MLB star turned real estate developer Alex Guerrero asks $75M for a Miami spec mansion — with an 18-car garage

A former Los Angeles Dodger is selling a $75 million home base in Miami.
Alex Guerrero went from Dodger to developer.
The Cuban-born power hitter previously made a name for himself playing for the Dodgers and Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball League before retiring several years ago. Now he's building luxury properties in Miami.

Guerrero's most recent project along Miami's Millionaire's Row is hitting the market for that massive sum, the Wall Street Journal reported. Lourdes Alatriste of Douglas Elliman is representing the listing.
When finished, the spec house on North Bay Road will span 10,250 square feet. The ultra-modern home enjoys 110 feet of waterfront, with dockage enough for a 90-foot yacht.
The residence's half-acre spot along North Bay Road puts it in league with neighboring homes owned by the Beckhams, Cindy Crawford and Karlie Kloss.
David and Victoria Beckham purchased a $72.24 million nine-bedroom home along North Bay in October 2024, notching the road's most expensive residential sale ever.

Guerrero's development, constructed by Valle Valle & Partners, is designed to attract the same kind of buyers.
The property boasts three kitchens, including an outdoor kitchen and a catering kitchen designed for large parties. Among its seven planned bedrooms is a 1,500-square-foot primary suite with a private garden, a cold plunge and a balcony overlooking Biscayne Bay.
The trophy estate will also feature an infinity-edge pool and a hot tub.
The real MVP of Guerrero's project, however, is the 18-car garage, accessed through a sensor-activated waterfall. The space includes a three-car air-conditioned garage and a 15-car undercarriage garage.

The home is projected to be completed in 2026, but Alatriste told the Journal that Guerrero is selling now in order to allow the home's buyer to customize their multimillion dollar investment.
The former baseball pro played for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2013 to 2016. Guerrero then joined Japan's professional baseball league before retiring and moving on to real estate.
Guerrero has success in 2023 when he sold a Palm Island home in 2023 for $17 million, the Journal reported. Guerrero bought the site of his North Bay Road development that same year for $13.6 million, and now hopes to more than quintuple that investment.

Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson apologizes for red card in Club World Cup loss to Flamengo

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Nicolas Jackson apologized to Chelsea fans after he was sent off with a red card during the team's 3-1 loss to Flamengo in the Club World Cup on Friday. Trailing the Brazilians 2-1, the striker was sent off in the 68th minute with a straight red just four minutes after replacing Liam Delap for a studs-up tackle on Flamengo defender Ayrton Lucas. 'I want to say sorry. To the club, the staff, my teammates, and all the fans watching, I let you down. Another red card ... and honestly, I'm so angry at myself,' he wrote on Instagram. 'I work hard every day to help the team not to put us in this situation.' The red means that the Senegalese international won't be available to play on Tuesday when Chelsea faces Esperance with a spot in the round of 16 on the line. Jackson was also shown a red card last month in Chelsea's 2-0 loss to Newcastle. 'It happened against Newcastle and it happened today. Probably today I am not 100 percent sure it's a red card compared to the Newcastle one,' Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca said. 'So it's a little bit of a bad moment for Nico in this kind of things.' FIFA could give Jackson a longer suspension if it chooses to review the tackle. 'I'll reflect, I'll grow and I'll come back stronger for the badge and for everyone who believes in me,' Jackson concluded his post. 'Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.' ___ AP soccer:

Youcef Belaili scores in Esperance's 1-0 victory over LAFC in the Club World Cup

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Yousef Belaili scored in the 70th minute and Esperance de Tunisie beat LAFC 1-0 on Friday night in the Club World Cup to remain in contention to advance and eliminate the California MLS team. LAFC had one final chance to tie it in the 99th minute on Dénis Bouanaga's right-footed shot off a penalty kick just in front, but goalkeeper Béchir Ben Säid smothered it. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were in the crowd of 13,651 at 30,000-seat GEODIS Park on a steamy late afternoon. Key moment After a back-and-forth pace, Belaili came through with a right-footed shot from the left side of the box to the bottom left corner through goalkeeper Hugo Lloris' legs. Takeaways Esperance will finish the round Tuesday night against Chelsea, with second place in Group D and a spot in the round of 16 on the line. Not only was LAFC eliminated, it has been shot out in both of its matches. LAFC had two goals wiped out by offsides in the first half. ___ AP soccer:

ULM drops women's tennis amid athletic department financial constraints

MONROE, La. (AP) — The women's tennis program at Louisiana-Monroe has been disbanded because of financial constraints at the university's athletic department. Athletic director John Hartwell announced this week that the decision stemmed from 'increased operational and infrastructure costs' and will help ULM athletics 'to continue progress towards balancing its budget' while maintaining an NCAA-required minimum of 16 Division I sports. Under the recently approved NCAA antitrust settlement, scholarship caps will be replaced by roster limits and schools will be able to fund every roster spot with a scholarship. Hartwell said as women's tennis players graduate or transfer, scholarship funds that had been dedicated to them will be redirected to other remaining women's sports teams. ULM spokesman Martin Radosevic the administration also 'worked with a Title IX consultant to ensure we maintained Title IX compliance during this process.' Title IX prohibits discrimination based on gender. For practical purposes, it requires universities to fund athletic scholarships in a way that is proportionate to the number of men and women participating on their varsity sports teams. While the number of women's athletic scholarships funded by ULM won't change, its athletic department will save on other expenses that had gone toward the tennis program — from coaches' salaries to travel, equipment and facility costs. Radosevic said the athletic department expects savings of about $250,000. 'Discontinuing a sport is never an easy decision, nor one that we take lightly,' Hartwell said. 'We know this is tough for our student-athletes and our coaches, who have poured so much into our tennis program." Hartwell said ULM will honor the scholarships of those who want to complete their degrees without transferring elsewhere. He said his administration also will help those tennis players who want to continue to compete to pursue opportunities at other schools. 'We will prioritize as smooth a transition as possible for our student-athletes,' Hartwell said. ___
