Plea to save Glasgow festival amid ticket sales struggle
Wasteland Festival, which was scheduled to take place between Friday and Sunday, June 6 and 8, 2025, was advertised as a vibrant event hosted across several Glasgow venues.
But, organisers today announced on Instagram that the celebration may no longer go ahead because of a lack of interest.
In an emotional statement, the officials said: "We have really been struggling with ticket sales, even after putting in a crazy amount of time, effort and a whole lot of money into both digital and physical marketing for the event, we're still sitting at less than 80 tickets sold for the event since October 18, when the tickets went live.
"It's extremely heartbreaking (and pretty embarrassing) to be where we are for this, after having the whole backlash from the venue change, it just seems this first edition is cursed from the get-go."
The note went on to say that if the festival were to go ahead now, the people behind it would be "financially destroyed".
It also stated that tickets will be available to buy for 24 hours, for those who wish to participate.
Wastelands would offer a selection of gigs, club spaces, locally-based craft vendors and more.

Supporters of the event were devastated in the comment section.
One person said: "I'm gutted for you guys, I have been buzzing for it since Xmas. Fingers crossed for you all."
Another added: "This is sad! I actually really fancied going to this but I had already bought a ticket to Primavera at the time and then Outbreak the week after. Is it maybe the time of year?"
A third commented: "That's a shame. I thought your posters and sales pitches looked good, but for me, the hardcore/heavy bands were not quite high enough calibre when we have the Unrest guys getting world-class acts into the city and the other genres not hugely my thing."

This High Street Brand Is Our One-Stop-Shop Ahead Of Festival Season
You missed out on Primavera, and weren't quick enough for Glastonbury, but this summer is still just getting started when it comes to festival season - and what that means is many, many outfits. Perhaps your wardrobe is already overflowing with crochet, denim, fringe and cowboy hats. If not, one high street retailer has everything you need: John Lewis. John Lewis has always been a go-to for winter coats and comfortable jeans but perhaps not for its gig-worthy 'fit this summer. AND/OR, which is just one of the retailer's in-house ranges, has everything you need for a very successful festival season, from versatile co-ords that can also double as grid-worthy holiday outfits to throw-on-and-go dresses that would clean up at a slightly more relaxed festival like Wilderness. In fact, in terms of pieces that can do the main stage justice as well as your main girls' holiday, AND/OR really couldn't be any better. First up, its co-ords. The Amalfi set is a personal favourite of Team Grazia , with a blue-and-white print that brings to mind the Mediterranean. The Amalfi Scarf Top could be paired with cargo shorts at Glasto, but also with the matching trousers the next time you're headed for a beach club. The Crochet Beach Vest, similarly, would look bang on trend with a cool and comfy pair of Bermudas (AND/OR's denim version has the below-the-knee hemline you're looking for). Longer dresses aren't usually the best idea for a field that could become a mud pool at the slightest drop of rain but if the forecast is dry, and you want a change from micro silhouettes, AND/Or's Milos Maxi Beach Dress would look fun with retro trainers, beaded necklaces and a baseball cap to protect your forehead. 1. I went to Primavera Sound — 1 artist stood out and it wasn't Charli XCX
Thousands of music fans descended upon Barcelona last week for the long-awaited 2025 edition of the festival, and for me, there was one musician that truly outshone the rest Festival season 2025 has well and truly kicked off, with Glastonbury, TRNSMT and All Points East just a few weeks away. And while these UK festivals all have their own unique merits, you really can't beat a festival abroad. Primavera Sound, which is held in Barcelona at the beginning of June every year, absolutely pulled it out of the bag with its line-up. The organisers always seem to know exactly what the people want, and this was especially true this time around, with Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan headlining those three nights at Parc Del Forum. It's a great time to be a pop fan, with these women and so many more artists consistently producing really great music. One such musician absolutely stole the show for me at Primavera, and I am very excited to see – and hear – a lot more of her in the coming months. Ciara Mary Alice Thompson, known professionally as CMAT, was the first act that we saw at Primavera Sound 2025 - and was undoubtedly one of, if not, the best of the weekend. Hailing from Dublin, the 29-year-old singer had the audience in an absolute chokehold for the entire set. She's been releasing music for a few years now, and dropped her first album, If My Wife New I'd Be Dead, back in 2022. However, you'd be forgiven for thinking she has decades of performing experience under her belt. Funny, charming and capable of writing some of the most poignant lyrics I've ever heard, it's no surprise that people have coined the term 'Summer of CMAT' thanks to her immense success at the moment. If you've been on TikTok recently then you've probably heard her smash hit, Take A Sexy Picture Of Me, and at least once attempted the dance that goes alongside the catchy clip. Created by social media star Sam Morris, the dance is affectionately known as the 'Woke Macarena', with CMAT and her fans breaking out the moves during every live performance of the song. But it's got a deep and sincere meaning too. The song was penned following a summer of touring and festival appearances in 2024, after which CMAT was criticised for her appearance by online trolls. "With the internet, every woman is now in the public eye. And no matter who you are, or what you look like, somebody will take umbrage with the fact that you even exist, and there's no escaping it," CMAT previously explained in a chat with NME. ''Take a Sexy Picture of Me' was born out of that, because I held back for so long; not out of frustration or sadness for myself, because I AM in the public eye, but I realised it's actually like this for every woman. "It's all women, all the time. That song is me calling out anyone who criticised my weight or how I looked… and it's one of the best songs I've ever made." And her fans seem to agree. It fitted perfectly into the setlist of tunes she played at the festival, such as the clever and witty I Don't Really Care For You and gut-wrenching finisher, Stay For Something. She set the bar incredibly high for the festival, and I only wish she'd been on the main stage so more people could have enjoyed the set. CMAT will play at Glastonbury this year, and she's also heading out on tour in autumn of this year for the Euro-Country Tour, named after her album set to be released in August.

