Scoop27-05-2025

Udemy (Nasdaq: UDMY), a leading AI-powered reskilling platform, today announced the launch of the Udemy Innovation Studio, a major milestone in the company's evolution from an online marketplace to a skills-first platform built for the age of AI.
Created to fast-track the development and deployment of new AI capabilities across Udemy's two-sided platform, the Udemy Innovation Studio, connects millions of learners with a global community of expert content creators. It enables Udemy to rapidly prototype, test, and scale personalized, immersive, and outcome-oriented skilling experiences for both individuals and organizations. Its first release, AI for Business Leaders, is a next-generation reskilling program designed to help executives understand and apply AI in real-world business contexts. Looking ahead, the Studio is also developing AI-powered roleplay simulations and a VR public speaking tool, features that will bring scenario-based practice and immersive communication training to the platform.
'The Udemy Innovation Studio is where bold ideas to redefine the future of skilling and work come to life,' said Hugo Sarrazin, President and CEO of Udemy. 'AI is transforming what people need to know and how they apply that knowledge in every industry. The Studio is a core part of our evolution from a course marketplace to a trusted, AI-powered reskilling platform. It enables us to move faster, personalize more deeply, and scale more intelligently so we can better support the individuals and organizations who depend on Udemy to grow. Our learners and creators are essential partners in this journey: they help shape the platform, test new ideas, and drive the kind of skill development that leads to real outcomes, for careers, for businesses, and for the broader economy.'
First Release: 'AI for Business Leaders' Reskilling Program
As the Innovation Studio's first official release, AI for Business Leaders sets the tone for what's to come. This next-generation reskilling program is designed for non-technical executives seeking to lead effectively in an AI-powered workplace.
The course is led by Helen Lee Kupp, founder of Women Defining AI and co-founder of Future Forum, who brings deep expertise in organizational transformation and the future of work. It features a modular structure, real-time content updates, and AI-assisted learning journeys that adjust based on a learner's role, background, and goals.
The result is a more adaptive and relevant skilling experience that evolves with the pace of innovation.
Guiding Principles: Personalized, Multi-Modal, AI-Native Skilling
At the heart of the Innovation Studio is a core belief: skilling should meet people where they are and evolve with where they're going. To bring this vision to life, the Studio is focused on two core areas of experimentation:
Multi-Modal Learning Experiences: Moving beyond traditional video-based instruction, Udemy is experimenting with new content modalities such as real-time simulations, interactive assessments, modular pathways, and AI-guided practice environments.
Personalized AI Pathways: Using the power of AI large language models (LLMs), recommendation engines, and intelligent feedback loops supported by the vast network of instructors, Udemy is evolving personalized learning, focusing on adaptive journeys tailored to each learner's goals, proficiency, and progress.
Immersive, AI-Driven Features Are Already Underway
Beyond course content, the Innovation Studio is pioneering a wave of interactive, simulation-based tools designed to bring skill building closer to real-world practice. These include:
AI-powered roleplay simulations that help learners rehearse high-stakes conversations, such as job interviews, team feedback, and conflict resolution, within safe, realistic environments.
A VR public speaking simulator that immerses users in lifelike presentation settings, from boardrooms to auditoriums, to sharpen communication under pressure.
These innovations reflect a meaningful shift from passive content consumption to active, experiential skilling, bringing learners closer to the real-world scenarios where their skills will matter most.
More Innovation on the Horizon
The launch of AI for Business Leaders is just the beginning. Over the coming months, Udemy will introduce additional Innovation Studio pilots, new platform features, and AI-powered pathways to expand access to in-demand capabilities. Each release will be informed by direct learner and creator feedback, allowing Udemy to iterate quickly and stay closely aligned with market needs.
The Innovation Studio is not a standalone initiative; it is now embedded into Udemy's product and platform strategy. As a core operating function, it ensures that innovation is continuous, agile, and built into every aspect of how Udemy supports professional skilling at scale.

Nutanix Study Finds Public Sector Embraces Generative AI, But Faces Security, Skills, And Infrastructure Gaps

