Campaign launched to protect Hindus, says Pravin Togadia
Praveen Togadia, president of Antarashtriya Hindu Parishad, said on Friday that Hindu Suraksha Abhiyan has been launched across the country for the protection of the Hindu community.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr. Togadia said the campaign revolves around four key issues for which they are drumming up support from the community members across the country.
He said there should be a law to control population so that there was no demographic shift, and the Hindus remain in majority.
For this to happen, every Hindu couple should have at least three children, failing which there was a threat of Hindus being reduced to a minority, Mr. Togadia said.
He said infiltrators should be identified and deported. Mr. Togadia called for freeing Hindu temples from government control, and the issue will be taken up as part of the campaign.
He said nearly one lakh Hanuman Chalisa Centres will be opened to network and unite Hindus. The centres will not only provide religious education to the Hindus but will teach them self-defence, provide legal services, ration for the poor, health services, etc.

Udupi in-charge minister calls Hindu activist Sulibele a ‘liar'
Udupi district is witnessing a political row after district in-charge minister Laxmi Hebbalkar on Friday accused Hindu activist and author Chakravarthy Sulibele of spreading 'lies' and warned against attempts to disturb communal harmony during his upcoming public events. Hebbalkar, addressing reporters in Udupi, said, 'Udupi is a district of peace lovers. No one should be allowed to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere.' She added that while the Congress supports freedom of expression and constitutional values, it does not condone hate speech. Her remarks came a day after Kundapur police served Sulibele a notice ahead of his three-day lecture series at Mogaveera Bhavana in Kundapur from June 20 to 22. The event, organised by Yuva Brigade, is themed 'Let us rest only after making a unified greater India' (Akhand Bharat). Sulibele is scheduled to speak at 6 pm on all three days. The police advisory instructs Sulibele to restrict his speech to the announced topic and avoid political commentary. Organisers have also been directed to provide details of guests and ensure compliance with Supreme Court guidelines regarding public gatherings. The responsibility for maintaining peace has been placed on the organisers. The police action follows a memorandum submitted by local leaders of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), who urged officials not to grant permission for the event. Reacting to the notice, Sulibele described it as an attempt to curtail his freedom of expression. In a statement, he said, 'Is there a new law in Karnataka banning people from speaking about politics? By that logic, I cannot refer to Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi—or even Ghazni, Ghori and Aurangzeb.' He termed the development 'disturbing' and claimed it violated the constitutional right to free speech. Police have so far not indicated any formal restrictions on the event but reiterated that any deviation from approved topics or incitement to disharmony would invite legal action.

HC issues notice to SP over midnight raids on RSS activists
Bengaluru: The High Court on Friday issued a notice to the Superintendent of Police (SP), Mangaluru, in connection with midnight raids conducted on the residences of Hindu activists and RSS leaders in the communally-sensitive Mangaluru district. A Division Bench headed by Justice Sunil Dutt issued the notice on Friday. Senior Counsel Arun Shyam appeared on behalf of the petitioner in court. The High Court has directed SP K. Arun to submit all related documents concerning the raids. The court further cautioned the police department against taking any action that violates the law. The order was passed while hearing a petition filed by U.G. Radha, a resident of Uppinangady in Mangaluru district, who challenged the police action. Radha, a senior citizen, alleged that on the night of June 1, police personnel arrived at her residence and uploaded the photograph in this connection to a departmental app. She submitted to the court that when she questioned their actions, the police claimed they were acting on orders from senior officers. She further stated that the officers did not show any documents authorising the action.

YSRCP hindering State's progress, flays Anand Surya
Mangalagiri: TDP State vice-president Vemuri Anand Surya on Friday accused YSRCP leaders of hindering the State's progress and engaging in malicious campaigns against the new alliance government. Addressing the media at the party headquarters here, Anand Surya stated that while former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy promised 'Amma Vodi' to everyone but failed to deliver, the coalition government, upon assuming power, has successfully implemented 'Thalliki Vandanam' crediting funds to accounts for all eligible children in a household. 'Realising that their political future would be bleak if these schemes continue uninterrupted, Jagan Reddy and his unruly mobs are now roaming under the guise of 'condolence visits,' he said. Surya didn't mince words when criticising YSRCP leaders regarding Tirumala. 'YSRCP leaders continue to accumulate sin by constantly leveling false accusations against Tirumala,' he asserted. Bhumana Karunakar Reddy must stop his false propaganda, he said. Surya specifically challenged Karunakar Reddy to explain the alleged misappropriation of gold meant for sacred 'Thalibottu' during his tenure as chairman. 'Karunakar Reddy himself should disclose how much gold was illicitly taken after being melted in Mumbai, under the pretext of 'wastage',' Surya demanded. He also accused YV Subba Reddy of hurting the sentiments of millions of devotees and Hindus by selling the deity's sacred prasadam at a sweet shop. He cited an incident where Rs 2 crore worth of talanilalu (devotee hair offerings) from Tirumala were illegally trafficked through Myanmar and Thailand to China, only to be intercepted by Assam Rifles. Surya recalled that the YSRCP's 'pink diamond' slander against Chandrababu Naidu was exposed when they withdrew their petition in court after coming to power. He also highlighted how the High Court intervened to stop the YSRCP's attempt to divert Rs 5,000 crore from TTD's fixed deposits. Surya further alleged that the YSRCP brazenly allocated land to Sarada Peetham, disregarding regulations. Surya concluded by stating that YSRCP leaders were spreading false propaganda out of envy, unable to tolerate the growing reverence for TTD under the alliance government's rule. 'Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy faced his downfall, and Bhumana Karunakar Reddy will meet the same fate,' Surya warned.
