Galaxy S25 Edge is coming on May 13, Realme prototype with 10k battery, Week 19 in review
Samsung confirmed the Galaxy S25 Edge launch date this week - the slim Galaxy is coming on May 13. The Edge "embodies the ultimate camera experience" with its much-rumored and now confirmed 200 MP main sensor, which "continues Galaxy's iconic camera experience, delivering pro-grade capabilities to intuitively capture the world around you". And of course, the phone will have a ton of AI features, which we already know and love from the other members of the S25 family.
Google poked fun at Apple for copying its camera bar design. The ad is part of a long-running series that anthropomorphizes a Pixel and an iPhone and presents them as friends.
In the build-up for its global GT 7 launch, Realme showed off a prototype phone with a 10,000mAh battery. The most impressive thing about this prototype is that it measures only 8.5mm thick and weighs 215g. Realme used a battery with 10% silicon anode and achieved an energy density of 887Wh/L.
The incredibly dull and unshocking revelation is that companies copy concepts from each other - go figure.
It's thinner and lighter than you might think.
The company has also confirmed the main camera's resolution.
A leak detailed vivo's X200 FE for the Indian market. It's said to sport a flat 6.31-inch OLED screen with "1.5K" resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint sensor, and will be powered by either the Dimensity 9300+ or the still-unofficial Dimensity 9400e. The X200 FE will apparently come with a 50 MP main camera using Sony's IMX921 sensor, a 50 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom using Sony's IMX882, and an 8 MP ultrawide. For selfies, we'll get a 50 MP snapper. The phone will allegedly be offered in two RAM/storage combo options: 12/256GB and 16/512GB. It will be IP68 and IP69 certified for dust and water resistance, and will get a 6,500 mAh battery with support for 90W fast wired charging. It's rumored to weigh approximately 200g.
The specs of the Honor 400 Pro also fully leaked. It's expected to have a 6.7-inch 1080x2412 OLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and 5,000-nit peak HDR brightness, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC at the helm, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. On the rear will be a 200 MP main camera with OIS, a 50 MP telephoto camera, and a 12 MP ultrawide. For selfies, there's a 50 MP shooter and a depth sensor. There's a 5,300mAh Si/C battery with 100W wired charging. p. It will be IP68 and IP69 rated for dust and water resistance. It measures 160.8 x 76.1 x 8.1 mm and weighs 205g.
It will be a smaller-screen device with flagship specs, but not quite identical to the X200 Pro mini.
There is also a version in China that has a smaller battery.
It's expected to be unveiled alongside the non-Pro 400 very soon.
Finally, Sony will unveil its Xperia 1 VII on May 13 - the same day as the Galaxy S25 Edge. Anyway, back to Sony - according to the leaks, the Xperia 1 VII looks nigh-on identical to its predecessor, but is slightly shorter, wider, and thicker, while expected to keep the same 6.5-inch screen size. It will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM.
But only in one region most likely, and you probably know which one.
Get ready for a new flagship Xperia!
Time to migrate to Microsoft Teams.
Apple is apparently betting on two things.

Thin is in and this Galaxy Z Fold 7 rival just proved it again
The Chinese brand Honor has just given us the first glimpse of its upcoming foldable, the Magic V5 – and it is expected to reclaim the title of the world's thinnest smartphone. In the days leading up to the launch event, set for July 2, Honor is teasing the upcoming Magic V5 – and the latest teaser gives us a good (although not complete) look at its design. And yep, it is looking incredibly thin. There's also a huge camera bump on the back, rumored to include a 200 MP periscope telephoto sensor. The new Gold color looks pretty sleek. | Image credit – Honor The teaser shows the device in a color that is likely the previously rumored premium Silk Gold, which will join last year's Magic V3 colors: Velvet Black Snow White Tundra Green The new option definitely looks sleek and gives the phone a bit of a style edge over rivals like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which – once again – is expected to show up in some pretty tame shades. Now, according to this teaser, the Magic V5 is set to become the world's thinnest foldable. That means it will beat out the current record-holder, the Oppo Find N5, which comes in at 8.9 mm folded and 4.2 mm when open. It's basically a rematch – Honor held the title before, then Oppo took it, and now Honor wants it back. So, it looks like this is going to be a yearly back-and-forth between the two. But it's not just Oppo in the race. Samsung is also expected to launch its slimmest Galaxy Z Fold yet – likely just under 9 mm – though still probably not as thin as what Honor's cooking. And then there's vivo, with the X Fold 5 set to drop next week. That one is also getting a slimmer body and, interestingly, a way bigger battery than both its predecessor and the upcoming Galaxy phone. Yep, if the leaks are right, Samsung's sticking with the same 4,400mAh battery again on the Fold 7 , while both Honor and vivo are going for 6,000mAh+ cells. So this year, it looks like battery life and design might not be Samsung's strong suits. But global availability? That's still a huge win for Samsung – and a big factor when it comes time to actually buy one of these in-store. Honor Magic V5 expected specs: Snapdragon 8 Elite 16 GB RAM or more 6,100mAh battery 200 MP periscope telephoto camera Satellite messaging support Loads of AI features The Honor Magic V5 is shaping up to be a real threat in the foldables game and with three big launches lined up in the next few weeks, it has a shot at stealing the spotlight. The current Magic V3 already edged out the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in our review scores (by 0.2 points, but still) and chances are the next-gen battle will not be as close. And if you care about thinness, Honor's clearly ahead and the V5 might be your best bet.I say 'might' because, well, availability is always the catch. There's a good chance this phone won't launch officially in the US – again. But if you are up for importing, this looks like a seriously tempting option. The Magic V5 improves in basically every area compared to last year's model. And considering the Magic V3 already nailed the dream of a foldable that feels like a normal phone when closed, imagine how good an even thinner version will feel. The best Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge deal (sans trade-in) just got better with an enhanced $250 discount
