
407 students get placements at job fest
Rajamahendravaram: The Government College (Autonomous) in Rajamahendravaram organised a job fest in collaboration with 41 companies and Skill Development department here on Friday.
As many as 1,156 students from various degree colleges and institutions participated under the Nodal Resource Centre's jurisdiction.
In a press release, Principal Dr Ramachandra RK announced that 407 students secured job placements during the fest. Rajamahendravaram City MLA Adireddy Srinivas attended the job fest and handed over appointment letters to the selected candidates.
Addressing the gathering, the MLA called the students to make the best use of the opportunities they had earned, stressing the importance of determination and professionalism in today's competitive job market.
The principal congratulated the selected students and stated that the event stands as a significant milestone in the college's ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. Vice-Principal Sriramamurthy, heads of departments, Skill Development DSDO VDG Murali, JKC Coordinator Dr B Harinath Reddy, Placement Trainer M Kiran Kumar, and members of JKC and Job Fest Organising Committees participated.

Hyderabad: State IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu urged Union Minister for Skill Development Jayant Chaudhary to support the Young India Skills University. Sridhar Babu and the Union Minister participated in the 'Mega Job/Skill & Loan Mela' held in the city on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sridhar Babu emphasised that the state government is committed to transforming the state into the 'Skill Capital of the Globe.' He urged the Union Minister to extend support for the development of the prestigious Young India Skill University, an ambitious initiative launched by the state to empower youth through industry-aligned skill education. 'Our youth are Telangana's greatest strength,' the Minister said. 'Yet, many still lack the industry-ready skills needed in today's evolving job market. Our government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has identified the skill gap between academia and industry and is actively working to bridge it.' 'We believe in inclusive governance,' he added. 'We are designing curriculum in collaboration with industry leaders and domain experts. As a result, nearly 80% of students trained through our Skill University programs have already secured employment.' Encouraging the youth, he remarked: 'Each of you has immense potential. Evolve with the times, embrace new technologies, and stay resilient. Every setback is a step towards your goal.' The Minister extended a personal invitation to Jayant Chaudhary to visit the Young India Skill University and reiterated Telangana's willingness to work in close alignment with the Centre to enhance skill development across the nation.

NIFT 2025 Stage 2 Exam Dates Announced, Check Details
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced that the Stage 2 examinations for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2025 will take place on June 8, 2025, while interviews for select postgraduate candidates are set to commence on May 26, 2025. These examinations and interviews are being held for admissions to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by NIFT for the academic year 2025-26. Examination Details Stage 2 will be conducted in both Hindi and English through Computer-Based Test (CBT) or Paper-Based Test (PBT) modes, depending on the programme. Here Is detailed schedule (Bachelor of Design): A Situation Test will be conducted in 18 cities across India to evaluate candidates on model-making, creative thinking, and material handling (NLEA): Candidates will appear for a Studio Test and Personal Interview on the same day at their designated centers (Artisans): The Artisan Skill Test and Interview will be conducted at specified centers on the same day (NLEA): Aspirants will undergo a Technical Ability Test (TAT) in OMR format followed by a Personal Interview, both scheduled for the same day Postgraduate Admissions For PG M.F.M., and Personal Interview will be held exclusively in Delhi for shortlisted candidates. These interviews will begin on May 26, 2025, and are expected to continue for approximately 8 to 10 days. Venue details will be included in the Interview Call Letters issued to each eligible candidate. Admit Card Release Admit cards for Stage 2 of all programmes will soon be available on the official NIFTEE 2025 portal: The admit card will provide critical information including exam date, reporting time, venue, and important guidelines for the test or interview. New pipeline works to divert drainage water from river Godavari to be completed soon: MLA
Rajamahendravaram City MLA Adireddy Srinivas on Wednesday announced that replacement of the existing three-kilometre-long pipeline to divert the flow of drainage water into river Godavari would be completed soon. Mr. Srinivas inspected the ongoing work to replace the 15-year-old pipeline system that aims to divert the drainage water from flowing into the river Godavari. Addressing the officials, Mr. Srinivas said, 'The new pipeline with be laid at a cost of ₹1.2 crore from the 15th Finance Commission grant.' The MLA also directed the officials to speed up the drainage pipeline work as part of preparation for the Godavari Pushkarams-2027. At present, the Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation collects Godavari water at Pushkar Ghat for purification purpose.
