Plumber goes viral after sharing YouTube DIY tips
A plumber, who has become a social-media sensation after creating videos explaining how to carry out DIY jobs, wants to inspire the next generation of plumbers.Matt Marciniak, from Kings Stanley in Gloucestershire, has more than one million followers on Youtube and Instagram, with about one billion views on his videos. He said he loves showing people the work he does and has recently visited his former college, SGS College, to motivate students to take up the skill."I try to create videos where people can learn how to do something useful," he said.
Mr Marciniak, who has been working as a plumber for 17 years, only started making social media videos in 2024.They range from "how to quickly fix a leaking tap" to "easy steps to repairing a toilet".
"I first started taking pictures of my work because I thought it was good," Mr Marciniak said."I saw a video on Facebook saying 'how to solder a copper pipe', and it must have had four million views. I thought I could definitely do that."He has since made more than 800 videos, which have been watched by more than one billion people."Because I do things in a way where you don't hear me talking, it's the noise of the tools, the audience can be worldwide," Mr Marciniak said."I think when you create content, you need to provide some sort of purpose that someone can actually get something from," he added. He said over time, he figured out which videos would do well on social platforms."When you've done it for a long period of time, as you're editing the video, you see the clips and think they're really going to like that bit," Mr Marciniak said.

Inside Ellen DeGeneres' rustic Cotswolds home after fleeing the US
Since Ellen has fled the US, she has lived in two country homes - but the first one was far from the couple's dream home and finally the couples have found happiness in their new home... and sheep Ellen DeGeneres, 67, quietly moved to the UK after Donald Trump's re-election in 2024, ditching her $96million (£71million) California estate for the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. While Ellen and Portia originally snapped up a sprawling 43-acre farmhouse, things didn't go to plan. The luxury mansion bought as a dream escape was reportedly hit with epic flooding, and locals say nearby roads were left five feet under water. The couple are also said to have struggled with tight country roads, even needing to detour a mile and a half just to get around traffic bollards. Now, they've moved to a second property perched on higher ground in Oxfordshire and the new spot already seems like a better match - no flooding, fewer detours and as fans have seen this week, plenty of space for sheep to roam.. or sneak inside This week, we got a peek inside as Ellen shared a sweet snap of Portia photographing a rainbow from their hilltop garden. Captioning the photo, she gushed: 'My wife, a rainbow, and my wife taking a photograph of a rainbow.' She's also been showing off their growing animal family including their new sheep, who've made themselves very at home. In a recent Instagram video, four sheep were seen wandering through the couple's open-plan home, startling their tiny dog. 'They're inside?' Portia can be heard asking, to which Ellen calmly replies, 'Yeah, they're inside.' Another clip, filmed by Portia, shows one of the sheep named Bernie strolling indoors. 'Oh no, Bernie, you can't be in here,' she laughs, gently guiding her back out. Just days earlier, Ellen posted footage of the sheep barging into the chicken coop. 'That's not your food! Get out of there,' she scolded, chasing them off camera. But while the couple are embracing rural life - chickens and all. However not everything's gone unnoticed. Ellen was recently roasted by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane at a star-studded charity gala, where he joked: 'She left right after the election… now she's the nicest person in France.' But not quite accurate, she's actually set up home in the English countryside. Ellen previously hit back at claims she's 'mean,' telling fans during a stand-up show: 'I can be demanding and tough… but I'm not mean.' Despite the storms, the pair seem to be settling into village life with their new £15 million hilltop home offering sweeping views, a sustainable drainage system, and hopefully fewer surprises.

