pregnancy
Shaughna Phillips showcased her bump on Love Island AfterSun on Sunday, hours after announcing she is pregnant. The former islander, 31, who is also a mother to Lucia, two, looked radiant as she appeared as a special guest on the ITV 2 spin off show. To discuss her her happy news, the blonde beauty wore an elegant white wrap dress. Appearing alongside Demi Jones, Shaughna was congratulated by host Maya Jama after she revealed she is expecting her second child. Walking over to the two guests, Maya said: 'Hello, congratulations are in order, Shaughna!' The host continued: 'I mean amazing. Baby number two?' which the blonde beauty replied. 'two, here you go and busy!'. Taking to Instagram earlier on Sunday, Shaughna revealed she was expecting as she posted a video of herself taking a pregnancy test and showed off her growing bump. She also shared a sweet video of her daughter Lucia wearing a t-shirt saying 'Big Sis' and 'In my big sister era' to go with the announcement. Shaughna did not reveal who the father of her baby is as she wrote: 'Adding a little more love to our family…' Following the birth of her daughter Lucia in April 2023, Shaughna's boyfriend of four years, Billy Webb, 29, was sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply 4.5kg of cocaine worth at least £360,000. However Shaughna revealed in November that the father of her little girl had been released after serving only 12 months of his sentence and the family reunited to enjoy a Christmas grotto together. The blonde bombshell has been very open with her fans throughout the ordeal and previously revealed on her podcast Oh, Baby with Shaughna and Holly that she had struggled to come to terms with the situation. She said: 'It's the most gut-wrenching position to be in. Taking to Instagram on Sunday , Shaughna revealed she was expecting as she posted a video of herself taking a pregnancy test and showed off her growing bump 'And, I mean, before I even answer this question, I want to just put it out there that you can judge me all you want, but please don't let me know, because I feel like unless you've been in this position you can't really have an opinion on it. 'Because before I was in this position, before I had a baby, if you had asked me would I ever, ever take my child into a prison, the answer would be absolutely not. Anyone that does that is crazy. 'And then, lo and behold, I'm now in this position. And I think the thing is, we're always going to be co-parents. 'And I know that me and my dad had the best relationship ever, and to me, my dad is the best person in the world. 'And I don't want Lucia to think differently of her father. I would never, ever stop him from seeing her, ever.' Sharing an adorable video to her Instagram announcing he had been released, the reality star revealed that she and her partner had taken Lucia to see Santa and added she never thought this day would come. She captioned the clip: 'If you had told me this time last year, that me and Billy would be taking Lucia to see Santa next Christmas, I probably wouldn't have let myself believe you 'The best couple of days, this Christmas is going to be so special'. The star also revealed to MailOnline that she had struggled raising her daughter as a single mother. She said: 'Having a newborn baby, hormones are all over the place and I was just struggling' 'Anyone who's had kids they'll probably say that when they're a newborn it's easiest because they just lie there and need to be fed but as they get older and they can talk back and say no... It's exhausting.'

Kelsey Parker said her third pregnancy made her realise 'how precious life was' following the death of husband Tom, shortly before her son was tragically ' born sleeping' a week before her due date. The podcaster, 34, revealed the devastating news in a heartbreaking Instagram post on Sunday and confirmed she and boyfriend Will Lindsay had named the tot Phoenix. Kelsey, is also mother to Aurelia, five, and Bodhi, four, with late The Wanted singer who died in March 2022 after losing his battle with brain cancer aged just 33. She told OK! 'I know that sounds clichéd, but it's true. I just want to enjoy every moment of it with Will. When I fell pregnant with Aurelia, I thought I had my life set'. 'I had the perfect life – I'd been with Tom since the age of 19 and had everything sorted. Then my world got flipped upside down and I think that teaches you how precious life is.' Kelsey announced the tragic loss of her third child, her first with boyfriend Will with a heartfelt poem, which she captioned: 'Phoenix Parker-Lindsay, you will forever be loved'. The poem read: 'The world grew quiet as you arrived, So loved, so longed for, yet not alive. Our precious boy, our angel light, Born with wings, took silent flight'. 'We named you Phoenix, brave and bright. A soul of love, of warmth and light Though we never heard you cry, You'll live in hearts that won't ask why. No breath you drew, no eyes to see, Still, you mean everything to me. You'll journey with us, softly near, In every sigh, in every tear.' Later taking to her Instagram Stories she wrote: 'Before I receive an influx of lovely messages and heartfelt wishes, I wanted to just say that I truly appreciate everything you are all going to say and share'. 'But with the news being so raw, I would really like to ensure that we as a family are given space and time to process this devastating and earth-shattering news'. Before adding: 'I love you all and thank you for your understanding and space. Love always, Kelsey, Will, and the Parker Family'. Fans and famous friends rushed to the comments to offer their condolences to Kelsey and Will, with Kate Ferdinand commenting: 'Oh Kelsey, I'm so sorry. While Faye Winter said: 'I'm so sorry, sending all my love to you, Will and the family': and Giovanna Fletcher added: 'A beautiful name for a beautiful soul. I'm so sorry for your loss Kelsey. Xxx'. Later taking to her Stories she wrote: 'Before I receive an influx of lovely messages and heartfelt wishes, I wanted to just say that I truly appreciate everything you are all going to say and share' Fans and famous friends rushed to the comments to offer their condolences to Kelsey and Will The tragic news comes just days after Kelsey showed off her baby bump as she joined her eldest children at a screening of Disney Pixar's Elio in London. The TV personality also shared her appreciation for her boyfriend, Will, earlier this month, after previously revealing her third pregnancy was a 'happy accident'. Taking to Instagram she gushed she was 'full of gratitude' for her partner and thanked him for his help with her young children. Appreciation post. I know you're not a fan of being on my social media, but I can't help it—this moment deserves to be shared. 