Alabama lands two-way softball transfer from Big 12 program

Only days after adding Iowa transfer Jena Young, the Alabama Crimson Tide have landed yet another player through the portal in former Houston Cougars two-way player Brooke Wells. Wells announced her commitment to the Crimson Tide via a post on social media Saturday afternoon. At Houston, Wells saw time as both a pitched and infielder during the 2025 season as a freshman, a majority coming as the latter. Across 47 games, Wells slashed .341/.478/.645 for Houston with 10 home runs and 47 RBI offensively. As a pitcher, Wells made nine appearances for Houston in which she owned a 1-1 record with a 4.91 ERA and 9:13 K:BB ratio across 15.2 innings pitched. Wells also had one save, and held opponents to a combined .203 AVG against. The Houston transfer is Alabama's second portal addition so far this offseason, joined by the aforementioned Young.
