Trump threats and Israeli strikes fuel fears of imminent war on Iran over nuclear program

ALBAWABA- Rising tensions between the U.S., Israel, and Iran have escalated into what analysts warn could become a nuclear flashpoint.
U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated his firm stance against Iran's nuclear ambitions, stating that 'the United States is taking the necessary steps' to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Vice President Mike Johnson added that Trump 'may take additional measures to end uranium enrichment,' suggesting that dramatic military options remain on the table.
According to the Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs, Israel has already destroyed several uranium enrichment facilities in Iran and will continue its campaign to dismantle Iran's nuclear infrastructure fully.
The German Chancellor echoed Israel's view, stating that if Iran 'does not back down,' the 'complete destruction of its nuclear program is on the agenda.' However, the Chancellor also admitted that 'Israel cannot destroy Iran's nuclear program alone.'
These developments follow Trump's dramatic departure from the G7 summit in Canada, where he refused to sign a joint de-escalation statement and instead warned Tehran residents to evacuate, hinting at 'unprecedented measures.'
This same day, Trump posted a letter on Truth Social from U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, who compared Trump to President Harry Truman, who ordered the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and urged Trump to follow 'divine inspiration' in confronting Iran.
Huckabee, a prominent evangelical Christian and staunch pro-Israel figure, has previously declared that there is 'no such thing as Palestine' and fully supports the annexation of the West Bank.
In the letter, Huckabee urged Trump to remain steadfast, saying, 'I am not advising you, I am encouraging you.' The ambassador emphasized that Trump is on a 'divine mission' and 'capable of historic decisions.'

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stark threat, warning that 'what happened to Hezbollah will be nothing compared to what's coming for Iran.' Also Read Israeli strike causes damage at Iranian hospital
He even floated the possibility of assassinating Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a goal he described as a 40-year-old dream.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz also declared the war 'existential,' signaling that Israel will press on 'to the end,' regardless of international law.
Observers now believe the focus of this military escalation has shifted far beyond Iran's nuclear capabilities. Instead, the West, backed by NATO allies and led by the U.S., appears determined to curb Iranian regional influence, weaken China's growing partnerships in the Middle East, and solidify Israel's supremacy in the region.

Tactical US Nuclear strike on Iran's Fordow nuclear facility reportedly highly expected

Published June 20th, 2025 - 12:26 GMT ALBAWABA - According to a new story by Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich, the idea of using a mobile nuclear bomb to attack Iran's Fordow nuclear plant is still being thought about by U.S. military officials. The comment goes against what The Guardian said earlier, which said that going nuclear was no longer a says that a White House official denied what The Guardian said, saying that the U.S. military is still sure that conventional bunker-busting bombs will work to destroy the heavily fortified Fordow site, but that "all options, including tactical nuclear weapons," are still on the to an earlier article in The Guardian, former President Donald Trump had thought about using military action against Iran and had even planned to target the Fordow nuclear site. The story did say, though, that the former president might put off the operation in order to try to find a peaceful highly protected Fordow site, which is hidden deep in a mountain, has been a point of disagreement in nuclear talks for a long time. It is thought to be one of Iran's safest nuclear sites and is said to have advanced uranium processing facilities. The White House hasn't said for sure what the final choice is, but on Thursday they said that a decision about whether to use military action against Iran should be made within the next two weeks. Video: Two fighter jets damaged as Pro-Palestinian activists breach UK base

ALBAWABA - It was Friday that two activists from the pro-Palestinian group Palestine Action broke into a British Royal Air Force base and damaged two military planes as a protest against the UK's backing for Israeli military activities. Also Read Iran targets key Microsoft research building The accident took place at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, which is one of the biggest military airbases in the UK. The activists painted a Voyager plane red and used crowbars to do more damage, according to a statement from the group. The main things these planes do are refill and carry military supplies. Palestine Action posted a video of the event on social media and said it was a direct protest against Britain's continued military backing for Israel during the war in Gaza. According to Reuters, the group said in a statement, "Even though the UK publicly condemns Israel's actions, it continues to send weapons to Israel, fly surveillance over Gaza, and refuel Israeli and American fighter jets." The group said that the UK government was "not just involved, but actively involved in the genocide in Gaza and in war crimes across the Middle East." — Arab-Military (@ashrafnsier) June 20, 2025 Since the fighting in Gaza got worse, Palestine Action has become known for taking direct action against British military companies and institutions with ties to Israel. The group said that the targeted planes, which are Voyagers made by Airbus, can carry military weapons and refuel fighter jets from the UK, the US, and Israel while they are in the air. The UK Ministry of Defense has not yet made a public statement about the leak or how bad the damage is. There is probably a review going on.

Iran targets key Microsoft research building

ALBAWABA - Israeli and foreign news sources say that an Iranian rocket hit the city of Be'er Sheva in the south of the country early Friday morning. The attack caused a big fire near a building that houses Microsoft offices, damaged a lot of property, and hurt several people. A lot of parked cars were destroyed by the rocket hit, and nearby buildings were seriously damaged. Videos going around on social media show cars on fire, pieces of debris, and a clear hole near the crash site. People have said that the attack was probably done by a solid-fuel rocket that got past Israel's air defenses. After the attack, air raid alarms went off all over southern Israel. The Iranian missile launch was confirmed by the Israeli military, which said that its air defense systems tried to stop the danger. A spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said, "Iran's missile launches toward Israel were picked up just now." Our air defense systems are already working. People must go into safe places right away and stay there until they are told otherwise. The Israeli Home Front Command looked at the situation and then let people leave secured areas, but they still told them to follow official instructions. Rescue and search teams were sent to the impact site to look at the damage and help anyone who might have been hurt.