Sydney, NSW – June 18, 2025 – Nutanix (NASDAQ: NTNX), a leader in hybrid multicloud computing, announced the findings of its seventh annual global Public Sector Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) survey and research report, which measures enterprise progress with cloud adoption in the industry. The research showed that 83 per cent of public sector organisations have a GenAI strategy in place, with 54 per cent actively implementing, and 29 per cent preparing for implementation. As public sector organisations ramp up GenAI adoption, 76 per cent of IT decision-makers say their current infrastructure needs moderate to significant improvement to support modern, cloud native applications at scale. This year's public sector ECI found that infrastructure modernisation emerged as a top priority, underscoring the growing demand for systems capable of meeting GenAI's requirements for enterprise-ready data security, data integrity, and resilience. This year's report also revealed that public sector leaders are increasingly leveraging GenAI applications/workloads into their organisations. Real-world GenAI use cases across the public sector gravitate towards constituent/employee support and experience solutions (e.g., chatbots) and content generation. However, concerns remain with 92 per cent of public sector leaders highlighting the need for their organisations to do more to secure GenAI models and applications. The results of that need, according to 96 per cent of respondents, is security and privacy becoming higher priorities for their organisations. 'Generative AI is no longer a future concept, it's already transforming how we work,' said Greg O'Connell, VP, Federal Sales, Public Sector at Nutanix. '94 per cent of public sector organisations are already putting AI to work and expect returns in as little as one year. As public sector leaders look to see outcomes, now is the time to invest in AI-ready infrastructure, data security, privacy, and training to ensure long-term success.' Public sector survey respondents were asked about GenAI adoptions and trends, Kubernetes and containers, how they're running business and mission critical applications today, and where they plan to run them in the future. Key findings from this year's report include: GenAI solution adoption and deployment in the public sector will necessitate a more comprehensive approach to data security. Public sector respondents indicate a significant amount of work needs to be done to improve the foundational levels of data security/governance required to support GenAI solution implementation and success. 92 per cent of public sector respondents agree that their organisation could be doing more to secure its GenAI models and applications. Luckily, many IT decision-makers in the public sector are aware of this impending sea change, with 96 per cent of respondents agreeing that GenAI is changing their organisation's priorities, with security and privacy becoming higher priorities. Prioritise infrastructure modernisation to support GenAI at scale across public sector organisations. Running modern applications at enterprise scale requires infrastructure solutions that can support the necessary requirements for complex data security, data integrity, and resilience. Unfortunately, 76 per cent of respondents in the public sector believe their current IT infrastructure requires at least moderate improvement to fully support cloud native apps/containers. Furthermore, IT infrastructure investment was ranked as a top area of improvement among public sector respondents, a sign that IT decision-makers are aware of the need to improve. GenAI solution adoption in the public sector continues at a rapid pace, but there are still challenges to overcome. When it comes to GenAI adoption, public sector metrics show progress, with 94 per cent of respondents saying their organisation is leveraging GenAI applications/workloads today. Most public sector organisations believe GenAI solutions will help improve levels of productivity, automation, and efficiency. However, organisations in the public sector also note a range of challenges and potential hindrances regarding GenAI solution development and deployment, including data security and privacy, and the need for continued upskilling and hiring to support new GenAI projects/solutions. Application containerisation and Kubernetes deployment are expanding across the public sector. Application containerisation is increasingly pervasive across industry sectors and is set to expand in adoption across the public sector as well, with 96 per cent of segment respondents saying their organisation is at least in the process of containerising applications. This trend may be driven by the fact that 91 per cent of respondents in the public sector agree their organisation benefits from adopting cloud native applications/containers. For the seventh consecutive year, Nutanix commissioned a global research study to learn about the state of global enterprise cloud deployments, application containerisation trends, and GenAI application adoption. In the Fall of 2024, U.K. researcher Vanson Bourne surveyed 1,500 IT and DevOps/Platform Engineering decision-makers around the world. The respondent base spanned multiple industries, business sizes, and geographies, including North and South America; Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA); and Asia-Pacific-Japan (APJ) region. Datadog Expands Log Management Offering With New Long-Term Retention, Search And Data Residency Capabilities

Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ: DDOG), the monitoring and security platform for cloud applications, today at DASH announced new capabilities in its log management suite, which are designed to help organisations optimise logging costs at scale and meet the stringent data retention, auditability and data residency requirements of regulated industries. Logs are critical for threat detection, incident response and audit trails. However, lack of flexibility, high costs and data retention limitations remain roadblocks for security and compliance teams. Financial services, healthcare and insurance companies face similar challenges, having to comply with regulations and maintain full control over sensitive operational data, including their logs. Likewise, organisations operating under regional data residency laws or internal security policies are often required to store data within controlled environments, whether on-premises or in-region cloud infrastructure. These organisations need to remain compliant while having a scalable and efficient log management strategy. Traditional solutions, however, often introduce high costs, operational overhead and fragmented workflows. At its DASH conference in 2023, Datadog launched Flex Logs, which has since become one of its fastest-growing products. Flex Logs decouples the costs of log storage from the costs of querying. It provides both short- and long-term log retention for a nominal monthly fee without sacrificing visibility, enabling streamlined correlation between all of an organisation's logs, metrics and traces. To help companies meet data residency regulations, policies and preferences—while further optimising cost and efficiency—Datadog has launched new log management capabilities that build on the foundation set by Flex Logs. Datadog's latest enhancements enable organisations to support modern SIEM and security workflows while maintaining full visibility, cost consciousness and operational efficiency: Archive Search queries logs from customer-owned cold storage without requiring re-indexing. Archived logs can be searched the same way as logs under retention in the Log Explorer without introducing new tools or extra training. Datadog keeps the user experience consistent, regardless of the age of logs. Flex Frozen is a new storage tier extending log retention to over seven years, eliminating the need for managing and securing external archives. Built for audit-heavy, compliance-driven environments, Flex Frozen simplifies data retention by keeping logs inside Datadog in order to reduce overhead, simplify reporting and analytics, and improve accessibility. CloudPrem enables enterprises to deploy Datadog's indexing and search capabilities within their own infrastructure. Whether it's due to regional data residency laws or internal compliance mandates, customers can now keep their logs local—while continuing to use the Datadog UI and workflows they trust. 'As compliance standards grow more complex and global data regulations tighten, organisations face mounting pressure to retain log data longer, search it faster and keep it where it belongs,' said Michael Whetten, VP of Product at Datadog. 'With today's launches, Datadog makes it easier to manage logs, control their costs and stay compliant without sacrificing performance, accessibility or the user experience.'
