
Two Singapore restaurants are named in the World's 50 Best Restaurants 51-100 extended list for 2025
Every year, we wait in anticipation for the announcement of the World's 50 Best Restaurants to see which establishments from Singapore make it onto this world-acclaimed list. It's never really a matter of 'if', but 'how many'; After all, eating is one of the top pastimes of Singaporeans and our city is brimming with such a diverse line-up of cuisines and dining venues – the perfect representation of the multi-culturalism that we're known for.
Ahead of the official announcement of the top 50 on June 19, 2025, the World's 50 Best Restaurants 2025 extended list of 51 to 100 has just been revealed, and two from this Lion City have been named: modern Australian-style BBQ restaurant Burnt Ends (#93), and Labyrinth (#97) which prides itself on its 'new Singaporean cuisine'.
Both Burnt Ends and Labyrinth are no stranger to the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, having emerged at 68th and 92nd place respectively in last year's extended list. Admittedly, this is quite a drop for Burnt Ends in particular, both one-Michelin-star holders will have to work a little harder to maintain their top 100 placings in next year's edition of this food award ranking.
This year sees one less Singapore-based dining establishment on the 51 to 100 extended list, with Meta (#95 in 2024) making a disappearance. This can only mean one thing: It's either been bumped up to the top 50, or fallen off the list entirely. Only time will tell.
Last year, only one restaurant from Singapore made the top 50 ranking: Odette, one of the two long-standing F&B tenants at the National Gallery that remains after its refresh. The other five, which include rooftop bar Smoke & Mirrors and Cantonese restaurant Yan, have since made a sad exit from the museum.
Odette was crowned the Best Restaurant in Asia in 2023's awards. We'll be eagerly waiting to see if it remains in the top 50 global placings this year, and whether any other of our favourite restaurants will be joining the party.

Meghan had promised some 'delicious surprises' as she teased, earlier this week, that she would be offering some new products on the site. She previously said the original April launch had been 'absolutely extraordinary'. But she also spoke of her fear that she annoyed customers when the first batch of her jam and herbal teas sold out in less than an hour. She said wanted to wait until it is 'completely stable and we have everything we need'. In the run-up to her re-stock, Meghan shared a photo of jam-making preparations including bowls of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, and freshly squeezed lemons, on her Instagram stories, writing: ''June gloom?' Not over here! Because this month your favourite products are back.' Her official As Ever account also posted: 'To all who've been wondering and waiting, thank you! 'Your favourites are returning, plus a few NEW things we can't wait to show you. Coming this month … get excited!'

Gordon Ramsay reveals moment he 'collapsed' while holding his son for the first
Gordon Ramsay has opened up about the alarming moment he fainted during the birth of his fifth child, Oscar. The TV chef, 58, recalled the scary moment with a few chuckles in hindsight while appearing on a recent podcast. The Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares star was not present in the delivery room for the arrival of his first four children – Megan, 26, twins Jack and Holly, 25, and Tilly, 23 – at the request of his wife Tana, 50. 'Let's make one thing absolutely clear, my wife didn't want me in there,' Gordon explained on SmartLess podcast. 'First of all, [Tana] said, 'I want my mum and your mum in there, you're not going to see me in that state, that side of the curtain, get out of there.' That was her decision and I had to respect that decision. Talking about the arrival of Oscar in 2019, Gordon said: 'When I did finally arrive in the theatre for our fifth baby I collapsed like a wimp! I blacked out holding Oscar in the air.' Gordon explained how Oscar arrived via C-section – or 'through the sunroof,as he put it. The TV chef was then asked what song he wanted to listen to. 'There was a lot of commotion going on,' Gordon recalled, 'I said, 'Can you play Ed Sheeran?' so they started playing Ed. They turned up the volume. 'I saw two more doctors dive in, I looked on the floor and there was blood everywhere. All of a sudden they popped him out and they came straight over to me and I went, 'Wow, wow, wow!' I sat back and collapsed like an idiot.' The pair kept Tana's pregnancy with Jesse tightly under wraps until his arrival, with the mum-of-six taking to social media after he was born revealing they'd endured a 'nerve-wracking 9 months'. She also added: 'Ramsay family complete.' Talking on the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast in 2024, Tana opened up about Gordon's lack of presence in the delivery room. 'He would've gotten all squeamish and probably fainted and all the attention would've been on him, and this is my moment,' she said, mirroring Gordon's story hilariously closely.
