Arizona Cardinals receivers ranked in bottom half of NFL, per PFF

PFF puts the Cardinals' pass catchers in the bottom half of the NFL, coming in at No. 18. In the offseason of rankings and lists, we have some new team rankings for receiving corps. PFF ranked the 32 NFL teams' pass catchers. As you can suppose, the Arizona Cardinals, despite the dynamic play of tight end Trey McBride last season, are not highly ranked. The Cardinals come in at No. 18. The Cardinals tied for 11th in team PFF receiving grade in 2024 (78.3). Tight end Trey McBride was a monster, posting the second-best PFF receiving grade at the position (89.8), and came in at No. 3 in PFF's tight end rankings entering 2025. Marvin Harrison Jr. started off slow in 2024, but the rookie finished the campaign with a solid 77.2 PFF receiving grade. Anyone who follows my draft work knows I am a Michael Wilson believer, plus running back James Conner has recorded some very impressive seasons as a receiver in his career and tallied 414 receiving yards last year. You know there is not major confidence in the receivers when only two of them are even named, and one of the pass catchers mentioned is a running back. McBride was the volume receiver in 2024. Harrison was good but not great. They need more from Wilson and more from someone behind him, whether that is Greg Dortch, Zay Jones or someone else. Because McBride and Harrison will likely be the two focal points of the passing offense in 2025, there might be limited opportunities for Wilson and company, but they ideally could get two more guys to hit about 600 yards or one to hit 750-plus and another at 400-plus to balance out the production. If the Cardinals remain a run-first offense as well, it will also be difficult to showcase the passing game. We shall see what happens in 2025. PFF suggests position for Arizona Cardinals in 2026 NFL draft

While the 2025 season has not yet begun, perhaps we should pay attention to the guard position over the next few months. The 2025 NFL season hasn't even begun yet, but some are already peeking ahead past the season to the 2026 NFL draft. Pro Football Focus, using the dead of the offseason, gave one position for every NFL team that they should think about in the draft next year. For the Arizona Cardinals, that is at guard on the offensive line. The Cardinals did not address their interior offensive line with any premium assets this offseason, despite the unit finishing 2024 with sub-70.0 PFF pass-blocking and run-blocking grades. Isaiah Adams and Evan Brown must play better at the guard spots in 2025, or Arizona will look for upgrades in the 2026 NFL Draft. Truthfully, the Cardinals look at guard in the draft often. They drafted Jon Gaines in 2023. They took Adams last year and they added Hayden Conner this year. Now, PFF was mistaken in saying the Cardinals didn't address the offensive line. They re-signed Brown to a two-year deal after he played 2024 on a one-year deal and had a solid season. They also were in on the bidding in free agency for Will Fries, who signed with the Minnesota Vikings. They also signed journeyman Royce Newman, though Adams appears to be in line to start at right guard. If Adams doesn't work out, then the Cardinals will surely look to address guard again either in free agency or the draft. MLB rumors: Yankees labeled good trade fit for 2 former All-Stars

The post MLB rumors: Yankees labeled good trade fit for 2 former All-Stars appeared first on ClutchPoints. The New York Yankees currently sit in first place in the American League East. However, with teams such as the Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays quickly climbing up the standings in the division, New York will likely pursue help via trades before the deadline in July. Which players should the Yankees try to acquire in trades, however? Advertisement In a recent article for Mark Feinsand listed the Yankees as 'potential fits' for Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon and Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta. The Yankees' infield features a level of uncertainty and McMahon is capable of playing third or second base. He can also play first base if necessary. The 2024 All-Star is hitting just .222 with a .745 OPS, but he has recorded 11 home runs and 12 doubles across 291 plate appearances. McMahon has never truly hit for average, but he's a guy who can give a team 20-plus home runs while making overall positive contributions. At just 30 years old, McMahon could factor into the Yankees' long-term plans as well, as he is under contract through 2027. Peralta, a 29-year-old, was an All-Star in 2021 and finished the year with a 2.81 ERA. He hasn't been quite as dominant in recent years, but Peralta has still pitched well. In 2024, he turned in a strong 3.68 ERA in 32 starts. Peralta also struck out 200 hitters. Advertisement So far in 2025, the right-handed pitcher looks like a possible Cy Young candidate. He owns a stellar 2.60 ERA to go along with 84 strikeouts across 83 innings pitched. Feinsand believes the Yankees make sense as possible landing destinations for Ryan McMahon and Freddy Peralta. Trading McMahon makes sense for the Rockies, who are in the middle of a long rebuild. Why would the Brewers, who are in second place in the National League Central, consider trading Peralta, though? Milwaukee is a small market. The Brewers rarely sign stars to long-term deals. Peralta's contract includes a club option for 2026 and he will become a free agent in 2027. Unless Milwaukee plans to sign him to a long-term contract — which is something that has been rumored to happen — then trading him will emerge as an option.
