Surveillance footage showed the Phenom 300 executive jet taking off from the runway as the chopper flew overhead.
They seemed to almost collide mid-air in terrifying scenes filmed at the Costa Esmeralda Airport in Porto Belo, south of São Paulo, Brazil, on Sunday.
The small airfield does not have a control tower.
After the footage was shared online, one local posted on X, 'Looks like a go-around by the aircraft on approach to accommodate the takeoff of the departing aircraft.
'Sequence spacing didn't quite work out.'
Another person said, 'Didn't they coordinate between aircraft?
'Someone screwed up.'
But another video, taken from a different angle, appeared to show that there was a much greater distance between the two aircraft.
The clip, filmed by Henrique Garcia, showed that the helicopter was further ahead of the jet than first thought.
Airfield administrator Tiago Neves said the two pilots were in contact throughout the takeoff, as reported by What's The Jam.
Six dead in San Diego plane crash as Cessna slams into ocean after pilot made haunting final call to air traffic control
He told local media, 'The occurrence is absolutely normal, the two aircraft were being coordinated, and the two pilots had communication with each other.
'The video that was released creates sensationalism as the angle makes it seem like the aircraft are very close, which does not correspond to reality.'
Neves pointed out that the airfield does not have a control tower, and pilots carry out procedures via communication and visual contact.
He said the helicopter's approach occurred outside the runway so as not to interrupt the jet's takeoff.
He added, 'It is common for the tower, when there is one, or the pilots themselves, when at uncontrolled airfields, to coordinate the approach.
'That's why the helicopter goes directly to the grassy area.
'Everything was done responsibly and within normal limits.'
The video surfaced just months after a Black Hawk crashed into a plane as it was landing in Washington DC.
The horrific accident left all 67 people on board the two aircraft dead.
And another helicopter wrecked in New York City in April, killing all six people on board.

Endangered shark spotted in shallow waters off British beach
Alex McGlynn, who has been fishing for 20 years, said he had never seen a tope shark off the Welsh coast - with the species listed as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List An endangered shark has been caught in shallow waters off a British beach by a stunned fisherman. Alex McGlynn, who has been fishing for 20 years, said he had never seen a tope shark in the area. They can grow up to six feet in length and primarily eat bony fish as well as crustaceans and cephalopods. Thankfully, the species of shark are not deemed aggressive and there are no records of attacks on humans. The species is listed as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List. Alex thinks the catch, which happened off the coast in Swansea, could be a good sign. "What a fish, I was absolutely buzzing," he told What's The Jam. It is rare to catch them off shallow beaches or off the shore entirely. "It shows that numbers are increasing or they are looking for alternative food sources due to a lack of their primary food source, mackerel, likely caused by overfishing. "Tope are generally a deep water shark, so you usually catch them off boats." Alex released the shark soon after catching it. He said it weighed about 40lbs. The tope shark can reach lengths of up to 6ft 3in - but despite their size, they are not threatening and have been spotted around the UK in the last few years. There has never been any record of an unprovoked tope attack on humans. In the past, tope were targeted for their high vitamin A content in their liver. They are protected in UK and EU waters and if caught on rod and line must be returned to the sea alive. It comes after beachgoers basking in the UK's sizzling temperatures in May were left stunned after spotting a shark dangerously close to two different shorelines. Shocking video footage captured the moment the 12-foot "mini-Jaws" swam just feet away from the shore at Aberystwyth's North Beach in Wales on Friday evening, with crowds gathering to watch as its fin emerged from the water. The mammal, thought to be a Porbeagle shark, was reported to wildlife rescue teams and the coastguard over fears it was ill or injured. As it swam dangerously close to the beach jetty, the animal was also feared to be at risk of beaching itself. As a result, the public were warned to stay away for their own safety and to prevent additional stress for the animal. Craig Roberts, who was in the area visiting his son at Aberystwyth University, saw the shark and said kids were jumping into the water moments before it emerged. He said: "We were on the pier and saw a bit of a commotion so went to have a look. Kids were jumping in the water just before it was spotted - they soon got out though."

Rowan has admitted that she is concerned that World War III is just around the corner, so is preparing how she sees fit. 'Gray-zone attacks are exactly what the name says – it's the gray area between a time of war and peace,' the homemaker and estate agent told NeedToKnow. 'It's something we preppers consider when stockpiling. 'They need to be taken extremely seriously, as the economic crash can be just as disastrous as an actual physical war. MacKenzie also revealed how many days' worth of items to have in your stockpile at the very minimum. '[You should] stockpile at least 72 hours' worth of essentials. 'This includes water, food, medications [and] power sources, such as rechargeable batteries," she explained. 'Keep a wind-up radio nearby to stay informed if the internet goes down. 'Learn basic first aid and fire safety. 9 The homemaker also has livestock, including chickens and ducks Credit: Jam Press 9 MacKenzie has been building her stockpile for over two years Credit: Jam Press 9 Her prepping came from fears surrounding 'World War III' Credit: Jam Press 'Practice emergency routines with household members, especially little ones. 'Get to know your local resilience forum and available services. 'As defense evolves, so too must public readiness.' Although gray-zone attacks might not involve tanks or other weaponry, their impact can be just as severe on society. Rowan, from the US, says her own prepping is no longer a hobby – she now considers it a necessity. She added: 'It's becoming more and more practiced worldwide. 'It never hurts to protect the people you love. 'Don't panic; make a list and execute. 'I've said it time and time again, you've got to be prepared for anything at any time.' 9 The homemaker has also stocked up on firearms and ammo Credit: Jam Press 9 MacKenzie has also provided advice for those looking to start their own stockpile Credit: Jam Press
