Rah Ali wears many hats, or should we say shoes? You may remember her from her days on 'Love & Hip Hop,' but the mom of two has expanded her brand since then. She is the founder and CEO of OnSite! Media — a popular media platform delivering headline-worthy news with witty and cheeky commentary. Her candid interview series Sited With Rah Ali has been an extension of her presence in the journalism space. Most recently, she opened a chic breakfast and brunch spot in Miami that combines food, vibes, and luxury. And that's not all, Rah Ali does it all in a heel.
Known as a stiletto expert with styling roots, she remains invested in the fashion industry through her brand ambassadorship and The Stiletto Group. She always says, 'You can close a six-figure deal in a four-inch heel.' We spoke to the blooming beauty about being the ultimate businesswoman, her growing brand, and the inspiration behind her drive.
HelloBeautiful: A lot of fans know you from reality TV, but you have reinvented yourself over the years into a force in the media world. Tell me about making that transition and what inspired it?
Rah Ali: Reality TV was a moment — and I'll never downplay it because it introduced me to so many people. But I always knew I had more to offer. I've always been a hustler. But before the cameras, I was already working behind the scenes. I started out assisting industry veterans Harve Pierre and Phil Robinson, and that gave me a real crash course in entertainment and business. That experience lit the fire, and I transitioned into entrepreneurship. I started out in my early 20s with my boutique, Bourgeoisie, in Harlem. I was supplying high-end shoes to celebs and every fly girl uptown… even the fellas knew to come to me if they wanted to impress their lady. That same drive never left me. Stepping into media with Onsite! just felt like a natural extension of my voice.
HB: How has the media world welcomed you? Or not?
Rah Ali: Whew! It's been a mix. Some people rolled out the red carpet, others rolled their eyes. But that's life. I don't look for validation I look for impact. It's Onsite! didn't just sneak into the media space, we kicked the door open. I respect the ones who've supported me, and I still move with grace toward the ones who didn't. Either way, I'm here to stay.
HB: How have you established yourself as a Black woman in media? Tell me about your various platforms. How do you feel about the boom in podcasts, etc?
Rah Ali: As a Black woman in media, the standard is different. You have to be two steps ahead, twice as consistent, and ten times more intentional. I've always had a foot in this space — I started with a live radio show streamed on Stationhead and YouTube, then launched On The Contrary, which is currently on pause. That opened the door for SITED w/ Rah Ali, my newest solo venture where I get to speak on culture, current events, and deeper topics.
I have Onsite! which has grown into a major media platform, and now Onsite! Africa, which I'm extremely proud of. I've been spending time in Africa, building relationships with influencers, creatives, and public figures, creating real partnerships that go beyond posts. That kind of cross-cultural expansion matters to me.

HB: Tell me about your personal style. As a curvy woman, what style tips do you live by?
Rah Ali: My style is structured, confident, and tailored to me. I don't follow trends — I create shape, balance, and energy with what works for my body. For curvy women, I always say: don't hide your body, honor it. Find your silhouette and invest in a good tailor. Also? Heels. Always heels.
HB: What makes you a stiletto expert?
Rah Ali: Because stilettos built me. Literally. I built my first business around high-end footwear and styled some of the biggest names in entertainment. I understand the construction, the designer intent, the wearability, and how a shoe transforms your energy. I wasn't just selling shoes, I was selling confidence.
HB: Misconception about you, you want people to know otherwise?
Rah Ali: People think I'm mean or combative, I get it, reality TV gave that impression. But I'm extremely nurturing and loyal. I just don't play about my business, my family, or my peace. I'm passionate, not problematic.
HB: You are ultimately a businesswoman. Tell me about your day-to-day when it comes to running your businesses and being an entrepreneur.
Rah Ali: My day starts early, emails, strategy meetings, checking analytics, production planning for SITED, managing staff, closing deals… and still being present for my two beautiful daughters and husband. It's nonstop, but it's purpose-driven. I'm not just building businesses I'm building a legacy. But don't get me wrong, I also have a great team behind me.
HB: Would you do reality TV again? If so, what type of show?
Rah Ali: That's always the million-dollar question! Look — I never say never. But it would have to make sense. I'm not in the same space I was back then. The drama, the chaos it just doesn't fit my life anymore. I'm a successful businesswoman, a mother, a wife. If I were to do reality again, it would need to align with who I am now — something elevated, entrepreneurial, and meaningful.