'We're just a month away from meeting our baby, and I'm so full of gratitude. Thank you for everything you do—for me and for the kids. 'We love and adore you more than words can say I can't wait to start this next chapter with you. 'Honestly, I think you're going to find the newborn stage a breeze after handling a 5 and 4-year-old!'. Kelsey was left devastated after husband Tom lost his battle with brain cancer, but found love again last year, meeting Kent tree surgeon Will on a night out and announced their romance in September. Kelsey revealed she has been getting a lot of hate online but her new partner has been very supportive and told her to 'block out the haters'. Speaking on ITV's Lorraine, in their first joint interview together in March, she explained: 'It's been three years, this is Tom's three year anniversary of his death and it's almost like people want me to feel guilty for moving on.' During the interview Kelsey asked Will: 'Does it stress you out that I get upset about trolls and people commenting on our relationship?' Will replied: 'Not really, I just tell you not to look at them don't I. There's bound to be some people sending nice messages but block out the haters.' Kelsey revealed she has been getting a lot of hate online but her new partner has been very supportive and told her to 'block out the haters' (Pictured with Tom and their kids 2020) She added: 'I'm always going to have guilt but what's so hard is that Tom's not here anymore so what do people want me to do?', 'Our house was full of so much sadness but now it's full of happiness, the kids deserve that more than anything. 'They've been through so much, I feel like we are taking the steps forward to heal but I just want other women to feel like it's OK to move on, it's not taking anything away from the love I had for Tom.' Kelsey also opened up about the impact meeting Will has had on her life and how trolls don't 'understand how she feels' because they are not in her shoes. She said how her new partner lives with her at the home she shared with Tom and the kids, remarking how he 'gradually moved in' when the time 'felt right'. Kelsey also revealed she has been bombarded with online abuse after confirming her pregnancy. She told The Sun: 'I think people think I should be sitting at home and dressed in black all day. I have two children (and another one on the way) that I have to get out of bed for. People are shocked I go to Tesco but I need to feed my kids.'

Fern Britton admits she has 'mixed emotions' on former This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield as she addresses his exit from television amid their long-running feud
Fern Britton has addressed Phillip Schofield 's departure from This Morning and reflected on their time hosting the show together after their falling out. The 67-year-old anchored the ITV programme alongside Schofield, 63, for seven years before quitting in 2009. Ahead of her departure, the pair famously fell out and haven't spoken since, with Phil previously claiming in his autobiography their relationship was 'beyond repair'. It was claimed at the time she felt 'undervalued by ITV' and that she was 'living in Phil's shadow'. Now 15 years on, Fern said she had 'great fun' hosting This Morning with her former pal whilst speaking about his own controversial exit. Speaking to Saga Magazine, she said: 'It brought up a lot of mixed emotions. The 67-year-old anchored the ITV programme alongside Schofield, 63, for seven years before quitting in 2009 'The years we worked together were mostly great fun and we were a very good partnership, which I can remember with fondness. 'I knew how much he loved his job and cared deeply for his public perception. It must have been a terribly difficult time for him and his family.' In 2022, Fern ended their long-running feud when she congratulated Schofe in a video message to celebrate his 40th anniversary in television. Last year the mum-of-four returned to screens, appearing on Celebrity Big Brother alongside Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne. Phillip stepped down from This Morning and subsequently all TV projects after he admitted to an 'unwise but not illegal' affair with a 20-year-old crew member on the daytime show. Holly Willoughby, who took over hosting duties on This Morning from Fern, released a statement at the time saying she had felt 'hurt' by his 'lies'. Holly stepped down from presenting This Morning after 14 years on the show due to a terrifying kidnap threat and subsequently took time out from the spotlight. Phillip is also said to have called Holly 'The Witch' following the pair's departure from their presenting roles. Tensions between the pair reached further heights when Phil boldly declared there were 'three s**ts' at ITV on his Channel 5 show Cast Away. The pair used to be best friends, with their families even taking annual holidays together, but the bitter feud appears to have been reignited. Phillip is said to have told Holly that she 'brought him down' before he resigned from This Morning. Meanwhile, last week Phillip was making the most of the warm summer weather as he took his dog for a walk in west London on Wednesday. He cut a casual figure in the outing in a light blue shirt and a pair of cream knee-length shorts.
