'Completely Unacceptable...Just Not Good Enough': Parth Jindal Lambasts Indian Football Team
Last Updated:
Indian football team lost 0-1 to Hong Kong in a crucial 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifier, jeopardizing their chances and likely dropping to 133 in FIFA rankings.
Indian football's struggles continued as the senior men's team, lacking determination, finishing, and the will to fight, suffered a disappointing 0-1 defeat to lower-ranked Hong Kong in a crucial 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifier match on Tuesday.
Hosts Hong Kong secured victory with an injury-time goal by Stefan Pereira in the 94th minute penalty, in what was a slap in the face to the atrocious Indian team.
This defeat jeopardised India's chances of qualifying for the next Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, and the team is likely to drop to 133 in the FIFA rankings, while Hong Kong will gain points and move up in the standings.
India's abhorrent showing in Hong Kong tonight angered many a fans alike, including Parth Jindal, who expressed his resentment and disappointment on X.
This is completely unacceptable @IndianFootball – just not good enough under any circumstances – deep introspection needed by the AIFF – this is not what all of us lovers and backers of Indian football have spent our hard earned money and effort to witness – get a manager and a…— Parth Jindal (@ParthJindal11) June 10, 2025
'This is completely unacceptable @IndianFootball – just not good enough under any circumstances – deep introspection needed by the AIFF – this is not what all of us lovers and backers of Indian football have spent our hard earned money and effort to witness – get a manager and a system that works – it's high time – there is too much effort to see a result like this," Jindal wrote in his post.
The team's struggles have been so significant that head coach Manolo Marquez had to persuade Sunil Chhetri to come out of retirement, a year after he had decided to step away from international football.
Despite Chhetri's return, the team remains stuck in its recent downward spiral.
Manolo's future with the national team is also uncertain. In addition to his role as the head coach of the national team, he continues to hold his position at ISL side FC Goa.
With a dismal record of one win in their last 12 matches, the Indian football team continues to show no sign of improvement, and unsurprisingly, one could bet their money on not expecting much anytime in the near future.

ENG vs IND live streaming: How to watch 1st Test Day 3 action for free?
Day 3 of the 1st Test between England and India will see the Indian bowling attack aim to bundle out the Three Lions as quickly as possibly and prevent them from eating out their lead as centurion Ollie Pope and Harry Brook look to build on for the hosts at Headingley. Jasprit Bumrah delivered a fiery spell on Day 2 of the 1st Test between India and England at Headingley, striking thrice to dismiss Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, and Joe Root, giving India a firm grip despite a resilient century from Ollie Pope. Bumrah nearly claimed a fourth wicket late in the day when Mohammed Siraj took a stunning catch to dismiss Harry Brook, but a costly overstep meant the batter got a reprieve. Earlier in the day, England's bowlers mounted a strong comeback. Despite India resuming from a dominant 359/3, the visitors were bowled out for 471, losing their last seven wickets for just 42 runs. Josh Tongue and Ben Stokes led the charge, with Tongue removing the dangerous Rishabh Pant, who had earlier shared a 200-plus stand with Shubman Gill. Gill, after reaching three figures, was dismissed by Shoaib Bashir. India's top order had laid a strong foundation on Day 1, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul setting the tone, allowing Gill and Pant to capitalize. England now face an uphill task to close the first-innings deficit. What is the venue for the ENG vs IND 1st Test match? The match will take place at Headingley Stadium in England. Indian football — How can India women qualify for AFC Asian Cup? Qualifiers' schedule, live streaming info
The Indian senior women's team will kick off their AFC Women's Asian Cup Australia 2026 Qualifiers campaign in the north Thai city of Chiang Mai on Une 23. It wouldn't be completely wrong to note that the continent's premier competition has been somewhat ill-fated for the Blue Tigresses in the last few decades. India last made it to the AFC Women's Asian Cup in 2003. And when they hosted the tournament in 2022, a COVID outbreak in the team meant that India had to withdraw after only the first game and the results were declared void. So, when head coach Crispin Chettri and his Blue Tigresses landed in Thailand on June 16, their only goal was to earn that ticket to Australia and become the first Indian squad to qualify for the AFC Women's Asian Cup via the qualifiers' route. While India has three podium finishes in the erstwhile Asian Women's Championship (runners-up in 1980 and 1983, and third place in 1981), this is the time to create new history in the 21st century. India (ranked 70th) will face Mongolia (ranked 126th), Timor Leste (ranked 158th), Iraq (ranked 173rd) and hosts Thailand (ranked 46th). Only the group winner will qualify for the final tournament in Australia in March 2026. The AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 will also serve as a qualifier for the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027. Apart from Thailand, India have never faced the other three Group B opponents before. India squad for the AFC Women's Asian Cup Australia 2026 Qualifiers Goalkeepers: Elangbam Panthoi Chanu, Moirangthem Monalisha Devi, Payal Basude. Virat who? Ex-cricketer forgets Virat Kohli's name after Shubman Gill's animated celebration
Image credit: AFP NEW DELHI: Shubman Gill burst into an animated celebration after Mohammed Siraj dismissed Joe Root during a crucial phase of the match. The Indian Test captain charged toward Siraj, pointing at him in a way that clearly signaled their well-executed plan had worked perfectly. But the joy was short-lived. Root immediately reviewed the decision, and the DRS showed a faint edge was missing — the on-field call was overturned, and the former England skipper survived. Watching Gill's exuberance, former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar couldn't help but draw comparisons. He said Gill's reaction reminded him of someone familiar — someone who used to bat at No. 4. Without naming him, the hint was obvious: Virat Kohli . Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! 'Who is this — Shubman Gill or someone else?' Manjrekar said on air. 'When he bats, he seems so calm, composed — a completely different personality. Captain Gill, we are seeing this version for the first time. His celebration… it reminded me of someone, but I'm struggling to place it. MS Dhoni never celebrated like that from mid-on, and it's definitely not Rohit Sharma 's style. Could be a No. 4 batter... My third guess would be Ajit Wadekar,' he added, sparking laughter in the commentary box, with Varun Aaron and Navjot Singh Sidhu joining in. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Gill's day wasn't just about fiery reactions.
