
Ministerial Development Council reviews developments in implementation of government projects
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, chaired the meeting of the Ministerial Development Council held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi. The meeting reviewed updates on the implementation of government projects and programmes and discussed several proposed regulatory decisions in various sectors of government work across the country.
The meeting agenda included discussions on draft legislation submitted by ministries and federal entities in the areas of the tax system and the capital market sector, as well as regulatory decisions related to government services provided to targeted groups, and matters concerning community development and higher education.
The council also reviewed the results of implementing several government policies and initiatives in industrial development, Emiratization, the labour market, and the state's efforts in adopting clean energy sources and enhancing energy efficiency. Additionally, it discussed the formation of several federal committees to accelerate the implementation of government projects. The council also addressed the recommendations of the Federal National Council regarding technical education, vocational training, and judicial training in the country.

Dr Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to President Sheikh Mohamed, also joined in paying tribute to Mr Obaidullah. 'My sincere condolences to the honourable Obaidullah family on the passing of our neighbour and honourable man, the late Mohammed Ibrahim Obaidullah, who was known for his outreach, charitable initiatives, and noble character,' he wrote on X. 'We ask God to have mercy on him and grant him Paradise, and to inspire his family and relatives with patience and solace.'

Ministerial Development Council reviews key government reports
The meeting's agenda included discussions on proposed regulatory decisions related to donation policies, the tax system, and government services. The Council also reviewed updates on the implementation of policies and programmes related to national housing, education, labour market, food safety, climate change and saving environment. And reviewed the achievements of 'Make it in the Emirates'. Ministries' and federal entities' reports on advancing the efficiency of the federal government sector were also reviewed. In governmental work affairs, the Council reviewed recommendations from the Federal National Council on bolstering the performance of public sector employees and strengthening the role of government media channels in protecting the national identity. The meetings also discussed the Federal National Council's requests regarding the government's efforts to improve the quality of life for People of Determination and ensure their inclusion in both education and the labour market.

FNC holds special UAE–EU session
The Federal National Council (FNC) held a special UAE–European session in Abu Dhabi on Monday, chaired by Speaker Saqr Ghobash, as part of its 18th legislative term. The high-level session welcomed Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, along with ministers, senior officials, EU ambassadors and European business leaders operating in the UAE. In his opening remarks, Ghobash welcomed Metsola and her delegation, stressing the UAE's commitment to dialogue and parliamentary cooperation. He said the session marks the start of deeper joint initiatives on global challenges such as peace, sustainable development and combating extremism. Ghobash also addressed urgent regional issues, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and a political resolution to the conflict.
