
Godrej launches first vertical storage warehouse in Bhiwandi
Godrej Consumer Products Limited has launched its first ever vertical storage warehouse in Maharashtra. Located in Bhiwandi, the new facility measures 2.84 lakh square feet and is part of the business' work towards improving operational efficiency.
'The launch of our first vertical storage warehouse is a transformative step in our journey toward building a smart, agile, and future-ready supply chain," said Godrej Consumer Products Limited's head of product supply organisation for India and SAARC Saurabh Jhawar, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. "In just 18 months under Project Parivartan, we have upgraded a majority of our key logistics hubs to Grade A facilities. This new warehouse in Maharashtra stands as a beacon of our commitment to operational excellence, digital integration, and sustainable growth- allowing us to serve our consumers with enhanced speed, safety, and care.'
Designed to contribute to modernising the fast moving consumer goods business' logistics infrastructure, the Bhiwandi facility houses a high-density G+6 vertical racking system which offers more than 3,200 pallet positions. The design aims to maximise storage capacity while occupying the smallest possible footprint.
The storage warehouse will connect with operations across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, and Gujarat as a distribution hub. Designed to process more than 60,000 cases each day, the facility features a range of automated systems and environmental sensors.

Showoffff sees revenue cross Rs 200 crore in FY25
Bengaluru-based men's and women's fashion brand Showoffff surpassed Rs 200 crore in revenue in the 2025 financial year, following a strategic brand refresh aimed at deepening its connection with India's youth-driven retail market. The repositioning helped the label cross 10.5 lakh monthly website visits and achieve a 61% rise in digital engagement, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. Gross merchandise value across online and offline channels rose 75%, contributing to the brand's strongest fiscal performance to date. Looking ahead, Showoffff plans to triple its digital customer base, launch Luxe Collection lines, and expand into lifestyle categories such as wellness resorts and real estate, while reinforcing its fashion credentials through sustainability and accessible pricing. Renamed from Showoff to Showoffff, the brand now targets Gen Z and millennial shoppers through inclusive sizing, gender-neutral silhouettes, and limited-edition drops. 'We have decoded what Gen Z and young millennials truly want," said the brand's founder Priya Shah. "Every element has been curated to capture the spirit of current fashion culture in India." Founded in 1993 with a 200 square foot store in Bengaluru's Jayanagar, Showoffff now operates 22 outlets across Karnataka and Maharashtra, with a total retail footprint of over 500,000 square feet. The brand also retails via its direct to customer website and on e-commerce platforms including Amazon and Myntra, according to its website.

Bata Global's CEO Sandeep Kataria steps down from role
Sandeep Kataria has stepped down from his role as global chief executive officer of Bata Corporation. The Swiss-headquartered footwear company is in the process of finalising a succession plan, with Kataria expected to stay on for the next six months to support a smooth transition. Kataria, who became the first Indian to lead Bata's global operations, is leaving to explore other professional opportunities, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. His next move has not yet been disclosed. The executive joined the business eight years ago and was initially appointed to lead Bata India. Under Kataria's leadership, the Indian market was repositioned as a key design and sourcing hub for the brand. He took over as global CEO in 2020 and has been credited with revitalising the company's brand image and retail strategy across multiple markets. Before Bata, Kataria held senior roles at Unilever, Yum Brands, and Vodafone across India and Europe. His cross-industry experience helped steer the company through changing consumer habits and post-pandemic recovery. Bata is expected to formally announce the leadership change this week. With over 130 years of brand history, Bata operates in more than 70 countries and manages a diversified portfolio through its Bata, Bata Industrials, and AW Lab business units.
