Our Yorkshire Farm's Reuben Owen defiantly hits back at critics after being slammed for 'disgusting and disturbing' video shared by mum Amanda

Our Yorkshire Farm 's Reuben Owen has defiantly hit back at critics after being slammed for 'disgusting and disturbing' video shared by his mother, Amanda.
Earlier this month, the 50-year-old shepherdess, who is best known for starring in the Channel 4 show, took to her Instagram page to share a clip of her son Reuben, 21, helping her out on the Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale, Yorkshire.
In the clip, mum-of-nine Amanda can be heard saying: 'Well this is what you've been getting up to in lambing fields,' while Reuben is laying across an ewe and lamb.
He then picks up the ewe by the horns and she tells her son: 'You did great there! And you got the lamb at the same time.'
Amanda captioned the post: 'Caught ewe. Reuben downs tools and springs into action.
'*Everyone lends a hand, there is no one exempt from lambing time tasks*.'
However, many fans were confused by the post and didn't like seeing Reuben handle the ewe as they didn't know what he was actually doing.
Some took to leaving comments including, 'Why are you treating the ewe like that? Absolutely disgusting and I'm disappointed as I thought you were better than that.'
Or, 'I didn't like how you held the sheep! Absolutely disturbing! Animals are treated with respect and not like trash!'
In an interview with The Telegraph, Reuben responded to the online furore and said: 'I don't have the time or the inclination to scroll through social media.'
The young farmer added: 'If you do ever see me on my phone, I'll be searching for machinery sales.'
Some did jump to the 21-year-old's defence however and penned: 'Please ignore comments from any animal activist… if we all listened to them nothing would ever get done and we'd all be starving by now . Carry on farming.'
Another said: 'Kindness is a gift, if you cannot say anything nice please say nothing at all.'
Our Farm Next Door, which premiered last year on More4, follows Amanda and ex-husband Clive, 69, renovating an abandoned farmhouse alongside their kids Raven, 23, Reuben, 21, Miles, 18, Edith, 16, Violet, 14, Sidney, 13, Annas, 11, Clemmy, nine, and Nancy, eight.
Earlier this month Amanda said she is 'suffering sleepless nights' after facing 'daunting and difficult decisions' in the show.
The roof of the derelict property had no slates on it at all, leaving the Owen family starting from scratch to make sure it was warm and dry.
Their builder Richard needed Amanda to decide which slates she wanted, asking, '15 or 16 inch wide?' - and pointing to one , saying: 'What we are thinking is this but we need a decision.'
She appeared completely overwhelmed by indecision, replying: 'Oh no, is it up to me?'
Explaining her decision-making paralysis, she said: 'Trying to get everything all joined up is so difficult. I never realised there was so much planning going into this.
'Richard is brilliant but Richard still has questions that need answering and it's trying to keep everyone happy.
'It's still quite daunting and it still gives me quite a few sleepless nights.'
The builder admitted it was 'quite hard' to put the 'big, heavy slates' on the precarious farmhouse, known as Anty John's and near the Owen family's Ravenseat Farm.
Amanda and Owen split in 2022 after 22 years of marriage.

