Menter Môn Pushes Ahead with Hydrogen Hub Development

Ambitions to establish a significant hydrogen production facility in North Wales have taken a step forward with the acquisition of additional land next to the Holyhead Hydrogen Hub site.
As part of the region's transition to low-carbon energy and sustainable infrastructure, the extended site now covers 24 acres at Parc Cybi, Holyhead. The development includes two main sites, with planning permission already in place for a 1MW electrolyser on the original plot. The second is a much larger site, offering the potential to scale up hydrogen production significantly in the future.
Part of this land is being actively considered for further development. However, the Hub developer, local social enterprise, Menter Môn stresses that this remains subject to planning approvals and stakeholder engagement. Graham Morley and Dafydd Gruffydd
Graham Morley, Project Manager for the Menter Môn scheme, said:
'This is a key milestone for the future of clean energy in North Wales. Expanding the footprint of the Holyhead Hydrogen Hub gives us the opportunity to plan for a larger facility, potentially producing five to ten times more green hydrogen – which could power local transport, industry, and jobs for years to come.'
Dafydd Gruffydd, Mangin Director at Menter Môn added:
'We're proud to be leading this project with our partners, but we're also mindful of the need to grow in a responsible, phased way. We're still in early stages with the newly secured land, and any development will be carefully planned and consulted on with the community and stakeholders.'
As part of Menter Môn's energy portfolio of projects, the Hydrogen Hub is set to play a vital role in decarbonising transport and industry in north Wales, while supporting local economic growth and contributing to national net-zero targets. Mr Clifford said it is a 'life-changing amount of money', but the National Lottery will support the winner. The shop owner said he will use 25,000 euros in prize money for the shop to have a 'big celebration' with the staff. He said there was a 'great buzz' and 'a lot of people around' following the announcement. The winner of the jackpot has already contacted the National Lottery. It is the 18th Irish winner and the largest ever Irish win of the EuroMillions jackpot. The winning numbers from Tuesday's draw were 13, 22, 23, 44 and 49, with lucky stars 3 and 5. Earlier in the week, Cian Murphy, chief executive of the Irish National Lottery, had offered advice to the then-unidentified winner, urging them to "stay calm" as the "massive" win could come as a shock. The EuroMillions jackpot is capped once it reaches 250 million euro – or £208 million on current currency conversions. This jackpot reached the maximum amount on Friday June 6 after rolling over several times. In total, more than 92,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games. Morocco's annual inflation drops to 0.4% in May

RABAT, June 20 (Reuters) - Morocco's annual inflation, measured by the consumer price index, dropped to 0.4% in May from 0.7% a month earlier, the North African country's statistics agency said on Friday. Food prices, the main driver of inflation, rose 0.5% from a year earlier, while non-food inflation increased 0.3%. Core inflation, which excludes more volatile goods such as food, was up 1.1% year-on-year and stable month-on-month.
