Geri Horner drops major clue about epic Spice Girls reunion after meeting new girl group hopefuls Sweet Love - as pop legends 'plan world tour'

Daily Mail30-04-2025

Oasis may well be fuelling nineties nostalgia with their forthcoming reunion, but The Spice Girls could well eclipse the Brit Pop legends amid claims of a secretly planned world tour.
The girl-group are understood to be considering a reunion of their own, six years after they filled stadiums across the United Kingdom with their Spice World mini-tour.
The reported tour will be launched to celebrate their 30th anniversary, and founding member Geri Horner suggested she was keen for a return to the stage during a recent chat with new girl band Sweet Love.
Pop veteran Geri, 52 - known to millions as Ginger Spice - stunned the fledgling four-piece with a surprise backstage meeting, just days after publicly supporting them on social media.
The group, comprised of singers Honey, Jasmine, Venice, and Maya, posed for a series of photos with Geri, who hinted at a desire to dust off her Union Jack minidress and get back onstage.
'It was honestly insane meeting Geri,' said Honey. 'I cannot believe we met a Spice Girl after being a fan for so many years! A dream come true.
'We were joking around and asked if she would become the fifth member of our girl band - which she joked saying she'd love to. We were in awe of her!'
Band-mate Jasmine added: 'It was a dream come true to meet one of our inspirations!
'I absolutely am obsessed with the Spice Girls and hopefully one day we will be supporting them on tour!'
In April, Sweet Love were given the official Spice Girls seal of approval after posting a cover of their 1996 number one single Mama in conjunction with Mother's Day.
The '90s girl-group commented 'Love this' on the post, before resharing the video with their 1.1 million followers on TikTok.
Geri, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm are said to be meeting next week in Miami to discuss the finer details.
However Victoria Beckham is '90 per cent out of the running', with the foursome pushing ahead without her for now.
Geri and band manager and guru Simon Fuller are reportedly in touch again which has moved things along after years of hints from various members that they would get back together.
A source told The Sun: 'There have been rumours swirling for months, but Geri has always been too busy and had other things on, preventing her from saying yes.
'Nothing is yet confirmed but Geri and Simon are back in touch with a myriad of exciting ideas.
'Unfortunately Victoria has pretty much ruled herself out, but there is still a world in which she could do some sort of avatar appearance or a special one-off thing. She would always want to honour the girls' history.'
'If Simon were to get involved, this would absolutely take any tour to the next level.'
Geri will be in Miami later this week to support her F1 boss husband Christian Horner at the Grand Prix and Simon will also be there.

Watch awkward moment man stops orgy with three women after getting stage fright on Open House The Great Sex Experiment

AN awkward moment on Open House saw a man stop a wild orgy with three women after getting stage fright. The Channel 4 show sees monogamous couples move into a house alongside 'sexperts' and explore having an open relationship. 3 3 3 However, one participant, Simon, struggled as he put a stop to romping with three women. He entered the retreat alongside his fiancé Chris, to explore whether they're attracted to women. While Simon looked visibly flustered, one of the women gave him a drink of water. He said: "Might just be a bit of stage fright, part of it is also... there's a lot going on. "I'm just, like, processing everything at once. This is something very new for me." Viewers previously slammed a mum-of-six for "making a fool" of her husband. Amy attracted the ire of horrified fans for passionately kissing a woman in front of her hubby Claude in a hot tub. Amy had told the cameras how she previously enjoyed a polyamorous lifestyle and wanted to return to it despite hers and Claude's monogamous marriage. Claude admitted he had always stuck to one partner and was struggling with the idea of seeing his wife with someone else. But despite his obvious reservations, Amy wasted no time in snogging a woman called Georgie in front of him while sitting in a steamy hot tub. Awkward moment mum-of-six 'makes a fool out of husband' on Channel 4's The Open House in bid to SAVE their marriage A fan penned: "Amy, if you end up on your own with 6 kids I'll have no sympathy." Another commented: "Amy's mocking her husband." And a third said: "I think it's unfair that Amy entered into a monogamous marriage and now wants to change the rules AND for her husband to be happy with that, when he's clearly not." Someone else remarked: "Amy just wants a way out of the relationship, making a fool of her partner." Despite Claude's reluctance to get on board with the idea, Amy told the cameras that she believed he was only closed off to polygamy because it is "not what society dictates". But another viewer blasted: "No Amy he is not holding back cos society tells him it is not normal, he is holding back cos he doesn't want to do this!" things have become awkward during the school run.

