UFC returns to the UAE capital this summer with a blockbuster event set for July 26 at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
In collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the world's premier mixed martial arts organisation is bringing a thrilling lineup headlined by a high-stakes middleweight clash between former champion Robert Whittaker and fast-rising contender Reinier de Ridder.
Australia's Whittaker (27-8-0), the fifth-ranked middleweight challenger and one of the most respected fighters in the division, will look to reaffirm his elite status. Known for signature victories over the likes of Yoel Romero, Jared Cannonier, and Marvin Vettori among others, Whittaker aims to bounce back into title contention with a statement win in the desert.
Standing in his way is the surging Reinier de Ridder (20-2-0), a Dutch phenomenom, who has taken the UFC by storm since debuting in late 2024. De Ridder made headlines after handing previously unbeaten Bo Nickal his first professional loss, showcasing his world-class grappling and finishing prowess. With momentum on his side, de Ridder is eager to continue climbing the ranks by toppling the former champion.
The fight card also features several compelling matchups across multiple weight classes:
Nikita Krylov (30-10-0, Russia) returns to the octagon to face Bogdan Guskov (17-3-0, Uzbekistan) in a light heavyweight showdown, as Guskov looks to extend his winning streak.
In the flyweight division, Ramazan Temirov (19-3-0, Uzbekistan) squares off against Kazakhstan's Asu Almabayev (21-3-0) in a contest that promises speed and high-level technique.
Also in the light heavyweight division, Turkish knockout artist Ibo Aslan (14-2-0) takes on Billy Elekana (7-2-0) from Las Vegas in a matchup that has 'Fight of the Night' potential. With a mix of veteran names and rising stars, UFC Abu Dhabi is shaping up to be a can't-miss summer spectacle for fight fans around the globe.

First-ever T20 triple Super Over as Netherlands beat Nepal
The Netherlands beat Nepal but needed a record-breaking three Super Overs to clinch victory in their Twenty20 tri-series match in Glasgow on Monday, the first time a triple Super Over has been seen in T20 or limited-overs cricket. The Dutch posted 152 for seven and appeared set for the win as Nepal required 16 runs from the final over, but Nandan Yadav scored a boundary on the last ball to force a Super Over. Nepal made 19 runs which the Dutch matched thanks to Max O'Dowd hitting a six on the final ball, and a second Super Over was needed for only the second time in men's international cricket, after India and Afghanistan last year. The Netherlands, batting first, hit 17 runs and Nepal again stayed in the match after Dipendra Singh Airee hit a six on the last ball to mark the first instance of a third Super Over. It failed to live up to the drama of the previous two with Nepal failing to score a single run and with the Dutch needing just one run, Michael Levitt smashed a six to finally seal the win for the Netherlands. The Dutch, who lost their opening match of the series with Scotland on Monday, have a rest day on Tuesday to recover but Nepal are straight back into action against the Scots.

Netherlands and Nepal overdeliver in triple Super Over tussle
After 40 overs failed to separate the two teams in Glasgow, both scoring 152 in their respective innings, the teams walked back out for the first Super Over, both plundering 19 runs in six balls. Having taken the match to a second Super Over through a Max O'Dowd four, the Dutch batted first in the second Super Over, hitting 13 runs off the first three balls, though were held at the end of the over through a wicket to Lalit Rajbanshi to finish with 17. It was Nepal's turn to match the lofty six-ball score set, with Rohit Paudel and Dipendra Singh Airee combining with 17 between them, capped off with an Airee six to trigger unprecedented scenes in the international game. Eventually, it was the Dutch to hold their nerve, with Zach Lion-Cachet's spin taking two wickets and ending Nepal's third crack at breaking the deadlock, with the Dutch youngster also at the other end for Michael Levitt's six to finally finish proceedings. It's the first time a men's professional T20 match has needed a third Super Over across domestic, franchise, and International cricket.
