The Mule Is All the Way Here in the Full ‘Foundation' Season 3 Trailer
The full trailer for Foundation season three is here, and while it features plenty of Lee Pace in all his Space Jesus glory, it also gives fans the best look yet at a very important character: the Mule, played by Game of Thrones' Pilou Asbæk.
We hesitate to call the Mule a 'new' character—he did pop up a few times in season two—but he was played by a different actor and was more of a nightmare-haunting presence than an active part of the narrative. Clearly, though, he's going to propelling all kinds of trouble moving forward.
Much like previous genre favorites The Expanse and The Wheel of Time (RIP), Foundation is one of those shows that started strong but has gotten even better as it's gone on. Season two lightened up a lot, both in the show's tone and the amount of exposition it had to dig through as part of its Isaac Asimov-inspired time-jumping story. That escalation of entertainment—while still remaining exciting and emotional—looks like it continues in season three.
'Set 152 years after the events of season two, the Foundation has become increasingly established far beyond its humble beginnings while the Cleonic Dynasty's Empire has dwindled,' reads the official synopsis. 'As both of these galactic powers forge an uneasy alliance, a threat to the entire galaxy appears in the fearsome form of a warlord known as 'The Mule' whose sights are set on ruling the universe by use of physical and military force, as well as mind control. It's anyone's guess who will win, who will lose, who will live and who will die as Hari Seldon, Gaal Dornick, the Cleons, and Demerzel play a potentially deadly game of intergalactic chess.'
New faces joining the show along with Asbæk include including Cherry Jones, Brandon P. Bell, Synnøve Karlsen, Cody Fern, Tómas Lemarquis, Alexander Siddig, and Troy Kotsur. Returning cast members alongside Pace include Jared Harris, Lou Llobell, Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann, and Rowena King.
Apple TV+ also released some new images to go with the trailer, teasing some new faces (and a few familiar ones) we'll be meeting when the show returns July 11.

A Jeep drove onto the National Mall, weaving around a summer crowd
Ferdous Al-Faruque and his date were running late. It was their second date. They had tickets to Sally's Night — an annual event honoring Sally Ride, the first American woman in space — on Saturday at the National Air and Space Museum and had just finished getting drinks at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern on the opposite side of the National Mall.

Foundation Season 3 is almost here, and it's shaping up to be a wild ride through Isaac Asimov's galaxy-spanning universe. Apple TV+'s epic adaptation has us hooked, and with a confirmed premiere date, fresh faces joining the cast, and a big bad villain stealing the spotlight, there's a lot to unpack. So, grab a coffee, and let's dive into everything we know about Foundation Season 3. Foundation Season 3 Release Date Circle July 11, 2025, on your calendar, because that's when Foundation Season 3 hits Apple TV+. We're getting 10 episodes, kicking off with the premiere, then rolling out every Friday until the big finale on September 12, 2025. Trust me, you'll want to clear your Friday nights for this one. Foundation Season 3 Plot Details Season 3 jumps 152 years after Season 2's cliffhanger, and the galaxy's in a whole new mess. The Foundation's no longer a scrappy underdog—it's a powerhouse now. But the Cleonic Dynasty? Yeah, their Galactic Empire's crumbling faster than a bad hologram. Enter the season's big bad: The Mule, a warlord with scary-good psychic powers and an army that could make Darth Vader sweat. Played by Pilou Asbæk (you know, that guy from Game of Thrones ), The Mule's out to conquer everything, and the trailer's giving us chills with psychic showdowns against Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell). We're also seeing Brother Day (Lee Pace, still stealing scenes) scheming like the galaxy's shadiest politician. Oh, and Hari Seldon's legacy (Jared Harris, being all wise and digital) gets a boost with a new psychohistorian, Dr. Ebling Mis, digging into his work. The show's pulling from Asimov's Foundation and Empire , especially The Mule's arc, but it's not afraid to go off-book. Remember Demerzel's backstory in Season 2? That was pure TV magic, and Season 3's mixing more of that original spice with classic Asimov vibes. Expect alliances crumbling, space battles that'll make your jaw drop, and twists that'll have you yelling at your screen. Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin, whose fate is tied to The Mule's rise. Rowena King as Queen Sareth, adding political intrigue. New Cast : Pilou Asbæk ( Game of Thrones ) as The Mule, the season's primary antagonist. Cherry Jones ( Succession ) as Foundation Ambassador Quent, a diplomatic powerhouse. Troy Kotsur ( CODA ) in a yet-to-be-revealed role, bringing his Oscar-winning talent. Brandon P. Bell ( Dear White People ) as a new character adding depth to the story. Alexander Siddig ( Star Trek: Deep Space Nine ), transitioning from Advocate Xylas to Dr. Ebling Mis, a Seldon devotee. Cody Fern ( American Horror Story ), Synnøve Karlsen ( Last Night in Soho ), and Tómas Lemarquis ( Blade Runner 2049 ) in undisclosed roles. This ensemble ensures Foundation Season 3 delivers powerhouse performances, with The Mule's casting generating significant buzz among fans. 44 Photos That Scream "Only Straight People"
Only a straight person would name their child "SEXY." Or think this is funny and not at all creepy. Have fun getting stuff in your eyes! Why are we ascribing gender to household objects? Or drugs? What about this is feminine? How did it "get him through a lot"??? Well, this woman dodged a bullet. And they say it's queer people who are sexualizing children. Ew. Ew again!!!! I swear, straight people are obsessed with genitals. If I were married and my husband bought us these, I'd file for divorce. Fellas, is it gay to not want to ruin your shoes? Wasn't Narcissus a man? Why do you feel the need to broadcast this messed-up take to every person who sees your car? Red meat isn't for women! Their sensitive, girlish stomachs can only handle leaves! I didn't realize you were supposed to throw out all your lingerie and get new sets after a breakup. Well, this is horrifying. Why would you put this on your car??? Who thought this was a good idea??? Someone tell this to all the male fiction authors. Imagine your sense of self being this fragile that you need to affirm it through going to a specific barber and also leaving this ridiculous review. You heard it here first, folks: men aren't allowed to ride bikes, use a credit card, live in an apartment, or USE FORKS OR GLASSES. They even have to Haha, sexual assault is so funny! This is the correct response. If you feel this way about your wife, why are you with her? Just get a divorce, not a kitschy object that says "I hate my wife." DIVORCE!!! The only answer is divorce. No one's forcing you to be with women. And if you're a woman who sees men like don't have to date them! Because all little girls should aspire to marry a man as their biggest goal. no. I feel terrible for every woman this man has ever been with. If you have to do this to get household chores done, it's over. There are so many things wrong with this, I don't even know where to start. Same with this. "Your line"??? What is this, Game of Thrones? I'm not gonna enter the circumcision debate, but you gotta admit, this is a SUPER creepy way to think about it. Haha, women make no sense! It makes me sad for men that some male-dominated industries (in this case, construction) are like this. And you think drag queens are predators??? And straights need better sex education.
