Cameron Brink picked Kendrick Lamar over Drake and his approval was a life highlight
Los Angeles Sparks center Cameron Brink was in on Kendrick Lamar before his feud with Drake took over the internet.
Cam recently revealed on her podcast, Straight to Cam, that she was asked, 'Kendrick or Drake?' during the 2024 WNBA Draft. The young star remembers choosing Kendrick, a choice that differed from her peers.
'And everyone chose Drake, and I was the only one that chose Kendrick,' she said. Then, she revealed a nugget.
According to a gentleman who approached her at a USC-Notre Dame game, her choice allegedly got back to Kendrick. 'He was like, 'I work with Kendrick, and he noticed that you were the only person who said him. And he [expletive] with you.' He says, 'You're LA,'' Cameron explained.
'I was like, 'Really!?' I was like, 'I love you, Kendrick.''
Cameron admits that she made a video for Kendrick but has no idea if the person who came up to her was telling the truth. However, it's something she'll never forget.
'I think he knows who I am, and that was a highlight of my life,' she excitedly said as she reflected.

Indiana Fever's Sophie Cunningham Turns Heads After Exciting Personal News
Indiana Fever's Sophie Cunningham Turns Heads After Exciting Personal News originally appeared on Athlon Sports. To say that Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham's popularity has skyrocketed among WNBA fans of late would be an understatement at this point. A testament to this fact is how the veteran has now amassed over 1 million followers on TikTok and over 740,000 followers on Instagram. Advertisement According to a report by Jacob Feldman of Portico, this massive development represents more than 700,000 new followers on TikTok and over 250,000 new followers on Instagram. This huge jump comes right after Cunningham grabbed all sorts of headlines for her actions in the Fever's 88-71 win over the Connecticut Sun. That matchup turned out to be quite a testy affair between the two teams, with Cunningham getting herself involved in one of the most contentious moments in the game. Cunningham was ejected late in the fourth quarter for a flagrant foul 2 on Sun guard Jacy Sheldon, who, for her part, was involved in an earlier incident with Caitlin Clark. Fever fans loved how Cunningham appeared to retaliate on behalf of Clark after the Indiana superstar was poked in the eye and shoved to the ground earlier in the game. The supporters showed their love to the 28-year-old on social media, and the fact that Cunningham has earned close to a million new followers on TikTok and Instagram combined serves as proof of the same. Advertisement Naturally, the only way Cunningham would celebrate the big news is by posting a new dance video on TikTok. Cunningham's celebratory dance has since blown up on the social media platform, amassing close to 500,000 views in five hours, as of writing. The post has also drawn all sorts of reactions from the fans. "New Tik tok followers just paid her WNBA fine," a comment read. "Sophie!!!!! you are everyone's new favorite teammate, we love YOU," another said. "1 million followers and sold out jersey…what a time!" a supporter wrote. "Do not stop being the enforcer for the Indiana Fever/Caitlin Clark. Please don't let me down. I'm counting on you," demanded a fan. Advertisement "700k overnight is INSANE 🔥" said another. Cunningham isn't exactly a WNBA superstar, but there is no doubt that her status on social media has seen a significant surge over the past few days. As for her basketball, the 6-foot-1 guard is averaging 6.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.3 triples in 22.6 minutes off the bench. Rachel DeMita explains her shock Big3 firing after WNBA posts: ‘Blindsided'
Rachel DeMita is no longer with the Big3. DeMita confirmed Friday on X that she was officially let go after posting about Caitlin Clark and the Fevers during a broadcast of the Big3 on Saturday. In a candid video addressed to her followers, DeMita told her side of the story and said she was a 'bit blindsided.' 'The rumors are true, I was fired from the Big 3 — I was terminated from my job with the Big 3,' she announced early in the video. 'I can say it, I was terminated this week.' DeMita explained that the tipping point was posting three times on X, commenting on the Saturday WNBA game between the Liberty and Fever head-to-head with a Big3 broadcast. Caitlin Clark finished with 32 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds in what became a high-profile 102-88 victory over the then-undefeated Liberty. Getty Images DeMita read aloud from a Big 3 letter stating the league was 'dismayed and disappointed' at her focus on Clark over the live event, which saw her directly promoting the league's competition in the WNBA. In the letter, the Big3 also docked DeMita for not promoting 'only league games' as part of her dismissal. DeMita also noted that she had other posts that were from after and not during said contests. 'I did feel bummed that there wasn't any discussion prior to me prior to me being fired,' she said. 'I didn't hear from anybody, there was no talks about it, and I wasn't under the impression that those tweets would do any severe harm to the Big3.' Caitlin Clark scored 32 points in the Fever's win over the Liberty on June 14. Imagn Images She later added, 'I'm not making excuses, I'll take it on the chin, that's my bad, I apologize for that.' Though she did acknowledge that she wishes there was a discussion prior to the decision to cut her loose. The league seemingly viewed the tweets as a conflict of interest. Caitlin Clark now stars in the WNBA and earlier reportedly declined a lucrative Big 3 offer in the past. DeMita also notes that she hadn't signed a contract yet for this coming Big3 season and that her agent was still in talks with the company as she continued to work in good faith while a deal was being constructed.

Angel Reese Sends Strong Message Following Exciting Announcement
Angel Reese Sends Strong Message Following Exciting Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. While much of the spotlight is currently on the basketball court with the WNBA season in full swing, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese continues to make a major impact off the court as well. Advertisement This week, Reese—partnering with Cash App—announced the unveiling of a custom-designed public basketball court at Oakwood Beach in Chicago. The vibrant court features a bold message: "This court is brought to you by your good friends Angel Reese and Cash App." Now in just her second season with the Sky, Reese has already become deeply involved in the local community. On Friday, ahead of Chicago's matchup against the Phoenix Mercury, she was asked about the court and the inspiration behind it. 'Obviously, I didn't know exactly what it was going to look like,' Reese said. 'I knew they were doing the court, and that's something I really emphasize—giving back to the community. Chicago has poured so much into me. They've done so many great things for me in just a year and a half, and I'm super happy to call this place home. I've had a lot of people send me selfies there. It's right by the water—people didn't even realize Chicago has water like that—but it's really nice. The feedback has been amazing.' Since entering the league, Angel Reese has expanded her brand beyond basketball, landing several high-profile partnerships. Among them, Cash App has been a key collaborator, but she's also inked deals with major brands like Hershey, Beats by Dre, McDonald's, and most notably Reebok, which is set to release her signature shoe in 2026. Advertisement Drafted seventh overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA draft out of LSU, Reese has been a consistent bright spot on a team still finding its footing. The Sky finished 13–27 last season and are off to a 3–8 start this year, but Reese's development has remained steady, solidifying her status as one of the league's brightest young stars.
