, the two Air India crew members from Manipur were killed in the Ahmedabad plane crash.
Grief-stricken family members of the slain crew member, senior officials, elected leaders, local people and community leaders received the mortal remains of Sharma at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal.
Congress' Lok Sabha Member from Manipur Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, Manipur Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh, Director General of Police Rajiv Singh and many other important personalities paid floral tributes to Sharma.
After some rituals and formalities, her body was later taken to
Thoubal district
, where the last rites would take place.
Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma belonged to the non-tribal
Meitei community
and hailed from Manipur's Thoubal district.
Earlier, family members of Sharma went to Ahmedabad to complete the necessary formalities for getting the remains of their loved one.
Thousands of local people, family members, relatives and senior officials on June 20 bid a tearful farewell to 26-year-old Lamnunthem Singson, in Manipur's tribal inhabited Kangpokpi district.
The mortal remains of Singson first arrived in Nagaland's Dimapur airport from Ahmedabad on June 19 and were then taken to Kangpokpi district, avoiding Manipur's capital, Imphal, due to the ongoing ethnic tension and security reasons.
Singson was a resident of Kangpokpi district and belonged to the tribal
Thadou community

Hyderabad: BRS leaders on Sunday alleged a staggering Rs 1,100 crore scam within the paddy tenders, claiming that the state government, which should have received Rs 7,500 crore, secured less than half, with the remaining funds reportedly going illegally to bidders. This, they asserted, occurred because while the price was fixed at Rs 2,007 per quintal, millers were compelled to pay Rs 2,230. Addressing a press conference, BRS leader Peddi Sudarshan Reddy stated that despite alerting authorities and raising the issue in the Assembly through party MLAs, no action has been taken by the government. Sudarshan Reddy expressed suspicion over the participation of only four bidders in the tenders. He alleged that, so far, money has been collected from millers without the paddy being lifted, with cash transferred from millers to the bidders' accounts. 'We have collected 270 bank account details and sent them to the Chief Minister, Civil Supplies Minister, Civil Supplies Commissioner, the vigilance commission, and the ACB, but no action was taken. A total of Rs 7,500 crore should have reached the government treasury through these tenders. Not even half of it came. Instead of Rs 2,007 per quintal, Rs 2,230 was collected,' said Sudarshan Reddy. The BRS leader further pointed out that the High Court issued notices to the Chief Minister and the state minister, yet the government sought adjournments 16 times to file its counter. 'If you did not commit corruption, why are you seeking adjournments in the Court? Even though you filed illegal cases and summoned KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao in the name of investigation, why are Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy avoiding the court?' questioned Reddy. He further alleged that the deadline for the bidders was extended five times beyond the period specified in the tenders. Alleging that the bidders channelled Rs 1,100 crore to the Congress party, Sudarshan Reddy stated, 'We have given all the evidence to the court. Every Congress MLA got Rs 10 crore, and the civil supplies tender scam money has gone to Delhi. The MLAs were given money to ensure they do not go into despair.' He further alleged that Congress party representatives in Delhi were also involved in the civil supplies scam. He claimed that no grain was lifted anywhere except for the collection of money, and that Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has remained silent on this scam so far. The authorities, he added, claimed that grain was being sent to the Philippines and were attempting to prematurely conclude the tender process. Demanding that Rs 1,100 crore be deposited into the Civil Supplies account, he announced that the party would lay siege to the Civil Supplies Bhavan and also approach the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding this alleged scam. Party leaders Errolla Srinivas, Bommera Ramamurthy, Sushila Reddy, K Kishore Goud, Y Satish Reddy, and Abhilash Rangineni were also present.

Noida: Haridwar man arrested over ₹1 crore cyber fraud
Noida: A 54-year-old man from Haridwar has been arrested for being allegedly involved in a ₹ 1 crore cyber fraud case in which a Noida resident was duped on the pretext of stock trading between April and August 2024, police said on Sunday. The case was reported at the Cybercrime Branch police station on this April 7. Police said suspect Sharma's bank accounts had been flagged by six states over 13 cyber fraud cases. (Representational image) The suspect has been identified as Rajendra Sharma, a resident of Ranipur, Haridwar, police said on Sunday. 'After months of extensive technical investigation, we arrested Sharma from his hometown in Haridwar on Saturday. The investigation revealed that Sharma allegedly provided his bank accounts to cybercriminals, who used them to receive fraudulent money. He received a commission for providing his accounts,' said deputy commissioner of police (DCP) (cybercrime branch) Preeti Yadav. ' ₹ 5.5 lakh was transferred into Sharma's account. It also came to light that some of his acquaintances too provided their bank accounts to the fraudsters. Efforts are underway to nab them too,' the DCP added. Police said Sharma's bank accounts had been flagged by six states over 13 cyber fraud cases. The victim is a resident of Sector 77, Noida. On April 7, 2025, he informed the cybercrime branch police station, that on April 23, 2024, he was lured into stock market trading for huge profits after being sent a WhatsApp message from an unidentified number. 'The fraudsters claimed their company was a parent company of an American multinational investment bank and duped the victim of ₹ 1 crore. When he insisted on meeting them in person, he was asked to come to Mumbai. There, he learned from the multinational investment bank that no such associated company existed. He then filed a complaint. After investigation, a case of cheating and personation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered on April 7,' police said.

Wreckage of Air India flightmoved for further analysis
The Gujarat Police has started shifting the wreckage of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner that crashed into a medical college hostel in Ahmedabad on June 12 to a site near the city's airport, where investigators will attempt to piece the debris back together for analysis. Every piece of wreckage is being transported from the crash site to a new location for reconstruction,' said Ahmedabad police commissioner GS Malik. Officials aware of the matter said it would take between 48 and 72 hours to move the entire wreckage of the nearly 120-tonne aircraft, which plunged into the BJ Medical College hostel 33 seconds after taking off from the Ahmedabad airport, killing all but one of its 242 passengers and crew and at least 30 people on the ground. At least 247 persons killed in the crash have so far been identified through DNA matching and 232 bodies handed over to their families, as per officials. Both sets of flight recorders from the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner have been recovered - the first combined Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) unit was found on June 13, with the second set located on June 16. The B787 aircraft model carries two black box sets – one under the cockpit and the other in the tail section -- as standard. The debris removal and transportation process typically involves careful cataloguing and preservation of aircraft components that could provide crucial evidence about the crash sequence. Investigators must maintain a strict chain of custody for all materials, with larger structural components often moved to specialised facilities where they can be reconstructed to understand the aircraft's final moments. Critical components like engines and control surfaces undergo detailed metallurgical and mechanical analysis to identify any failures or anomalies that may have contributed to the accident.