We spent 8 hours at Ebony Beach Club's ‘Juneteenth on the Pier'
The Ebony Beach Club's priority is to create a space for Black beachside communities in Los Angeles. So, every year on Juneteenth, they transform a local beach into a full-blown festival, consisting of nonstop DJs, a vivacious dance floor and neighborly vendors. This year, the beach club partnered with Black Lives Matter and took over the Santa Monica Pier. Here's everything that went down. 12:39 p.m. I arrive early. Ebony Beach Club founder, Brick, runs from vendor to vendor, ensuring everyone is ready for the day ahead. He boasts that there's 'not a cloud in sight' — and that everything is aligning for today's 'historic moment.' 1:58 p.m. I never thought I would be able to say I've found a sense of inner peace in the middle of the Santa Monica Pier. The typically chaotic environment is transformed by rhythmic breathing exercises and sound bath frequencies. For a moment, it does feel like I am cooking under the hot summer sun, but still, I couldn't be more at ease. 3:09 p.m. So far, the music selection transcends generations. Anything from Aaliyah to YG and Frankie Beverly fills the beachy air. But after hearing more than one early 2000s Ne-Yo classic, I can't help but wonder what he's up to. Why the lack of 2025 Ne-Yo bangers? 3:40 p.m. The crowd is slowly growing. Most partygoers sport a mix of brightly colored swimwear with denim shorts or matching mini skirts. Others wear graphic tees that commemorate the holiday and show L.A. pride. The most standout looks so far have included bejeweled thongs, color-coordinated snapbacks and sneakers and pleated, baggy jorts. 3:58 p.m. In the flash of a moment, a familiar face glides through the crowded pier. Her grill catches the light and a pair of Labubus hangs from a designer bag. It's none other than R&B royalty Kehlani. A growing swarm of fans start to catch on. I get my chance to say something as she passes. I compliment her latest single and let her continue on her mission to the bar. Cool, casual and of course, no mention of the fact that I was listening to the Kehlani Spotify radio on the whole drive over. 4:45 p.m. Brick halts the music and offers a quick history lesson from the DJ decks. He speaks of the first Ebony Beach Club, started by a man named Silas White in 1957. That year, 2,000 Black people, including Brick's own grandfather, signed up to be members. But the City of Santa Monica had barred it from ever opening. Today's Ebony Beach Club celebration roughly creates space for around 2,000 people to be at the exact same beach and enjoy the party. 'This is the most Black people the Santa Monica pier has seen in a while,' said Brick, who was met with an echoing applause. 'Today, we are Black people who are occupying this space for the first time in a long time.' 5:30 p.m. The emcee says, 'If you're outside the barricade, I'm sorry. If you couldn't get a ticket, I'm sorry.' He addresses the consistent crowd of onlookers who have lingered by the barricades. Some appear to be tourists, but most spectators seem like they were too late to grab a ticket. Nonetheless, they are able to indulge in the sights and sounds, even if it's for only a few minutes. 6:17 p.m. What's an L.A. party without Los Tucanes de Tijuana's 'La Chona?' The norteño anthem gets mixed into T.I. 's 'What You Know.' Unexpected, but somehow serendipitous. 7:25 p.m. I'm starting to seriously question the weight limit on the truck. Though its height is that of a monster truck, it has the feel of a clown car. The truck bed, filled with DJ equipment, is overflowing with people singing along and jumping to the beat. People are perched atop the car, as well as those hanging off its side, in an impressive, partially aerial twerk. I can't even imagine the kind of core strength that it takes. 7:51 p.m. As the party wraps up, Sexyy Red's distinctive vocals overtake the crowd. It feels like one final hurrah. If there's been one consistent feeling that's marked the entire party, it's been an infectious sense of joy. 8:05 p.m. On the way back to the car, people yell 'Happy Juneteenth' out their car windows. My feet are a bit achy and the tops of my shoulders a little sore to the touch, but spirits are still high. Now for the biggest test of patience — braving the traffic of leaving a Santa Monica parking structure.

Tia Mowry Opens Up About Black Identity And Belonging
If you're a millennial like me, then there's a big chance Tia Mowry played a part in your childhood. From shows like Sister, Sister and The Game to movies like Seventeen Again and Twitches, she and her twin sister Tamera were everywhere. And if you knew them, then there's an even higher chance you knew their younger brother, Smart Guy's Tahj Mowry, as well. Nowadays, Tia is widely known for sharing bits and pieces of her personal life online and connecting with fans on a deep and fun level. So, over the weekend, she posted a vulnerable message to Instagram to celebrate Juneteenth, where she opened up about her experience as a mixed-race woman, and why she's proud to call herself Black. She wrote her reflections on her Notes app and accompanied them with photos of herself and her family. "There were moments I questioned where I belonged. Even as a mixed kid, I knew I was Black. But growing up, the world around me didn't always reflect that back to me. I had to go on a journey to fully understand who I was and what it meant to walk through this world as a Black woman." "As a kid, I noticed the difference. When I was with my mom, who's Black, she was treated with suspicion. Not receiving an application for our dream home. Questions in first class. But with my white dad, people were welcoming. That's when I realized how much the color of your skin shapes how the world treats you." Tia said it "took time" for her to find her "place" in the world. She felt like everyone was in a clique in school, whether they were separated by interests or by race. Although she didn't always know where she fit in, she did always know where she stood. "It made me want to be loud about my pride," Tia continued. "To be Black and proud. To celebrate where I come from. And to use my voice and platform to make sure my community is seen, heard, and celebrated." "Representation matters. I'll never forget the messages I got: 'I never saw someone who looked like me on TV until you.' Moments like that helped me fully land in who I am and who I stand for." The mother of two revealed she looked into her ancestry. While she already knew her grandmother came from Eleuthera, an island in the Bahamas, she would later learn that her family lineage traces all the way back to Ghana and Nigeria. "We were taken, displaced, and yet survived. There is strength in that. And I carry that strength with me every day." Motherhood has also given Tia a new perspective on Blackness and how she wants to teach her kids to be proud of who they are and where they come from. But it hasn't come without obstacles. "My children are already feeling the weight of the world. At five, my son was called a monkey. He was told his skin was 'ugly.' And that's why I speak up, so they know they are loved, valued, and protected." "Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom. But it's also a reminder that we're still pushing, still fighting, still rising. I carry that with me in my work, my purpose, and my motherhood." "I am Black. I am proud.
