"John Wick" Spinoff "Ballerina" Final Trailer Released

Yara Sameh
Ana de Armas' new John Wick spin-off is due in theaters in less than one month, and the spinoff just got its most thrilling new look yet.
Lionsgate has released a new trailer for "Ballerina", which hits theaters on June 6 and stars Armas as Eve Macarro, a Russian ballerina-turned-assassin with an eye for vengeance against the men who killed her family.
The film also returns franchise veteran Keanu Reeves to the role of John Wick, with other stars such as Ian McShane and the late Lance Reddick reprising their roles as Winston and Charon, respectively. Norman Reedus, best known for his role in The Walking Dead, will also star in Ballerina.
The new footage features several new scenes and footage of both Armas' Eve and Reeves' John Wick, including one showing John eyeing Eve with a sniper.
'Ballerina' takes place between 'John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum' and 'John Wick: Chapter 4,' expanding the assassin role originally played by Unity Phelan with de Armas' take on the character.
The film comes two years after audiences saw Reeves in the fourth entry, which became the highest-grossing installment in the series with a worldwide gross of over $440 million. Altogether, the first four 'John Wick' films grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
This latest installment in the 'John Wick' universe marks another turn from de Armas as an action star following her roles in 'No Time to Die' with Daniel Craig and 'Ghosted' alongside Chris Evans.
In 2023, de Armas received her first Oscar nomination for her turn as Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik's 'Blonde.'
This isn't the first time 'John Wick' has ventured into spinoffs: the prequel miniseries 'The Continental,' starring Mel Gibson, released on Peacock back in September 2023.
'Ballerina' is directed by Len Wiseman ('Underworld') and written by Shay Hatten ('Army of the Dead').
Kaley Smalley Romo executive produces alongside Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski, who all produced the first four 'John Wick' films.
'Ballerina' releases in theaters June 6 from Lionsgate. Watch the new trailer below.

Russell Crowe, Henry Cavill Reunite for "Highlander" Reboot

Yara Sameh Russell Crowe is set to reunite with his "Man of Steel" co-star Henry Cavill for the remake of 'Highlander.' The Oscar-winner is set to play Cavill's mentor in a variation on the part played by Sean Connery in the 1986 original film. 'John Wick' director Chad Stahelski will helm the remake from a script by Michael Finch ('John Wick: Chapter 4'). 'Highlander' is backed by Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists, which is run by former Netflix film chief Scott Stuber. The film will open theatrically. Crowe was one of the biggest stars of the late '90s and 00s, appearing in action-heavy roles in the likes of 'Gladiator' and 'Master & Commander,' and earning critical raves for more dramatic work in 'The Insider,' 'A Beautiful Mind,' and 'L.A. Confidential.' In recent years, he's taken on more character parts in the likes of 'Kraven the Hunter' or starred in lower-budgeted movies such as 'The Pope's Exorcist' and 'Sleeping Dogs.' Crowe is next slated to play Hermann Göring, one of Hitler's most trusted allies, in James Vanderbilt's 'Nuremberg,' which Sony Pictures Classics will release in November. He also recently wrapped work on Netflix's 'Unabom,' which looks at the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski, as well as the Cold War thriller 'Billion Dollar Spy' and the action thriller 'Bear Country.' Stuber and Nick Nesbitt will produce 'Highlander' for United Artists alongside Neal H. Moritz, 87Eleven Entertainment, Stahelski's production banner, Josh Davis of Davis Panzer Productions, and Louise Rosner. United Artists has secured full rights to the 1986 original, which Lionsgate developed, with the potential to also develop a new series. The original film starred Christopher Lambert and centered on a group of nearly invincible, ageless warriors. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Aaron Guzikowski to Pen Script of "Death Stranding" Animated Adaptation

Yara Sameh Aaron Guzikowski (Raised by Wolves) has been tapped to write the screenplay for an adult-targeted animated feature inspired by Hideo Kojima's hit action-adventure video game "Death Stranding". The signing was announced by Japanese games maestro Hideo Kojima's Tokyo and L.A.-based Kojima Productions and L.A.-based animation company Line Mileage. The partners say the movie, which is currently in development, will be in a similar vein to adult-targeted, animated genre films such as the recently announced John Wick animated prequel and sci-fi horror Predator: Killer of Killers, which released this month on Hulu and Disney+. It will feature an original story unfolding in the universe of Death Stranding, set in the wake of a series of cataclysmic explosions around the world, which result in the dead and living becoming connected. Guzikowski has won praise for his emotionally charged storytelling, with credits including sci-fi show "Raised by Wolves" and 2013 abduction drama "Prisoners" directed by Denis Villeneuve. 'I love the world of Death Stranding, it's so creatively freeing, so beautifully dark and yet hopeful; I'm so excited and honored that Hideo Kojima, whose work I've long admired, has invited me to dwell within his creation, to birth new stories into this fertile, mind-bending universe,' said Guzikowski. 'Drawing and animation have always been near and dear to my heart, so to finally get to play in this space is a dream come true.' Directed by Kojima and featuring performances by Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Guillermo del Toro, Death Stranding has been credited with redefining the dramatic potential of video games. A new version of the original game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – adding Elle Fanning to the cast – is due out on June 26. The new animated feature project is separate from a previously announced live-action adaptation being developed by Kojima Production with A24. Line Mileage is the animation production company of partners Jacob Robinson (Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft), Daniel Dominguez (Seis Manos), and Brad Graeber (Castlevania). Specializing in adult genre storytelling across animation, the team brings deep experience in adapting IP across games, comics, and beyond. Line Mileage CCO Daniel Dominguez said the cinematic quality of Death Stranding meant the game lent itself well to an animated movie adaptation. 'As an avid gamer, I can say, unequivocally, Death Stranding is the most cinematic, thought-provoking video game I have ever played,' he said. 'Playing it gave me the same emotional rush, visceral punch, and intellectual pleasure I had the first time I watched Blade Runner, or Ghost in the Shell. Adapting it into a form it so naturally evokes is an honor. And for Aaron Guzikowski to lend his talents, whose authorial mind and creative energy humble me… needless to say, this project is a dream come true.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand
