Why has Barron Trump become the center of mockery amid Trump's Iran escalation?
Barron Trump has unexpectedly become the target of online mockery following President Donald Trump's announcement that the United States launched a series of airstrikes on Iran. The military action, which targeted three key sites early Sunday, marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel—one that the US has now openly joined, as reported by the Irish Star. As political tensions rise and critics question the legality of the strikes, attention on social media has oddly turned toward the President's youngest son.

The strikes sparked a wave of fear online, with many warning that the conflict could escalate into World War 3. Alongside genuine concern, a flood of dark humor and speculation emerged across social media, as users joked about the possibility of being drafted into military service. This led to unfavorable comparisons between Barron and his father, Trump, who famously avoided stepping into the Vietnam War after being diagnosed with bone spurs.
In 1968, amid the height of the Vietnam War, Trump, then 22 years old, was diagnosed with bone spurs in his heels, a condition that ultimately exempted him from military service. This diagnosis came after he had already received four deferments for educational reasons.
Now, with the war-like situations rising again, many jokes on social media are that Barron would avoid joining the army just like his father did.

Will it be "bone spurs 2.0" like Dad's? A new, creative mental health claim? The world waits with bated breath... Let's be honest, a Trump in uniform? Unlikely".
Another user wrote, 'Apparently Barron Trump has been spotted visiting a doctor to get his hereditary bone spurs checked out.'

‘Trump pushed US into another war': Putin aide calls strikes on Iran nuclear sites a failure
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has launched a scathing attack on the United States over its airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, alleging that the strikes failed to inflict any meaningful damage on Iran's nuclear infrastructure. Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev criticised U.S. strikes on Iran, claiming they caused little damage to its nuclear infrastructure.(AP File) He claimed the attacks have instead strengthened the Iranian regime and drawn Washington deeper into a broader Middle East conflict. Follow live updates on the Iran-Israel conflict here In a series of posts on X, Medvedev listed the consequences of the US strikes on Iran's nuclear sites. He said some countries might now be willing to give Iran nuclear weapons. 'Critical infrastructure of the nuclear fuel cycle appears to have been unaffected or sustained only minor damage. The enrichment of nuclear material — and, now we can say it outright, the future production of nuclear weapons — will continue. A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads,' wrote Dmitry Medvedev. 'Israel is under attack, explosions are rocking the country, and people are panicking. The US is now entangled in a new conflict, with prospects of a ground operation looming on the horizon,' he added. Read: Bombers flew undetected for 18 hours: How US launched airstrikes on Iran's nuclear sites He criticised Donald Trump for dragging the US into another war, said global opinion is largely against the US and Israel, and mocked Trump's chances of ever winning a Nobel Peace Prize. 'Even stronger now': Medvedev says US strikes failed to weaken Iran regime 'Iran's political regime has survived — and in all likelihood, has come out even stronger. The people are rallying around the country's spiritual leadership, including those who were previously indifferent or opposed to it. Donald Trump, once hailed as 'president of peace,' has now pushed the US into another war,' said Medvedev. Read more: How US military's decoy B-2 Bomber mission helped it achieve stealth before Iran strikes 'The vast majority of countries around the world oppose the actions of Israel and the United States. At this rate, Trump can forget about the Nobel Peace Prize — not even with how rigged it has become. What a way to kick things off, Mr. President. Congratulations!' Dmitry Medvedev mentioned.

Several senior leaders of Imran Khan's party get relief from Pak courts
Several senior leaders of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan's party have been granted relief by courts in protest-related cases, a media report said on Sunday (June 22, 2025). Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including its chairman Gohar Ali Khan and Leader of the Opposition Omar Ayub, were on Saturday acquitted by a court in Islamabad in two protest-related cases from last year, the Dawn newspaper reported. Islamabad Judicial Magistrate Shahzad Ahmed announced the verdict in the cases related to a protest on April 26 last year. The protest moved from the office of PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen towards the Karachi Company, reportedly in violation of Section 144 and other legal provisions. After hearing all arguments, the court acquitted Barrister Gohar, Omar Ayub, Ali Bukhari, Shoaib Shaheen, Malik Rafique, Amir Dogar, Amir Mughal and others. Meanwhile, an anti-terrorism court in Lahore granted bail to former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a May 9, 2023, riots case. ATC-I Judge Manzer Ali Gill announced the verdict in the case related to the Shadman Police Station attack case during the May 9 riots that erupted after the arrest of PTI founder Khan. The judge deferred till June 26 a decision on another bail petition of the PTI leader in a case relating to the burning of police vehicles near Lahore Corps. Mr. Qureshi's counsel had argued that the PTI leader was not even present in Lahore on May 9 — the day of the alleged attack — and was in Karachi with his wife for her medical treatment. The counsel stated that the allegation of conspiracy against Mr. Qureshi regarding the May 9 attacks was not proven and the petitioner should be granted bail, as many co-suspects in the same case had already been allowed bail. Earlier, former Punjab governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema also filed a bail petition in the same Shadman Police Station attack case. Mr. Khan is booked in several cases in Lahore in connection with the May 9, 2023, violence, including for allegedly inciting his supporters to attack government and military buildings, which erupted after his arrest by paramilitary Rangers from the Islamabad High Court premises. The 72-year-old cricketer-turned-politician has been behind bars since August 2023 after he was booked in multiple cases.
