
NTT DATA Research Reveals C-Suite Misalignment Over GenAI Adoption
NTT DATA, a global leader in digital business and technology services, today launched its new report, 'The AI Security Balancing Act: From Risk to Innovation,' highlighting the opportunities and risks AI presents in cybersecurity. The findings show a misalignment among C-Suite leaders when it comes to business goals and operational readiness for GenAI deployment.The report, which includes data from an NTT DATA survey of more than 2,300 senior GenAI decision makers, comprising 1,500 *C-Suite leaders across 34 countries, found that while CEOs and business leaders are committed to GenAI adoption, CISOs and operational leaders lack the necessary guidance, clarity and resources to fully address security risks and infrastructure challenges associated with deployment.The C-Suite disconnectNearly all (99%) C-Suite executives are planning further GenAI investments over the next two years, with 67% of CEOs planning significant commitments.In parallel, 95% of CIOs and CTOs report that GenAI has already driven, or will drive, greater cybersecurity investments, with organizations ranking improved security as one of the top three business benefits realized from GenAI deployment in the last 12 months.Yet, even with this optimism, there is a notable disconnect between strategic ambitions and operational execution with nearly half of CISOs (45%) expressing negative sentiments toward GenAI adoption. More than half (54%) of CISOs say internal guidelines or policies on GenAI responsibility are unclear, yet only 20% of CEOs share the same concern – revealing a stark gap in executive alignment.Despite feeling cautious about the deployment of GenAI, security teams still acknowledge its business value. In fact, 81% of senior IT security leaders with negative sentiments still agree GenAI will boost efficiency and impact the bottom-line.Organizational operations not ready for GenAINTT DATA's research further reveals a critical gap between leadership's vision and the capabilities of their teams. While 97% of CISOs identify as decision makers on GenAI, 69% acknowledge that their teams lack the necessary skills to work with the technology.In addition, only 38% of CISOs say their GenAI and cybersecurity strategies are aligned compared to 51% of CEOs.Adding to the complexity, 72% of organizations surveyed still lack a formal GenAI usage policy and just 24% of CISOs strongly agree that their organization has a robust framework for balancing risk with value creation.Legacy tech limiting GenAI adoptionBeyond internal misalignment, 88% of security leaders said legacy infrastructure is greatly affecting business agility and GenAI readiness, with modernizing IoT, 5G and edge computing identified as essential for future progress.To navigate these obstacles, 64% of CISOs are prioritizing co-innovation with strategic IT partners rather than relying on standalone AI solutions. Notably, security leaders #1 top criteria when assessing GenAI technology partners is end-to-end GenAI service offerings."As organizations accelerate GenAI adoption, cybersecurity must be embedded from the outset to reinforce resilience. Iran hacks Israeli home security cameras in intelligence operation

The war between Iran and Israel is now in its second week. The story makes me worry again about how protection holes are being used during current Franco, who used to be the deputy head of Israel's National Cyber Directorate, went on public radio to tell people: "Shut down your home security cameras or change your passwords immediately." This was in response to recent Iranian ballistic missile attacks that damaged several high-rise buildings in Tel who is now the CEO of cybersecurity crisis company Code Blue, said that Iranian agents have been trying to get into internet-connected surveillance systems over the past few days to check how accurate rocket hits are and make plans for future attacks. The conflict between Israel and Iran has spread to online, where attacks are getting stronger along with real attacks. A group of hackers supporting Israel called Predatory Sparrow said they were behind recent hacks that shut down a major Iranian bank and got into a local bitcoin exchange. In reaction, IRIB, Iran's state television, said that Israel had started a large-scale hack on Iran's most important assets. As part of Iran's strategy operations, the National Cyber Directorate of Israel stated that there have been more efforts to break into linked devices, especially security cams. The Iranian government recently said that they had seized 14 drones, found secret companies that made drones, and stopped cars carrying robotic aircraft in several people were arrested in Lorestan Province on suspicion of working as Mossad spies. They were accused of sharing anti-government material online and stirring up Iranian intelligence broke up what they thought was an explosives production cell that was working in Alborz and Isfahan Provinces. The cell was apparently led by a Mossad agent who was caught in with its military and defense measures, Iran has had strict rules on the internet ever since the fighting started. Access to a lot of websites has been blocked in whole or in part. The government has told people to use connected gadgets less and be aware of possible digital weaknesses. These events show that the online aspect of the conflict between Iran and Israel is getting worse. Public First: Google Contributed AED 21.8 Billion to the UAE Economy in 2024
Google announced today the launch of the Google's Economic Impact Report, a report conducted by Public First research agency, that looks at how Google products (Search, Play, Maps, YouTube and Google Ads) have helped people, local businesses, content creators and developers in the UAE throughout 2024. Around the world, Google releases Impact Reports which are based on consumer and business polling, economic modeling, case studies and third party data. The report highlights how Google's AI-powered tools and platforms are profoundly enhancing daily life and productivity for individuals and enterprises across the UAE, driving macroeconomic growth.