Sabrina Carpenter has left a forever mark on the UK charts, breaking the record for the longest consecutive streak in the top five album chart. Her hit album, Short N' Sweet, has now spent a massive 43 consecutive weeks at the top, according to the Official Charts Company. The 26-year-old singer's achievement officially topples Ed Sheeran from the top spot. Sheeran's 2021 album, =, had a record-setting 42-week stay in the top five, a claim which he managed to hold onto until Sabrina's album came along. Oasis have stormed back into the UK albums chart, climbing to number two with their greatest hits collection Time Flies… 1994–2009, as anticipation builds for their upcoming Oasis Live '25 reunion tour. The Britpop icons, who disbanded in 2009, officially confirmed their return in August 2024. The long-awaited tour kicks off in Cardiff this July, with major shows lined up in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Topping the UK albums chart for the first time this week is musician James Marriott, whose debut album Don't Tell The Dog takes the number one spot. The news comes just days after Sabrina revealed the cover for her upcoming album Man's Best Friend, which sparked enormous backlash. The image, which depicts Carpenter on her knees, in a short black dress and heels, holding the leg of a suited man as he yanks her hair, is shocking many fans. On Instagram, @edersoaresx wrote, 'Lol this cover art is so disgusting. As a fan I don't like it :(.' Reddit user Potential-Friend-133 said, 'The first image is very triggering for me. I hate this. A LOT.' More Trending Others have argued that the album cover is satirical or even a moment of political commentary. Ravyn Lenae's Love Me Not holds steady at number three, while Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club remains firmly at number four. Got a story? Liam Gallagher 'hunkering down' as son shares huge insight into Oasis reunion

Liam Gallagher's son, Lennon, has shed light on the upcoming Oasis Live '25 reunion tour and hinted that he and his brother, Gene, could join the legendary band on stage Lennon Gallagher shares his thoughts on the Oasis reunion Liam Gallagher's son has shared a major insight into the upcoming Oasis tour. The legendary Manchester-based band will be on stage together for the first time in 16 years next month for their mammoth Oasis Live '25 tour. Brothers Liam, 52, and Noel, 58, had been at loggerheads ever since the band split in 2009 and were often embroiled in tense feuds on social media and in interviews. But last year, things changed when the two brothers joined forces again, announcing their widely anticipated comeback, almost 15 years to the day from their split. ‌ Now, with just weeks to go, any former feuds between the Gallaghers are firmly in the past, and they're looking towards the future. Last night, the two brothers posed together for the second time as they revealed a huge Adidas promotional campaign which launched on Channel 4. ‌ Now, Liam's son, Lennon, 25, has opened up about the upcoming tour. Speaking about his memories of the band before the dramatic split which sent shockwaves across the music industry, Lennon said: "Yeah, yeah. I think the last memory I have of Oasis was going to one of their final shows when I was like eight." Speaking about how the family are preparing for the mammoth shows which kick off on July 4, Lennon said: "But yeah, the family right now, we're just hunkering down, getting ready for it to start (the tour). And, you know, we all cannot wait. It's going to be fantastic." But he's not too fussed on rehearsals, admitting: "Nah, I'm just letting him get on with that. I'll see it for the real thing when it starts." It's no secret that music runs in the Gallagher blood, with Gene fronting the band Villanelle, and Lennon also a keen musician, although he recently announced his band, Automotive, had decided to split. So could the family form a supergroup and appear on stage together? He told the Associated Press: "Yeah, I mean, it'll be really fun one day for me and my brother, my dad and my uncle to be on-stage, I think that'd be quite funny." ‌ He has, however, already decided on what song he'd choose if the family were to ever join forces for a mega performance. "I'd like to do Be Here Now. That'd be pretty cool," he hinted. Meanwhile, Noel and Liam haven't been making music together; instead, they have been focusing on the upcoming tour as well as their Adidas campaign. The brothers were all smiles as they were spotted arriving separately at a working men's club in Newington Green, London, in April. It was understood at the time they were shooting promo material for Adidas as part of a new planned collaboration between the Gallaghers and the sports brand. Adidas will make its own Originals range based on the Oasis Live 25 tour. ‌ And now the advert has been unveiled to fans. In the promo video, the Oasis anthem Live Forever can be heard and there are scenes reminiscent of early Oasis gigs with fans wearing new Adidas clothing complete with the famous Oasis band logo. At one point, a tambourine appeared to hit ice, and Liam's voice could be heard saying: "There are days when you are in the zone, you know what I mean? You just stand perfectly still while there's all this chaos going on around you. Not feeling the need to join in the madness, just thinking, this is the best feeling in the world. Just absolutely still." ‌ Liam and Noel could then be seen heading to the stage ready to play a gig before the final shot of the advert showed them reunited and posing together. Liam's comments on the ad in some ways describe his posture on stage. He is well known for not dancing or moving, singing up to the mic with his trademark pose, with his hands behind his back. No doubt, whilst he does that later this month at the reunion shows, there will be "chaos" in the crowd as thousands of fans enjoy the first Oasis shows for 16 years. The biblical band split following a backstage bust-up between the Gallaghers at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris in 2009. But thankfully, the brothers have now made up, and it is believed Liam made the first move to patch things up. Get Oasis updates straight to your WhatsApp!
