In line with growing demand for cost-effective and environmentally-friendly mobility solutions, Citroen India has launched the CNG variant of the C3 hatchback. Unlike factory-fitted kits, the CNG setup will be retrofitted at authorized Citroen dealerships across the country. These kits have been tested and approved by the company to deliver a fuel efficiency of up to 28.1 km/kg.
The CNG option will be available for select trims of the C3 — specifically, the Live, Feel, Feel(O), and Shine variants. All these models are powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The CNG upgrade is priced at ₹93,000, and while online bookings are not available, interested buyers can approach their local Citroen dealers to get the retrofit done.

Citroen has ensured that the addition of the CNG kit does not compromise the core performance or comfort that the C3 is known for. A dedicated switch allows drivers to easily toggle between petrol and CNG modes, offering added flexibility. Although the installation of the CNG tank results in a reduction of boot space, Citroen has engineered solutions to maintain the hatchback's drivability. The vehicle comes equipped with specially-tuned rear shock absorbers, reinforced suspension springs, and an anti-roll bar to manage the added weight of the CNG system.

Importantly, the CNG installation does not obstruct access to the spare wheel, highlighting Citroen's attention to detail in balancing practicality with performance. With this move, Citroen aims to tap into the growing market of fuel-conscious buyers while strengthening its foothold in the competitive hatchback segment.

Iran is considering closing the Strait of Hormuz: Reports

After the US airstrikes on its nuclear installations, Iran is considering closing the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most strategically vital chokepoints in the world, and any blockade by Tehran would pose serious risks for Europe, EuroNews reported on Sunday. Revolutionary Guard commander Sardar Esmail Kowsari told local media in an interview that closing the Strait of Hormuz "is under consideration, and Iran will make the best decision with determination," as per EuroNews. "Our hands are wide open when it comes to punishing the enemy, and the military response was only part of our overall response," added Kowsari, who is a member of Iran parliament in addition to his military position. Earlier on Sunday, US President Donald Trump said the "very successful" strikes had hit the Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan underground nuclear sites in Iran. According to EuroNews, Iran's short- and medium-range missiles would be capable of targeting oil infrastructure platforms, pipelines in the Strait, or even attacking commercial vessels, and surface-to-surface missiles could target tankers or ports along the Gulf. Airstrikes using aircraft and drones could disable navigation or radar equipment at major shipping ports in the region. Live Events Unmanned drones like Iran's Shahed models could potentially be used to attack specific shipping lanes or infrastructure in the Strait. Iran could attempt to deploy warships to physically block access to the Strait. In 2012, Iran launched a cyberattack on Saudi Arabia's oil industry, showing its growing capability in this domain, as per EuroNews. Blocking the Strait was one of the Iranian responses to the conflict, including terrorist acts on mainland Europe, which security expert Claude Moniquet cited in an interview with Euronews. It would be "a disaster for Europe", the former French intelligence officer said. Roughly 20 per cent of global oil and a significant portion of natural gas pass through the Strait. Europe imports oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Gulf states--Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE-- much of which travels through the Strait. If Iran blocks it, global oil prices would spike, and Europe could face energy shortages, especially in countries dependent on Middle Eastern fuel, as per EuroNews.

SOL launches certificate courses in 8 foreign languages

New Delhi: For students aspiring to master a foreign language while balancing their regular studies or professional commitments, 's School of Open Learning (SOL) is offering a flexible new opportunity. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now This year, for the first time, SOL launched certificate courses in eight foreign languages, inviting learners to step into a world of new cultures, careers, and connections. From Japanese to Spanish, and from French to Mandarin, the doors are open — and the race for admissions has officially begun. Interested candidates can submit their applications online till July 12. Following the application process, the first merit list will be published on July 17, while counselling and admissions based on the merit list will be conducted from July 18 to 20. The courses are being offered under the Centre for Indian Foreign Languages (CIFL), a specialised unit within SOL. This year, certificate-level programmes are available, and from the next academic year, diploma-level admissions will also be introduced, offering a pathway for students to deepen their proficiency. The eight languages being offered are Japanese, Korean, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin (Chinese), and Russian — languages that are increasingly sought after in global job markets and academic circles. "Recognising the diverse needs of learners, especially working professionals and college students, the classes will be conducted in a hybrid format, combining both offline and online sessions. Moreover, most classes will be scheduled on weekends, ensuring flexibility without compromising on the quality of instruction," said an official. The academic delivery of these programmes is overseen by faculty from Department of Romance Studies and Department of East Asian Studies, and the courses are approved by University Grants Commission. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now After completing the certificate course, students will have the opportunity to enrol in more advanced diploma-level courses in the same language. Admissions are open to all candidates who completed their Class XII education. Notably, there is no entrance exam; selection will be based purely on merit, allowing a fair and accessible entry process for all eligible applicants. These new courses were approved during the university's academic council meeting last month.

Anil Ambani beats Mukesh Ambani, set to create history, inks deal with company that makes...., the company is... In a major development for Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infrastructure, the company's shares have surged up to 4 percent in recent days, reaching an intraday high of Rs 403. The reason behind the sudden surge in the company's shares is a major deal. On Wednesday, Reliance Infra announced that it inked a deal with French giant Dassault Aviation. Reliance Aerostructure, which is a subsidiary company of Reliance Infrastructure, has entered into a partnership with French aircraft maker Dassault Aviation to manufacture Falcon 2000 business jets. These jets will be manufactured in India for global markets. Notably, Dassault Aviation is the French company that makes the powerful 4.5-generation fighter jet Rafale. The Partnership The partnership between Reliance Infra and Dasault Aviation is a significant step towards advancing the country's manufacturing capabilities in the aeronautics sector. The partnership is also important because Dassault Aviation is going to manufacture the Falcon 2000 jet outside France for the first time. The state-of-the-art assembly line for the aircraft will be set up in Maharashtra's Nagpur city. It is not a significant development for Reliance Infra but also for the Indian aeronautics and manufacturing industry. The agreement has made the way for India to join the club of countries manufacturing next generation business aircrafts along with major players like – US, France, Canada and Brazil. The Mega Plan Dassault Aviation and Reliance Aerostructures formed a joint venture (DRAL) in 2017. This venture immediately commenced operations at a new manufacturing facility in Nagpur, India. The facility will serve as Dassault Aviation's first Falcon aircraft assembly center outside of France, specializing in the Falcon 6X and Falcon 8X programs. What Did The Company Say? According to Eric Trappier, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dassault Aviation, 'This new agreement once again signals our firm intention to fulfil our 'Make in India' commitments and contribute to India's recognition as a key partner in the global aeronautical supply chain. This agreement will make the joint venture the first center of excellence for Falcon assembly outside France. This will eventually enable the establishment of the final assembly line for the Falcon 2000.' Reliance Group Founder Chairman Anil Ambani stated that the partnership with the French company is a milestone for the Reliance Group. 'Our partnership with Dassault Aviation is a milestone in the journey of the Reliance Group, as we work together to firmly establish India as an important hub in the global aeronautical value chain,' Ambani said. India's first domestically assembled Falcon 2000 is projected to take its maiden flight by 2028. This follows an announcement detailing the relocation and modernization of assembly operations, intended to meet increasing global demand. The expansion is expected to create hundreds of engineering and technical jobs over the next ten years.
