Final Destination: Bloodlines continued its impressive run at the Indian box office today (Day 9, second Friday), earning Rs 2.40 crore and bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 34.8 crore. The sixth installment of the long-running supernatural horror film was released in Indian cinemas on May 15 and has shown strong legs throughout, despite facing partial competition from Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.
The film earned Rs 30 crore in its first week and then added another Rs 2.4 crore on Day 8 and Day 9 each, setting the stage for a promising second weekend. This is a remarkable performance for a niche horror title, especially considering that the Final Destination franchise traditionally caters to a cult audience rather than mainstream moviegoers in India.
Final Destination: Bloodlines day-wise collection breakdown:
Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, Final Destination: Bloodlines marks the resurrection of the decades-spanning franchise after a 14-year hiatus. Written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, based on a story co-developed with Jon Watts, the film stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana as a college student plagued by deadly visions inherited from her grandmother. The cast also features Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and franchise veteran Tony Todd.
The film's road to release was not smooth. Initially developed as a streaming title for HBO Max, Warner Bros. Pictures later opted for a theatrical release, sensing the potential for box office success. Shot in Vancouver between March and May 2024, the production faced delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike but managed to stay on course for its May 2025 global release.
Globally, the film has received strong reviews and has so far grossed over USD 121.2 million, making it the best-reviewed and highest-earning entry in the franchise. In India, the positive critical reception and the growing fan base for horror cinema have contributed to its sustained momentum at the box office.
With Rs 34.80 crore in the bank and a relatively solid run ahead, Final Destination: Bloodlines is well-positioned to breach the Rs 40 crore mark in the coming days.

Meet man who won Rs 5 crore on KBC, then lost all his money, got addicted to alcohol, sold milk for...,he is...

Luck is one thing that can either make or break a person's life. If your luck plays along, you can become a millionaire, and if that luck doesn't work in your favor, you can lose all the money you earned in a matter of seconds. Something similar happened with KBC winner Sushil Kumar. He was the first contestant in the history of the Amitabh Bachchan-led quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) to win a whopping amount of Rs 5 crore in 2011. On his historic win, Amitabh called him the 'real-life Slumdog Millionaire.' However, little did Sushil know that his life was about to change — and not for the better. He became an example of riches to rags and lost all his money. Let's know more about Sushil Kumar. Who is Sushil Kumar? Sushil Kumar, 41, from Champaran, Bihar, appeared as a contestant on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 5. He correctly answered the final question of the quiz show and won a whopping Rs 5 crore, becoming a crorepati overnight. When he was asked what he would do with the money, he expressed his desire to become an IAS officer. However, after his big win, Sushil vanished into thin air and no one knew what he was up to. Later in 2020, he once again surfaced on social media and left people shocked. In a social media post, he wrote, '2015-2016 was the most challenging time of my life. I was not able to understand what to do. Being a local celebrity, I used to have programs somewhere or the other in Bihar for ten to fifteen days a month. Therefore, studies gradually got sidelined. Also, at that time, I used to be very serious about the media and the media also used to ask me every few days what I was doing. For this, I used to do this business sometimes, that business sometimes without any experience so that I could tell the media that I am not useless. The result was that the business used to sink after a few days!' Not just that, he also used to sell milk to meet his daily needs. Sushil Kumar Got Scammed In a post, Sushil also revealed how he got scammed after winning Rs 5 crore. He wrote, 'After KBC, I used to participate in about 50 thousand programs in a month. Because of this, many times people have cheated me, which I came to know about later after donating.' Addiction to Cigarettes, Alcohol Sushil got addicted to cigarettes and alcohol. He also tried his luck in directing but failed. Now, as per media reports, Sushil Kumar has been appointed as a government psychology teacher and currently teaches students of Class 11 and 12.

Tom Cruise to receive honorary Oscar: Is a competitive win still possible?

