This AI-powered tool offers a faster, smarter method for air travellers to determine whether they are eligible for flight compensation in less than two minutes.
The Flight Navigator makes it simple for passengers to build their trip and determine what part of their itinerary caused the disruption to their travel plans. With more than $350 million in potential compensation every day, the tool helps travellers claim what they're owed. It checks the fine print against international passenger rights legislation, like those in Canada and Europe, and immediately informs passengers if they might be eligible to claim up to $1,000 each in compensation.

To aid this next stage of growth, airfairness has acquired FlightorFight.ai, a New York-based travel tech AI startup founded by Máuhan M. Zonoozy, the former Head of Innovation at Spotify.

Zonoozy and his protégé, Chloe Meuse, were inspired by the massive impact of the CrowdStrike outage in July 2024, which stranded millions of airline passengers. Over a single weekend, they built and launched a tool to help passengers. The site quickly caught fire after Zonoozy mentioned it on LinkedIn. The post caught Marzo's eye, and within 11 LinkedIn comments, the value was realized, and the acquisition was closed.
This deal strengthens airfairness' ability to navigate aviation data and real-time analytics and decipher complex flight information. Its intelligent tools work together to reveal the real reasons behind delays.

'It's a big undertaking, but it was also an existential threat to the entire refuge,' said Stacy Funderburke, the Conservation Fund's vice president for the central Southeast. 'We've done larger deals for larger acres, but dollar-wise this is the largest deal we've ever done in Georgia.' A Twin Pines spokesman did not immediately respond to an email message seeking comment. Twin Pines of Birmingham, Alabama, had worked since 2019 to obtain permits to mine titanium dioxide, a pigment used to whiten products from paint to toothpaste, less than 3 miles (5 kilometers) from the southeastern boundary of the Okefenokee refuge near the Georgia-Florida line. The Okefenokee is the largest U.S. refuge east of the Mississippi River, covering nearly 630 square miles (1,630 square kilometers) in southeast Georgia. It is home to abundant alligators, stilt-legged wood storks and more than 400 other animal species. The mine appeared to be on the cusp of winning final approval early last year. Georgia regulators issued draft permits in February 2024 despite warnings from scientists that mining near the Okefenokee's bowl-like rim could damage its ability to hold water and increase the frequency of withering droughts. Regulators with the Georgia Department of Environmental Protection agreed, concluding last year that mining should have a 'minimal impact' on the refuge. It said the company was informed of the requirement 16 months ago.

Billions of login credentials have been leaked online, Cybernews researchers say
NEW YORK — Researchers at cybersecurity outlet Cybernews say that billions of login credentials have been leaked and compiled into datasets online, giving criminals 'unprecedented access' to accounts consumers use each day. According to a report published this week, Cybernews researchers have recently discovered 30 exposed datasets that each contain a vast amount of login information — amounting to a total of 16 billion compromised credentials. That includes user passwords for a range of popular platforms including Google, Facebook and Apple. Sixteen billion is roughly double the amount of people on Earth today, signaling that impacted consumers may have had credentials for more than one account leaked. Cybernews notes that there are most certainly duplicates in the data and so 'it's impossible to tell how many people or accounts were actually exposed.' It's also important to note that the leaked login information doesn't span from a single source, such as one breach targeting a company. Instead, it appears that the data was stolen through multiple events over time, and then compiled and briefly exposed publicly, which is when Cybernews reports that its researchers discovered it. Various infostealers are most likely the culprit, Cybernews noted. Infostealers are a form of malicious software that breaches a victim's device or systems to take sensitive information. Many questions remain about these leaked credentials, including whose hands the login credentials are in now. But, as data breaches become more and more common in today's world, experts continue to stress the importance of maintaining key 'cyber hygiene.' If you're worried about your account data potentially being exposed in a recent breach, the first thing you can do is change your password — and avoid using the same or similar login credentials on multiple sites. If you find it too hard to memorize all your different passwords, consider a password manager or passkey. And also add multifactor authentication, which can serve as a second layer of verification through your phone, email or USB authenticator key. The Associated Press