Released just last month at a starting US price of $1,099.99, the ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge scored a $220 discount with 512GB internal storage space earlier this week that looked pretty much unbeatable. But believe it or not, Amazon's killer deal on Samsung's latest ultra-high-end handset has already been eclipsed by... Amazon. Yes, the e-commerce giant has somehow managed to outdo itself today, charging a whopping 250 bucks under the S25 Edge 's $1,219.99 list price in the same top-of-the-line 512 gig storage configuration and two color options. We're talking Titanium Icyblue and Titanium Silver hues, the official names of which instantly reveal one of this bad boy's key selling points and major strengths over many of the best Android phones out there right now (minus the Galaxy S25 Ultra). 5G, Unlocked, 512GB Storage, 12GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Processor, 6.7-Inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X Display with 3120 x 1440 Pixel Resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate Technology, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 Protection, Android 15, 200 + 12MP Dual Rear-Facing Camera System, 12MP Front-Facing Camera, 3,900mAh Battery with 25W Charging Support, Galaxy AI, Titanium Construction, Two Color Options Buy at Amazon In addition to rocking a wasp 5.8mm waist and a fittingly low 163 grams weight number, the Galaxy S25 Edge also offers a super-robust titanium frame, thus matching (at least in theory) the long-term durability of Samsung's aforementioned S Pen-wielding flagship. Of course, this 6.7-incher is a flagship in its own right too, packing a cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a generous 12GB RAM count in combination with both 256 and 512 gigs of local digital hoarding room. Unfortunately, our recent in-depth Galaxy S25 Edge review more or less confirmed my biggest battery life fears, which obviously came as no surprise given the phone's teeny-tiny 3,900mAh cell capacity. Said battery's outdated 25W charging support is perhaps even more disappointing, although the super-high-quality LTPO AMOLED 2X screen and 200MP primary rear-facing camera undeniably make up for the premium smartphone's glaring flaws, consolidating its astounding value proposition, especially at this new record high discount. Naturally, Amazon's newly improved deal comes with no obligatory device trade-in or any other special requirements, making the 256GB Galaxy S25 Edge variant irrelevant and Samsung's official e-store offers (both past and present) pale in comparison. You are strongly advised to hurry, though, as either the $250 price cut or the S25 Edge inventory on the whole is likely to go away before long. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! Galaxy S25 FE leak essentially suggests that Samsung's budget flagship will get the Edge treatment
In addition to three or four new foldable devices widely expected to see daylight in just a few weeks, Samsung is almost certainly preparing an upgraded non-foldable high-ender for an official announcement by the end of the year too. The existence and impending arrival of the Galaxy S25 FE have been basically set in stone by a number of recent rumors and leaks, and now we finally know exactly how the S24 FE's sequel is supposed to look on the outside. Predictably enough, the new inexpensive Android flagship is not tipped to completely reimagine its predecessor's design, although there are at least a couple of changes in the pipeline destined to put a big smile on the faces of a lot of cash-strapped power users and hardcore Samsung fans. As much as we'd all love to see companies like Samsung break new aesthetic ground with every upgraded member of families like the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z, it's important to acknowledge that reinventing the wheel (or the classic rectangular slab look) is not easy... or very feasible in this day and age. As such, maintaining a family identity and a coherent design language while slowly but steadily improving key little details like product weight and thickness is probably the best thing Samsung can do year in and year out. Enter the Galaxy S24 FE -similar S25 FE with a 7.4mm waist. Nowhere near as thin as the S25 Edge, the S25 FE could be just about as eye-catching as the Galaxy S25. That's considerably thinner than the S24 FE's 8mm measurement, and although it obviously can't rival the industry-leading 5.8mm thinness of the first-of-a-kind Galaxy S25 Edge, it's pretty clear that this is a trend now that Samsung plans to keep going for at least a little while longer. At 7.4mm, the S25 Fan Edition will be almost as slim as the "vanilla" Galaxy S25 (which rocks a very slender 7.2mm profile of its own), but hopefully, this won't impact battery life in any noticeable way. Interestingly, the Galaxy S25 FE is also expected to be slightly shorter and narrower than the S24 FE, at 161.4 and 76.6mm respectively (compared to 162 and 77.3mm), which means a reduction in bezel size is virtually guaranteed too. That's because the S25 FE is likely to retain its predecessor's 6.7-inch screen diagonal, as well as the super-high-quality AMOLED technology, 120Hz refresh rate support, and decent albeit not glorious resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. Unfortunately, that's a strong possibility after today's highly detailed leak. Especially if Samsung manages to keep the 4,700mAh battery capacity unchanged, or even better, bump that up (somehow) to 5,000mAh. With great improvements comes a strong possibility of a (small) price increase. Under the hood, a few disappointing rumors have hinted at the use of the same Exynos 2400e processor found inside last year's Galaxy S24 FE, which would make it pretty hard for Samsung to justify any potential price hike. On the bright side, some insiders believe the Galaxy S25 FE could offer as much as 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage space in an entry-level configuration, so if that ends up costing $700 in the US instead of the $650 list price of a Galaxy S24 FE with 8GB RAM and 128GB local digital hoarding room, the value proposition might prove extremely difficult to argue with.
