
MG Windsor nears 30,000 sales in India within eight months

has announced that the MG
Windsor electric vehicle
has crossed the 27,000-unit sales mark, less than a year after its launch. The company said the model has shown steady demand across the country and continues to lead the electric vehicle segment.
According to the company, the recently launched Windsor EV PRO, equipped with a larger battery and additional safety and technology features, received 8,000 bookings within the first 24 hours of launch in May 2025.
Wider reach beyond metros
JSW MG Motor India noted that nearly 48 per cent of total Windsor sales have come from non-metro markets, indicating broader adoption of electric vehicles beyond urban centres.
The company also stated that the MG Windsor has received over 30 awards since launch, including the
Green Car Award 2025
by iCOTY.
Marketed as India's first intelligent CUV, the Windsor is offered with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) pricing model, starting at ₹9.99 lakh with a usage charge of ₹3.9 per kilometre. The vehicle delivers 100 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque.
The Windsor comes with a 15.6-inch central display and seats that recline up to 135 degrees. MG said these features aim to provide an enhanced in-cabin experience for users.

Skoda Auto India has registered the highest sales growth in the month of May 2025. The sales data showcase that the Czech automaker recorded sales of 6,740 units in May'25, surpassing the 2,884 unit sales recorded in May 2024. JSW MG recorded sales of 6,304 units in May 2025, surpassing the sales of 4,769 units in May 2024. The biggest contributor to MG's sales growth is the brand's fully-electric CUV, the Windsor EV. Even after witnessing significant YoY sales growth, Skoda and MG have secured the 7th and 8th positions in the May'25 car sales list. Maruti Suzuki has secured the first place despite a 5.6 percent YoY decline in May'25. Maruti Suzuki India recorded sales of 1,35,962 units in May 2025, which earlier stood at 1,44,002 units in May 2024. However, the other car makers that managed to register positive YoY growth in May are- Toyota (22.2 percent), Mahindra (21.3 percent), and Kia (14.4 percent). While Hyundai, Tata Motors, Honda, and Volkswagen suffered significant YoY sales declines in the month.
