Helen Hunt stuns in bikini after rejecting pressures of Hollywood beauty standards

Fox News4 days ago

Helen Hunt recently shared a candid take on how Hollywood's unattainable beauty standards negatively impacted her mental health.
Hunt, 62, looked effortlessly cool as she slipped into the sea wearing a retro-inspired bikini after earning a coveted award at the Taormina Film Festival.
The "Hacks" actress sported a vibrant yellow bikini top paired with green floral bottoms while relaxing by the ocean.
Hunt was honored this week in Italy with a lifetime achievement award at the Taormina Film Festival.
"It is an honor for us to welcome Helen Hunt to Taormina. Her presence represents a bridge between great international cinema and the eternal beauty of our land. With her elegance, multifaceted talent and artistic consistency, Helen embodies the values that our Festival wants to celebrate: passion, commitment and love of cinematic storytelling," Tiziana Rocca, Artistic Director of Taormina Film Festival, told Variety.
"The Lifetime Achievement Award is a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute to an artist capable of inspiring generations of viewers and colleagues."
Additional honorees included Martin Scorsese, Michael Douglas and Catherine Deneuve.
The "Mad About You" star revealed earlier this month that she felt "misery and shame" in the early stages of her career due to her physical appearance.
"It felt impossible not to internalize the way you're supposed to look," Hunt said. "And [there was] a certain amount of misery and shame around not looking exactly that way."
Hunt added, "I realized, 'This could quietly ruin your whole life.' I made a decision: I'm not playing. Not gonna [let it] take up a lot of space in my mind."
The "As Good As It Gets" actress said her approach was influenced by "The Only Diet There Is," a book written by the spiritual leader Sondra Ray.
"What I took from it is, eat what you want and love every bite, period," she said.

Umit Benan Spring 2026 Menswear Collection

Umit Benan returned to Via Bigli with more than just a new address: Spring 2026 marks a pivotal moment for the brand, with the opening of its flagship store and the full-scale debut of womenswear. 'It's destiny,' Benan said with a smile. 'I had my first home here in 2005. In 2010 I presented a project with Nino Cerruti in this very same building.' Now supported by D Capital and having welcomed his newborn son just days before the launch, the designer has come full circle, personally and professionally. Regarding the new womenswear, 'we want it to travel on its own,' Benan said. 'It's not about the wife of our man, but a woman with her own character.' Benan found inspiration in a surfer living in Biarritz—an athlete and muse behind the new women's pieces. 'I documented her life for months,' he said, Her easygoing lifestyle shaped the silhouettes: silk robes, fluid pants, terry cloth sets, bathing suits, and nylon raincoats. The result read like a cinematic take on island living: 'Think Point Break,' Benan added. Menswear evolved in parallel, with added focus on fits inspired by the women's line and Japanese denim. 'I wanted our jeans to feel more like Kevin Costner in Yellowstone than runway,' said Benan. Still, proportions retained a precise tension: cropped jackets, elastic-free piqué knits in treated silk, and anthracite gray as the grounding hue tying together both men's and women's offerings. Resortwear also expanded with 'Paradiso,' a new capsule of year-round pieces in faded tones: banana yellow, powder pink, baby blue. 'Paradiso is where I lived in Lugano. It's also my favorite word in Italian,' Benan said, revealing the tattoo etched on his arm. The newly opened store, just a few steps from the showroom, mirrors this intersection of memory and design. Conceived with architect Martin Brûlé, the space draws from Benan's childhood visits to his mother's multi-brand shop in Istanbul and his father's fabric-scouting trips. 'It had to feel lived-in,' the designer said. 'We even serve cocktails and caviar.' Mahogany wood, sand-toned carpets, and artworks curated by gallerist Thaddaeus Ropac (a friend and client) infuse the space with the same layered identity as the clothes. 'What you see here is everything I absorbed between the ages of eight and 13,' Benan said. 'It's my first real memory of fashion.'

MSGM Resort 2026 Collection

Gardening isn't MSGM's usual terrain; this is a label more at home among a downtown artsy crowd than at a plant nursery. But this season Massimo Giorgetti leaned into florals and a certain breezy lightness. Not because he's suddenly trading sneakers for Wellington's, but because, in a world that feels increasingly off-kilter, the always optimistic Giorgetti chose softness as a form of resistance, a kind of escapism that doesn't ignore the chaos, but dares to bloom in spite of it. Eschewing sugar coating, Giorgetti's take on gardening wear came with a more urban edge. Sturdy canvas morphed into roomy trousers and utilitarian dungarees, teamed with cropped, zippered blousons in waxed cotton that felt more street than shed. Shirts were a medley of broderie anglaise, macramé, and pinstriped poplin, thrown together almost haphazardly and worn over slouchy denim or matching micro-minis. Ballooning bloomers and poufy crinolines billowed from airy cotton taffeta, like hot air balloons poised to lift off over a lush, verdant oasis. Elsewhere, a belted trench and sharply tailored blazer in floral Gobelin tapestry borrowed their pockets from gardener's aprons. Bouquets of wildflowers blossomed on second-skin lycra tops; a graphic pop print of a flower-filled vase served pop-art punch. Even a classic tablecloth check was blown up across a duster and matching skirt. Life may not be a picnic, but against the odds, Giorgetti's cheeky garden was defiantly, merrily in bloom.