Dua Lipa brings out Jamiroquai at emotional Wembley debut

Dua Lipa treated fans to a surprise appearance by Jamiroquai, as she played her first ever show at Wembley Stadium. Bringing out the band's frontman Jay Kay for a one-off performance of his 1996 hit Virtual Insanity, the star said he was 'a massive trailblazer for British music".Their performance came half-way through a stunning two-hour show, that saw Lipa tear through hits like Physical, One Kiss, New Rules and Levitating. 'This is such a massive, massive milestone for me,' she told her 70,000 fans. 'I've had a lump in my throat from the moment this show started.' Some dedicated fans had camped out since Thursday to see the singer's UK stadium debut, braving temperatures that exceeded 31C. 'It means the absolute world to me that you're here tonight,' she told them during the show. 'It feels like I've waited my whole life for this moment.' Reflecting on her ascent to the top tier of pop music, the 29-year-old added: 'It's been 10 years since our first ever London show, which happened to be about 350 people, and I dreamt of a night like this.''To be in front of 70,000 people. I'm so, so blown away." She then introduced one of her earliest singles, Hotter Than Hell, telling fans it was the track that had earned her a recording contract. Since then, she has stockpiled an enviable selection of armour-played hits, most of which got an airing on Friday night. The show began with a new-agey wash of ocean sounds, that segued seamlessly into her 2024 single, Training Season. Lipa sang the first verse slowly, over a sultry orchestral backing. But before long, the band kicked into gear, and the disco pulse barely let up for the next two hours. In many respects, the set played like an extended remix of her triumphant Glastonbury performance last year - full of pin-sharp choreography and fiercely futuristic pop. Her voice remains a strong point - resonant and flexible, with a hint of the rasp she inherited from her father, Albanian rock singer Dukajin Lipa. It was particularly effective on the cascading vocal runs of Falling Forever, and the Flamenco-flavoured Maria. Somehow, Lipa managed not to lose her breath, despite demanding, body-rolling dance routines that only occasionally recalled Jane Fonda's 1980s keep fit videos. She leaned into the schtick with an interlude instructing her fans to "move those hips" over the intro to Physical. Jay Kay arrived to a scream of recognition from older members of the audience, suited up in a tasseled white cowboy jacket and pink jeans. "What a privilege and an honour to be on stage with you," said the singer, before launching into Virtual Insanity - a song that became a hit when Dua was just one year songs, the star spent time getting personal with fans in the front row - borrowing their phones to pose for selfies, signing records (side note: who on earth brings a vinyl record to the front row of a stadium concert?) and even appropriating one person's scarf to accentuate her own stage outfit. It was a simple, but personal, touch that helped to illustrate why the star has become only the second British woman after Adele to headline Wembley Stadium. Watched from the stands by her family, including fiancé Callum Turner, she wrapped up the show with a flawless four-song encore that included some of her biggest hits: New Rules, Don't Start Now and Dance The finished with the psychedelic pop smash Houdini, ratcheting up the tension with a flurry of fireworks as she head-banged to a shredding guitar solo. Then the music suddenly stopped and she vanished in a cloud of smoke. A powerhouse performance from a star at the top of their game, it was proof that you don't need giant mechanical props or cutting edge video technology to pull off a compelling stadium show. Sometimes, the right songs, the right choreography and a generous helping of feel-good energy are enough. As an added bonus, that keeps the tickets affordable: The most expensive seats cost £155, compared to some stadium shows this summer, where prices have topped £900. Lipa continues her Radical Optimism tour with a second night at Wembley on Saturday, followed by dates in Liverpool and London before the North American leg kicks off in September. England football star Kieran Trippier and his wife 'to divorce' - after he broke his silence on their marriage split

English ace Kieran Tripper and wife Charlotte are divorcing, according to reports. The Newcastle United right-back revealed earlier this week that he split from his wife Charlotte more than a year ago. But a source said that the pair are definitely committed to making the separation permanent, the Sun has now reported. Trippier, 34, married Charlotte in Cyprus in 2016 and the couple have three children togther, Jacob, and two daughters, Esme and Isla. The source said: 'Charlotte has been open with her friends about getting a divorce. She has been seeking legal advice and is keen to move on with her life. 'Kieran is a devoted dad but as a partner it hasn't worked out as Charlotte had hoped. 'She has moved house and started anew, so getting a divorce has been the next logical step. Charlotte wants to keep things as amicable as possible with Kieran.' The 34-year-old football star said on Wednesday in a statement on Instagram stories: 'I feel I have no choice but to confirm publicly that myself and Charlotte separated over a year ago. 'Myself and Charlotte separated over a year ago. I have not commented previously as it is a private matter and we want to protect our children.' Kieran and Charlotte married in 2016 and sources say that they were keen to keep their split a secret so their kids would not have to deal with any upset. However, it has been reported that Charlotte has a new property where she lives without Kieran. Rumours of their split began during last year's Euros in Germany when Charlotte unfollowed her husband on Instagram on the end of the England's final group game. She also did not jet to Germany like other WAGs. She then posted a cryptic message on social media, saying: 'Sooner or later you get over the s*** you swore you'd never get over and it's the best feeling in the world.' Further posts included the caption 'the sun is shining, happy Monday', where Charlotte was seen sitting in the car listening to music while she waited to pick up her children from school. Meanwhile, the footballer, 34, was reportedly seen mingling in Ibiza with another woman this week. The Newcastle United player was spotted partying with Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry and her pals including Love Island star Jess Harding at Ushuaia club on the White Isle. The sportsman announced his retirement from international football in August last year - with MailOnline revealing how he wanted to to focus on life outside the game following his marriage breakdown. MailOnline has approached representatives of Kieran Trippier for comment, and also Charlotte Trippier.

Prince Harry is, famously, a man who bears a grudge. And in an interview with entrepreneur Emma Grede this week, the Duchess of Sussex revealed they have that peevish capacity in common. Grede asked Meghan on her Aspire podcast: 'If you could rewrite your public narrative from scratch, is there anything you would do differently?' Meghan replies: 'Yes. I would ask people to tell the truth.'
