Shraddha Kapoor enjoyed the early Mumbai monsoons, interacted with paps, and suggested they eat fritters. Fans are gushing over her latest pap appearance.
Shraddha Kapoor, like several Bollywood celebs, is celebrating the early arrival of monsoons in Mumbai. The actor was papped in the city earlier today, when she had the sweetest interaction with paps. When they wished her a 'happy monsoon', Shraddha responded by asking them to indulge in 'bhajji" (fritters), a monsoon staple at Indian households.
Dressed in a simple black top with baggy denims, the 38-year-old actor greeted paps with her usual charm. After she hopped into the car, the actor asked them to make the most of early monsoon and eat fritters. Take a look at her video here:
Fans took to the comment box to gush over Shraddha. 'Cute as ever", wrote a user. 'Shraddha Kapoor is pookie," wrote another. 'Maam aaj subah hi khayee", updated a third user.
Meanwhile, monsoon has arrived in several rainfall-prone states in the country such as Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and others. Heavy rain struck Mumbai on Monday with the onset of the monsoon, disrupting daily life. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai for today, May 26, due to the heavy downpour. The rain also impacted flight and train operations in the city.
The weather department has forecasted thunderstorms with lightning and intense rain spells, accompanied by gusty winds reaching 50-60 km/h at isolated locations in Mumbai for Monday.
On the work front, recent reports stated that Shraddha Kapoor has reportedly walked out of a thriller helmed by Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve and produced by Ekta Kapoor. On May 19, Barve took to X (formerly Twitter), and stated a clarification. He wrote, 'Please don't believe any of the rumours currently floating all over the media. We'll be making an official announcement at the right time. Thank you."
Apart from this, Shraddha Kapoor also has Stree 3 in the pipeline. There's buzz that Shraddha might be collaborating with producers Dinesh Vijan, Bhushan Kumar, and Boney Kapoor on another project. However, nothing's locked in yet. She is also gearing up for Naagin Trilogy, a mega-budget venture directed by Vishal Furia.

Monsoon at Delhi's doorstep, onset likely in two days says IMD

The southwest monsoon is set to advance into Delhi and neighbourhood areas during the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday. If realised, the monsoon will arrive earlier than the normal date of June 29. Last year, the onset over the national capital was marked on June 28. This year, Delhi will not experience heatwave condition in June and overall, the month has recorded only seven days when the maximum temperatures crossed 40 degree Celsius mark. The hottest day (43.9 degree Celsisu) of this month was recorded on June 12. The IMD said, ' Conditions are favourbale for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into more parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, some parts of Haryana, Chandugarh, Delhi and cover the rest of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jannu in the next two days.' Maintaining its steady and early advances since the onset this year over Kerala on May 24, the southwest monsoon Sunday progressed into most parts of Himachal Pradesh, covered all of Ladakh and Kashmir, most parts of Jammu and entered Punjab. With the latest advancement, the northern limit of monsoon passed through Jaipur, Agra, Rampur, Dehradun, Shimla, Pathankot and Jammu. This year, the monsoon progress has been swift since the onset, except a brief lull during May 29 – June 15. It had arrived over the Andaman Sea on May 13 — early by a week. A low pressure lies over central Uttar Pradesh and this system is expected to move northwestwards and further weaken by Monday. In this view, the IMD has warned of an enhanced rainfall over central and eastern India regions till Friday. Extremely heavy rainfall ( over 200mm in 24 hours) over eastern Madhya Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan during Monday and Tuesday. Heavy rainfall is forecast over Bihar and Jharkhand till June 25, over Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim during June 24 – 27. Very heavy rainfall ( 115 to 204mm in 24 hours) is expected over Sikkim, West Bengal and Bihar on Monday, over Odisha on June 25 and 26 and over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat till June 28. Over northeast India, heavy rainfall (64 -115mm in 24 hours) will continue till Tuesday with spells expected over Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, where exceptionally high spells were recorded last week. Kerala and Mahe in southern India will receive heavy rainfall all of this week and sea conditions will remain rough with strong surface winds along the coasts of Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, the IMD said.

‘What wrong is Deepika demanding?': Kajol and Rani did 8-hour shifts too, says director Siddharth P. Malhotra as Bollywood debate heats up

Agencies Deepika Padukone's reported exit from Spirit over her request for an eight-hour workday has reignited debate on humane work hours in Indian cinema. Director Siddharth P Malhotra defended her stance, citing past examples like Rani Mukerji and Kajol who also worked limited shifts post-motherhood. Last month, reports broke that Deepika Padukone had stepped away from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's much-anticipated Telugu cop drama Spirit . The reason? Her request for an eight-hour workday. The demand, made just eight months after the birth of her daughter Dua Padukone, sparked debate across the industry and social media, with many questioning whether actors should dictate such terms in big-budget productions. Now, director Siddharth P Malhotra has come out in her support, pointing out that such working conditions are not only reasonable but have long existed in the industry. Speaking to IANS, Malhotra recalled wrapping his 2018 film Hichki —starring Rani Mukerji—in just 28 eight-hour shifts. The film, produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, marked Rani's return to the screen after giving birth to her daughter Adira in 2015. 'For 14 months, I have been there in front of her face. So I kept asking myself, 'Is it going to be worth it?'' Rani had shared in a past interview, reflecting on her emotional struggle as a new mother rejoining work. But Malhotra confirmed the working hours were kept tight and clear. 'She's asking for family time, what wrong is she demanding?' he asked bluntly. 'People are just gaining publicity in the name of Deepika Padukone.' Malhotra also pointed to his debut film We Are Family (2010), in which lead actor Kajol, a mother herself at the time, insisted on fixed working hours. 'When I shot with Kajol in 2010, she used to do eight-hour shifts. She made it very clear she'd either come from 10 am to 6 pm or 7 am to 2 pm,' he said, underscoring that the practice predates the current noise around Deepika's decision. Kajol recently echoed this sentiment to PTI, stating, 'I didn't work for 20 or 30 hours. I was always very clear that we would work a certain amount only, and my mom (veteran actor Tanuja) also backed me up big time on it.' Malhotra believes that directors should match their production plans with the availability of their actors—especially when such conditions are set transparently from the outset. 'If Deepika Padukone has made these conditions clear right from the start, then the director shouldn't work with her if it doesn't suit them,' he said. 'If I need an actor and am confident I can finish the film within those working hours, I'd work with them even for six hours a day.' He added that if Vanga's vision for Spirit required longer working hours, he was within his rights to recast. And that's exactly what has happened: Vanga has now brought Animal star Triptii Dimri on board as the lead opposite Prabhas in the film. While the industry is known for grueling shifts and punishing timelines, the conversation sparked by Padukone's stance opens a new chapter—one that addresses work-life balance, especially for women returning to work post-motherhood.