Bubala restaurant review: ‘The carrots nearly made me take a Covid test'
My wedding reception was held upstairs at the Ivy. Back then, there was only one Ivy: our favourite spot in London, where — in the pre-soft-play days, when our disposable income wasn't funnelled directly into Bluey Inc — we'd had our favourite, joyous, boozy dinners. It was the only possible venue. But now, with an Ivy on every high street, it's like announcing we got married at a Zizzi. And here, with slight regret, I present another cautionary tale of overexpansion. I love Bubala. It opened in Spitalfields in 2019, offering a vibrant take on Middle Eastern food that was delicious, quietly vegetarian and deeply hip — not that I'm in any position to judge hipness, but various beard-oil users have assured me that it was. Its firstborn arrived in Soho a few years later, and this sequel proved even better. It was The Godfather Part II, Thor: Ragnarok, Miley Cyrus. Bubala 3 is a 15-minute trek from King's Cross station, located in the sprawling techtropolis, presumably to vary the lunch options for Google and Facebook employees. The walk gave me plenty of time to hype up the food to my husband, J. By the end of my pitch, he was practically jogging there. We were welcomed in by a brilliant Kiwi manager, but it's not quite the restaurant I know — it's cool and airy rather than cosy, all concrete, exposed plaster and towering arched windows. It would be hard to say the place had much personality, as if it's ready to be turned into a Wagamama or Côte at a moment's notice. Inside Bubala REBECCA HOPE You have the option of a £33 per person mezze sharing menu or choosing, as we did, from the twenty or so à la carte dishes. We picked about half of them. The falafels were 10/10. Just the right amount of give on the outside and fluff on the inside, all served on a tahini so white, smooth and creamy it should have an SPF number. Bread and hummus were also spot-on. The laffa, a scorched flatbread threatening to become a naan, tore with a sublime stretchiness and was the perfect mode of transport to shovel in the glossy hummus, pimped up with nutty burnt butter. 'See?' I said to J. But, alas, man cannot live on chickpeas alone. Charred halloumi was squidgy and succulent, the antithesis of the squeaky vulcanised rubber found at every barbecue. In Soho, it comes topped with a phenomenal chamomile honey. Here it's been punished with half a jar of marmalade. Sickly and dissonant, it tasted as though a label had been misread — even Paddington would have scraped off the stuff. The spanakopita looked fantastic — a chimera of the Greek staple with Turkish borek pastry — but was polystyrene dry; the fist of sesame-miso chutney on the side delicious but ultimately unable to perform CPR on its neighbour. Leeks came doused in a Mexican-themed gratinated béchamel of jalapeños and sheep's cheese, with a tangy amba (mango pickle, to save you a google) reminding us we've got one foot in the Middle East. But the leeks were unforgivably tough. The thoughtfully provided utility knife wasn't up to the job — I think I'd have needed a power tool. I will forgive them for calling hash brown cubes 'latkes', but I can't forgive them for the potato being grey. The carrot main was so underflavoured it could have been a side for a Sunday roast — I almost took a Covid test. The button mushrooms on the pickle plate were overly soft, slightly redolent of a Travelodge breakfast. The basbousa dessert, a warm semolina cake with pineapple and coconut, had intricate flavours but was stone cold in the middle. Unforced error after unforced error that made me keep apologising to J. Carrots, feta and apricot Maybe these were all teething problems — the restaurant has only been open a month. ('Ask your server about our daily wine specials!' screamed a box on the menu. I asked a server, who asked another server, who told us there were no wine specials.) Maybe we caught them on an off day. Or maybe this is a moment for Bubala to take a beat, hopefully before branches start to take hold across the country like knotweed. Or Ivy. ★★★☆☆ 1 Cadence Court, Lewis Cubitt Park, London N1; Charlotte Ivers is away

The pictures of Billi at Georgia and Tommy's second wedding, which was held in Mallorca, come after her ex Andy Carroll was quizzed by police. The Sun on Sunday has exclusively revealed how the ex-Premier League footballer was questioned over bust-ups with his girlfriend Lou Teasdale on the Greek party island Mykonos. Carroll and make-up artist to the stars Lou are said to have rowed at a packed beachside restaurant and then at their hotel. One worker at the Nikolus Tavern said of the first argument: 'We recognised him as the footballer Andy Carroll immediately. 'He seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. 'He was using very bad words. It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset.' Police arrived after the first incident and took the former Newcastle, Liverpool and West Ham ace to one side for a chat. He was later allowed to return to Lou. But just hours later, police were called again by alarmed staff after reports of damage to the couple's room at a £500-a-night boutique hotel. Andy Carroll quizzed by cops twice after bust-ups with girlfriend at packed restaurant and hotel during Greek holiday Officers are said to have escorted Carroll to a local station for questioning. He was not arrested and it is understood no further action was taken. A joint statement from Carroll and Lou said: 'Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there. 'We went outside the restaurant with them together as they insisted they wanted to 'look after' us. 'As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested and no one was charged with anything. We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter.' The Mykonos hotel and police on the island declined to comment when contacted. Meanwhile, Billi touched down in Mallorca last week ahead of Georgia and Tommy's wedding. The mum-of-three, who also looks after Carroll's two eldest children from a previous relationship, looked incredible as she showed her ex what he is missing in a bikini. She has since shared a selection of photos from Georgia and Tommy's big day. They previously said 'I do' in 2023. Billi gushed: "Congratulations @georgiakousoulou & @iamtommyfordham. "The best day & night celebrating you both ❤️." Billi announced her split with Carroll in October last year. He confirmed his romance with Lou just weeks later. 7 Andy and Billi split in August last year after two rocky years of marriage Credit: Getty 7 The pair have three kids together and Andy has two children from a previous relationship Credit: Instagram
