T20 Mumbai League: MSC Maratha Royals beat SoBo Mumbai Falcons to clinch trophy
Mumbai (Maharashtra)[India], June 14 (ANI): SoBo Mumbai Falcons finished its batting essay on a high. The bowling unit then stretched the match right till the end. Still, the Falcons unfortunately had to settle with the runners-up trophy, with MSC Maratha Royals winning the T20 Mumbai league's final by six wickets and four balls to spare at the Wankhede Stadium.
After being asked to bat first, thanks to Mayuresh Tandel and Harsh Aghav's scintillating unbroken partnership of 85 runs off 49 balls, SoBo Mumbai Falcons put on a respectable total of 157 for four. Chinmay Sutar and Awais Khan rode their luck to steer the Royals home.
After being inserted into bat, Falcons had to bat first. The team got off to a sombre start, placed at 60 for three at the halfway stage. Captain Shreyas Iyer's reverse sweep in the 12th over proved costly, as Irfan caught him.
In came Harsh Aghav (45*, 28b, 1x4, 4x6) - the find of the tournament - and changed the complexion of the match along with Mayuresh Tandel (50*, 32b, 3x4, 3x6).
While the unbroken partnership was of 85 runs off 49 balls, Aghav, who was later adjudged as the Emerging Player of the Tournament, and Tandel plundered 53 runs off the last five overs.
The Falcons' spin army had then kept the spinners in check for most of the innings. Akash Parkar - the specialist death over specialist was introduced into the 16th over and bowled two accurate overs. The 67-run partnership between Awais Khan and Mayuresh Tandel was finally broken in the penultimate over, with left-arm spinner Kartik Mishra accounting for both of them.
With seven runs required from six balls, veteran allrounder Rohan Raje finished the game off.

Fit India Sundays on Cycle Pandharpur Edition 2025 sees over 5000 cyclists
Pandharpur, (Maharashtra) [India] June 22 (ANI): In a remarkable fusion of spiritual devotion, physical fitness, and environmental consciousness, the 4th Akhil Maharashtra Pandharpur Cycle Wari Sammelan - 2025 was celebrated with great fervour and unity, according to a release from Sai Media. The event was honoured by the esteemed presence of several dignitaries like Raksha Khadse, Union Minister of State for youth affairs and Sports J B Gore, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Govt of Maharashtra. Among others were Dhairyasheel Mohite Patil, MP, Prashant Paricharak, Member of Legislative Council, Ranjitsinh Mohite Patil, Member of Legislative Council, Pandurang Chate, IRS, Regional Director, Sports Authority of India, RC Mumbai & Amit Samarth, Renowned Endurance Cyclist & 19-time Ironman, Nagpur The Railway Ground, Pandharpur, was transformed into a vibrant centre of energy and inspiration under the Fit India - Sundays on Cycle banner. The event conveyed a powerful message promoting sustainable transport, community health, and spiritual unity, reinforcing that cycling is not just a sport but a way of life aligned with a healthier and greener India. Echoing the spirit of the Fit India Movement, the event promoted the national fitness mantra: 'Fitness Ka Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz' , encouraging every citizen to embrace physical activity as a daily habit and contribute to building a fitter, environmentally conscious nation. "We are making India a fitness powerhouse": Mansukh Mandaviya leads Fit India Sundays on Cycle
New Delhi [India], June 22 (ANI): The Fit India Sundays on Cycle event rolled out in full force at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Sunday in the presence of Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya. Organised in collaboration with Yogasana Bharat nationwide, the event in the national capital saw an inspiring lineup of athletes and celebrities, including actress and newly inducted Fit India Ambassador Mia Maelzer, Olympian racewalker Priyanka Goswami, former Indian women's hockey captain Rani Rampal, taekwondo champion Rodali Barua, and Indian actress Madhurima Tuli, who is also a Fit India icon. The cycling event came on the heels of the International Yoga Day, which was celebrated on June 21. Addressing mediapersons, Mandaviya said, 'This Sunday's cycling is even more special. Yesterday, yoga events were held across 6,000+ locations nationwide, and over one crore people participated across 10 lakh+ venues. 'Under Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision, Fit India has become a movement. When we put even one pedal in the cycle forward, we are making India a fitness powerhouse. The Fit India Sundays on Cycle event saw a 5000-strong capacity in Pandharpur, Maharashtra; the event was graced by Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse. A total of 90 cycling clubs took part in the rally. 'The Pandharpur Fit India Sundays on Cycle symbolises Hon'ble Prime Minister's message of 'Vikas Bhi Virasat Bhi aur Fitness Bhi',' mentioned Khadse. Actress Mia Maelzer, meanwhile, expressed excitement on attending the event in New Delhi. ' There's nothing more fulfilling than doing something meaningful for my country. When I cycled today, I felt like flying-- it was a total butterfly moment! It's not just about staying fit, it's also an answer to climate change, especially for Delhi. "India will miss his energy, positivity, and aggression": RCB head coach Andy Flower reflects on Virat Kohli's test retirement
Rishikesh (Uttarakhand) [India] June 22 (ANI): Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) head coach Andy Flower reflected on Indian veteran batter Virat Kohli's retirement from test cricket. He felt 'Men in Blue' would miss Kohli's energy, positivity, and aggression on the field, but also said 'India are lucky' that they have lots of young talent. Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket on May 12, marking an end to an illustrious 14-year career which saw him dominate a variety of conditions, regions, and opponents, both as a batter and captain. While speaking to ANI, Andy Flower said, 'I think it will have on the Indian team, not only his (Kohli's) runs, but his energy, positivity, and aggression. It is always nice having those influences in teams, where you have a few individuals that are super aggressive like he [Virat Kohli] is, in a good way. So, I think they might miss that.' 'This is the reality of these situations when great players move on, is that time moves on and teams move on and India are lucky in that they have lots of young talent coming through,' he added. Flower said India still has experienced cricketers around, such as Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, and felt the Indian Premier League sets young players up quite nicely for pressure cricket. 'India still has some very experienced cricketers around who have played a lot of cricket. Bumrah is obviously one of them, and Jadeja is still playing. And the young boys are playing so much cricket, and the IPL sets them up quite nicely for pressure cricket,' he said. In his Test career, Kohli made 123 appearances in white clothing, scoring 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85, with 30 centuries and 31 fifties in 210 innings and the best score of 254*. He is India's fourth-highest run-getter in the format, behind Sachin Tendulkar (15,921 runs), Rahul Dravid (13,265 runs) and Sunil Gavaskar (10,122 runs). India is touring England for a five-match test series, which started on June 20. This is the first test series since the legendary batter announced his retirement. This series also marks the beginning of the World Test Championship (WTC) cycle 2025-27 for both nations. (ANI)
