All Black Caleb Clarke discharged without conviction for dangerous driving

All Blacks and Blues winger Caleb Clarke has been discharge without conviction after being clocked going 110 km/h on a motorbike in a residential area.
In February the 26-year-old
pleaded guilty
to dangerous driving and failing to stop for police while riding his motorbike in Auckland late last year.
At the time he said "I made an error of judgement while riding my motorbike in Auckland. I've taken full responsibility for my actions and have entered a guilty plea...I'm extremely apologetic and embarrassed."
The police summary of facts showed he evaded officers and was being tracked by the Eagle helicopter when he ran a red light and was clocked speeding at 110 km/h in a residential area.
Appearing at the Auckland District Court on Monday, Clarke was granted a discharge without conviction.
He was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
Clarke was also named in the
first All Blacks squad for the season on Monday
.
He was earlier accompanied into the court by his family, including his father and former All Black Eroni Clarke.

Meth worth $8 million seized after drug smuggling operation

Photo: Supplied / NZ Police Police have arrested four men accused of being in a Wellington-based drug syndicate, seizing 23 kilograms of methamphetamine with a street value of more than $8 million. Police said over the past month a joint operation with Customs - Operation Armani - identified a group they said were smuggling significant amounts of drugs into New Zealand over a number of months. More than 1000 MDMA pills, with a street value of $50,000, was also seized. Police also located a loaded pistol and ammunition. Last week the National Organised Crime Group, Customs, district investigators and specialist support groups carried out a number of search warrants across the Wellington district. Four men, aged 26 to 30 faced charges for the import and supply of methamphetamine, and possession for supply of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis. More than 1000 MDMA pills were seized. "This is an enormous amount of serious harm being peddled into our communities - with these suppliers giving no conscious thought to the impact on those they are supplying to," Detective Inspector Darrin Thomson said. "This investigation demonstrates how the excellent work of frontline Customs officers combined with the collaborative efforts of our Police partners is protecting our communities from the scourge of illicit drugs,"Acting Customs investigations manager Matt Green said. Teens arrested after aggravated robbery, fleeing in stolen car in Auckland
Photo: RNZ / REECE BAKER A 14-year-old and a 16-year-old have been arrested following an aggravated robbery in Auckland's suburb of New Lynn on Monday morning. The police said one of them was armed with a knife when they entered a convenience store on Parker Avenue about 8.30am. They reportedly stole the till before fleeing in a stolen car. The pair were arrested after police found the stolen vehicle nearby. They will be appearing in the Waitākere Youth Court.
