‘I don't need to somehow remain relevant' – Andy Murray reveals he is set to snub ‘easy' Wimbledon TV punditry gig
ANDY MURRAY is loath to step into TV punditry work just yet – as he does not want to annoy Jack Draper with his words.
Muzza, 38, hated it when he was playing and former British tennis stars, who had nowhere near his same level of ability or talent, gave him advice.

Now retired and at a loose end following the dissolution of his coaching gig with 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, the Scotsman could earn decent money working for the BBC.
But the two-time Wimbledon singles champion is conscious of appearing in front of millions and saying something that current British No 1 Draper, 23, disagrees with.
Asked by GQ magazine if he feels the need to stay in the public eye, Murray replied: 'I'm not thinking daily that I need to tweet something or somehow remain relevant.
'That's why I'm much more interested in the idea of coaching because I feel like I'd actually really be helping someone.
'Whereas with punditry, it can be harmful. If I go and work at, let's say Wimbledon, you start getting asked questions about British players like Jack Draper.
'I know when the British ex–tennis players would talk about my tennis and what I should be doing.
'Because you respect them, you listen to what they're saying – but it's not always the same as what your coach is telling you.
'What the pundits are saying could be wrong. They're not right all the time, and when you're young, it's quite conflicting.
'So I'd be more inclined to do coaching, because I think punditry is quite an easy gig.
'You can just throw stuff out there.
"People love it if it's a bit controversial, but you don't actually have any skin in the game.'
BBC's Wimbledon TV comms team will be revealed on Monday.

THE latest performance of West End musical Evita is facing a growing controversy. On Thursday evening two ambulances raced to The London Palladium after multiple members of the public fell ill - with one being whisked to hospital. Large crowds of up to 200 people gathered outside the venue for hours to see actress Rachel Zegler, 24, perform Don't Cry For Me Argentina from the balcony. But as the country baked in blistering heat members of the public struggled to cope resulting in emergency services being called just minutes before Rachel was due to belt out the hit. A source said: 'As word spreads more and more people are flocking to the Palladium to see Rachel's performance and it's turning into a bit of a nightmare. 'Crowd control is bad enough on the public street but with the heat it's becoming really dangerous. 'Ambulances were parked outside the venue for almost an hour before racing to the hospital just minutes before Rachel appeared.' A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We were called at 8.16pm yesterday to reports of a person unwell in Argyll Street, central London. 'We sent two ambulance crews to the scene. 'While treating the patient, our crews were called to help a second person who was unwell nearby. British and Irish Lions winners and losers after Andy Farrell's side fall to 28-24 defeat by Argentina - including one forward who had an outstanding display
After months of anticipation, the 2025 British & Irish Lions tour got off to a false start as Andy Farrell's side were beaten 28-24 by Argentina in Dublin. MailSport's Alex Bywater was at the Aviva Stadium to look at the players who stood out for head coach Farrell and who struggled to get going… Ellis Genge (prop) Genge really put down a marker. He anchored a Lions scrum that had dominance over the Argentinians – no mean feat given the Pumas pride themselves on their work in that area – and was also a marauding threat in the loose. Genge had a great carry in the build-up to Tadhg Beirne's second-half try. He looks like a man set for a big tour. Fin Smith (fly-half) Emulated his grandfather Tom Elliot by becoming a Lion and manipulated the Argentina defence well, creating one-on-one opportunities for his dangerous outside backs. A first look at the 2025 Lions suggested they will play with an Ireland-style pod system in attack. Smith had plenty of forward options to use on short lines, but also out wide. It was noticeable how the Lions backs were always attached to each pod. While Farrell's men were understandably far from perfect, Smith can be pleased with his outing. Tommy Freeman (wing) Scored in every round of the Six Nations for England and was a lively operator here, always looking for work. Farrell wants his wingers heavily involved all over the field and that suits Freeman down to the ground. Quick and powerful in the carry. Will be a key man Down Under. Sione Tuipulotu (centre) Hasn't played much this season and unfortunately, there was a degree of rust to his performance. Dropped one ball from Freeman. It would be harsh to blame a team's defensive struggles on one player alone, but the Lions were breached too often in his 13 channel. Probably better off at inside centre. Will definitely improve on this the more he plays. Luke Cowan-Dickie (hooker) Not a great birthday for the Sale hooker. Had an early try ruled out and struggled at line-out time. Too many of the Lions' throws went awry, with a couple overthrown. Cowan-Dickie did play a part in the strong Lions scrum but he was replaced early in the second half. Line-out didn't improve with Ronan Kelleher on in his place.