Outbreak Festival 2025 in Victoria Park: set times, full lineup, tickets and everything you need to know
Last weekend (June 6-8), LIDO Festival made its debut in Victoria Park. Gig-goers enjoyed sets from Massive Attack, Jamie XX and Nia Archives as they welcomed the brand new event. This weekend (June 13-15) is set to be even bigger, as LIDO welcomes Charli XCX, London Grammar, and an entire sub-festival appropriately called 'Outbreak'. Outbreak Festival was born in Manchester in 2011, and, according to LIDO's organisers, 'has built a major platform to the UK's consistently thriving counterculture'. This year, it's making its way down to the capital and bringing with it a 'diverse and eclectic' host of underground bands and artists. This Friday, for one day only, Londoners will have the chance to experience Outbreak without getting a train up north. Here's everything you need to know about Outbreak at LIDO this weekend. When and where is Outbreak at LIDO Festival? Outbreak will be taking place in Victoria Park on Friday, June 13, ahead of the rest of LIDO's sets on Saturday and Sunday. It will take place in Victoria Park, in the same place and same stages as the wider LIDO fest. Timings Doors will open at 2.30pm, or 2pm if you have an advanced entry ticket. Headliners Alex G and Turnstile will take to the main stage at 7.35pm and 9.25 respectively. What's the full Outbreak LIDO lineup and set times? You can find the rest of the stage splits for the day below: Main Stage Mudi Sama: 2.35pm - 2.55pm Momma: 3.20pm - 3.50pm Fleshwater: 4.20pm - 4.50pm Julie: 5.20pm - 5.50pm Danny Brown: 6.20pm - 6.55pm Alex G: 7.35pm – 8.35pm Turnstile: 9.25pm – 10.55pm Stage 2 Kumo 99: 2.35pm – 3pm Drug Church: 3.30 – 4.05pm Speed: 4.35pm – 5.10pm Superheaven: 5.40pm – 6.10pm Glassjaw: 6.45pm – 7.30pm Knocked Loose: 8.15pm – 9.15pm Stage 3 They Are Gutting a Body of Water: 3.40pm – 4.10pm feeble little horse: 4.40pm – 5.10pm Jane Remover: 5.40pm – 6.10pm Model/Actriz: 6.40pm – 7.25pm Have A Nice Life: 8.15pm – 9.15pm Sunny Day Real Estate: 8.15pm – 9.15pm Festival map The festival map will be the same as the one for the rest of LIDO – you can have a look at it here. How to get to LIDO festival If you're travelling by tube, the best stations to get off at are Mile End (District, Central and Hammersmith and City lines) and Bethnal Green (Central line), both of which are within walking distance of Viccy Park. Just be aware that there are no night services on the Hammersmith and City or District lines. By bus, you can get any of the 8, 277, 309, 339, 388, D3 and D6 services, because they all have stops nearby the venue. If you are using public transportation, make sure to check before you travel, and have a look here for this weekend's disruptions. Are there any tickets left for Outbreak at LIDO Festival 2025? Yes, there are still tickets left for Outbreak, and you can buy them on the official LIDO website here. Day passes begin at £85.55. What's the weather looking like? The weather forecast is currently alright, although it could be better. There is a yellow warning for thunderstorms for Greater London starting from 3pm, but temperatures are looking like they'll be hitting mid-to-high twenties, so bring a light rain jacket to cover all bases. We also recommend you up to date with the latest weather forecasts before you leave for the event tomorrow. Afterparties If all of that somehow isn't enough, you can keep the party going at the Colour Factory, where DJs such as Kumo 99 and LustSickPuppy will be playing. You can grab your tickets for £13 here.
