Part of a busy road in Salford will close for six months as part of a major regeneration project.Frederick Road is set to shut between Lissadel Street and Leslie Hough Way from 12 July.The closure is due to the construction of Salford Rise - a 721ft (220m) elevated walkway which will provide a traffic-free route across the city.A diversion will be in place with drivers directed down Lissadel Street, Cromwell Road, Gerald Road and Seaford Road, while pedestrians can walk up Broughton Road East.
Parking restrictions will also be in place on Lissadel Street and Broughton Road East.Salford Rise is a project to get more people walking and cycling around the city by creating a new link over Frederick Road to the University of Salford's campus.Work started on the scheme in September 2024 and is set to finish next summer.It is part of the £2.5bn Crescent Salford project, a 240-acre masterplan to transform part of Salford city centre with more than 3,000 new homes and buildings for research and businesses.

So if you were to go every day for the three-month period, it means you would be paying less than £1 a day. There are some exclusion dates which apply to all of the theme parks in the offer. They include August 24 and 25 and October 18, 25, 26 and 31. "With unlimited access to a whole host of exhilarating attractions, a Merlin Annual Pass offers unforgettable memories right on your doorstep. With the Thorpe Park Thrill Pass, for example, visitors can enjoy three months of access to the attraction - which is home to over 25 rides, including its 'Big 6' coasters. One of these rollercoasters boasts the title of the UK's tallest, fastest and most weightless rollercoaster - Hyperia. There are also water rides to enjoy on the hotter days. At Alton Towers Resort - the UK's largest theme park - there are over 40 rides and attractions for all ages. Kids can enter Diggerland for free with this trick There are 10 main rollercoasters, each of which have record-breaking elements too. For younger children, there are 20 attractions including the only place in the UK where visitors can meet some of CBeebies best-loved characters. In addition, Legoland is even getting a grand new look. Earlier in June, new images revealed that the entrance gates to the park will undergo an upgrade. The plans show that two new structures will be built on either side of the Legoland sign - which look like giant Lego bricks. They will also include Lego characters such as knights and ninjas. The research looked at the most affordable amusement parks for a child's ticket on a peak summer weekend day. According to the research, Playland Fun Park in Worcestershire is officially the UK's cheapest theme park. The park, in Stourport-on-Severn, has completely free entry with rides starting from just £1. Kids can enjoy the park's bumper boats or ride a go-kart. One reviewer writes on Google Reviews that the park is a 'good place to visit for all the family' while another visitor describes it as an 'absolutely lovely park'. Next cheapest is The Web Adventure Park in York where a child's weekend ticket costs £17.95 with rides included. The quirky park has an outdoor area with an animal zone with ponies, alpacas and more and an indoor play area with ball pits and a ninja course. A reviewer who gave the park five stars on Google Reviews describes it as 'such a lovely place' while another says it's a 'nice and tidy place with everything kids love to do all in one place'. The UK's third-cheapest theme park is the Camel Creek Family Adventure Park where a child's ticket costs from £20 with access to rides. Located in Cornwall, the theme park has a water ride, a chair swing, adventure golf and even a family of meerkats. A visitor writes on Google Reviews: 'We had an absolutely brilliant day out at Camel Creek! 'From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and the park was clean and well-maintained.' Fantasy Island in Skegness lands just outside the top three, as the fourth-cheapest theme park in the UK with an adventurer pass costing £20.50 at the weekend. The adventurer pass can be purchased for anyone 0.9m or above which allows children to access many of the park's rides including the log flume, river rapids and chair-o-planes. Fantasy Island is also home to Europe's largest seven-day market which sells everything from garden furniture to souvenirs. The next most affordable theme park in the UK is BeWilderWood in Cheshire where a weekend ticket costs £22.95 for people over 105cm.