Tom Cruise will finally be receiving an Oscar after decades in the film industry. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had announced earlier this week that he would be given an Honorary Oscar at the 2025 Governors Awards in November, celebrating his lifetime contributions to cinema, Deadline reported. The Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning actor, who at 62 is still one of Hollywood's most bankable and enduring stars, has never taken home a competitive Oscar despite being nominated four times. Cruise will be honored alongside production designer Wynn Thomas, choreographer and actor Debbie Allen, and Dolly Parton, who will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. Also Read: Mission accomplished? Tom Cruise is finally getting an Oscar but its not for any of his films Although Cruise is being bestowed with the honorary recognition, the big question remains: Will this end the Mission: Impossible actor's chances of winning a competitive Academy Award? Well, history suggests otherwise. Past Oscar winners prove an honorary award doesn't end the race As per Deadline, actors like Paul Newman and Henry Fonda both received honorary Oscars before they won Best Actor in the very next year. Additionally, Laurence Olivier, who won an Honorary Oscar in 1947, clinched Best Actor two years later. Harold Russell took home both an Honorary and a competitive Oscar in the same year. Some stars like Peter O'Toole initially resisted the gesture in fear that the honorary accolade was a consolation; they went on to receive further nominations. Moreover, figures outside of acting, like Ennio Morricone and Spike Lee also turned their honorary recognition into competitive wins later. The Deadline report added that the timing for Tom Cruise may be auspicious, too. The actor is currently filming a project with Oscar-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu. The Birdman filmmaker's next project is expected to release next year, which places it squarely in the running for the 99th Academy Awards. Tom Cruise could still find himself holding the elusive golden statue if the performance matches the prestige. So, while November's honorary award marks long-overdue recognition, it doesn't close the curtain on Cruise's Oscar journey. It might just be the prelude to his biggest role yet, an Oscar winner. FAQs Why didn't Tom Cruise win the Oscar? Despite four nominations, Tom Cruise has faced tough competition each time. His performances were critically acclaimed, but others edged him out during award season. Why is Tom Cruise getting an honorary Oscar? The Academy is recognizing Cruise for his lifetime contribution to cinema, including his work as an actor, producer, and champion of theatrical experience. Has Tom Cruise ever been up for an Oscar? Yes. He has been nominated four times: twice for Best Actor (Born on the Fourth of July, Jerry Maguire), once for Best Supporting Actor (Magnolia), and once as a producer for Best Picture (Top Gun: Maverick).

Wrestler, U23 Asian Wrestling Championships gold medallist Priya Malik: Yeh shuruat hai, mera sapna bahut bada hai

All of 20, Priya Malik is well on her way to becoming the next big thing in Indian wrestling. On Friday, the Haryana native clinched the gold medal at the U23 Asian Wrestling Championships in Vung Tau, Vietnam. Priya Malik won all three bouts by technical precision on her way to a gold in the women's 76kg category. Competing in the women's 76kg category, Priya won all three bouts with technical precision, leaving no room for doubt that she's one to watch. Following her win, the wrestler is ecstatic, but she knows the work isn't quite done yet. 'I am extremely happy right now, but this win will not stay with me for too long,' she says and elaborates, 'Yeh bas shuruat hai. Mera sapna hai ki pehle Asian Games mein aur fir 2028 mein Olympics mein India ke liye gold lana hai.' Ask if there was any nervousness when she stepped up to the mat for the final match and Priya dismisses the thought. 'Bahut confidence milta hai jab aap mat pe hote hain aur aapko pata hai ki koi aapke against uss time pe point score nahin kar sakta,' she replies, noting that this comes from a conviction in her own strong mindset. The rising star from a village in Jind also credits one man for pushing her forward — her dadda (grandfather) Prithvi Singh. Talking about her first coach and biggest cheerleader, Priya reminisces, 'Dadda mere pehle inspiration the. Agar bachpan mein woh na hote, toh main wrestler nahin hoti. He got me interested in the sport and never left my side till his passing in 2020. I miss him on days like these but I know he is watching from above and smiling.' While she's had a strong support system in her family, the wrestler acknowledges that several other girls with the same dreams and aspirations as her aren't as fortunate. 'Main khush kismat hoon, lekin bahut si ladkiyan apna sapna nahin jee pati,' she muses. 'I would like to tell those girls, agar tumne apne liye sapna dekh liya hai, toh kaun kya bol raha hai kabhi mat suno. Jis din tum apne mukaam ko haasil kar logi, uss din wahi sab tumhare peeche khade honge,' she signs off. For more, follow HT City Delhi Junction
