Al Sadd renew Miguel's contract until 2030

Qatar Stars League champions Al Sadd Club on Wednesday announced the renewal ofPedro Miguel's contract, extending his stay with the team until 2030.
Miguel, who joined Al Sadd in January 2016, has since won 12 titles with the club. The defender also claimed the AFC Asian Cup with the Qatari national team in both 2019 and 2023.
The contract renewal aims to bring greater stability to the team's squad.
Miguel expressed his happiness at continuing with Al Sadd, saying: 'I am very happy and proud of my new contract. Playing for this team is a big responsibility.'
'This is my tenth season with Al Sadd, so I know the club and its ambitions very well. I am extremely proud to wear this shirt.'
'We've experienced many great moments, which have motivated me to improve over the past seasons—thanks to the club and the efforts of my teammates. Extending my contract with Al Sadd came at the right time.'

Al Rayyan meet Al Sailiya in opener on August 14Tribune News Network Doha Defending champions Al Sadd will lock horns with Qatar SC in the opening week while Al Rayyan will play the opener against Al Sailiya when the Qatar Stars League season 2025-26 kicks-off on August 14, the QSL announced on Sunday. The camp was organized by FIBA and the NBA, with oversight from players and coaches affiliated with both organizations. This event, recognized as the leading platform for identifying emerging talent in Asia and Oceania, drew 60 male and female athletes under the age of 17 from 17 different countries, showcasing the finest young talents who were meticulously selected through ongoing evaluation throughout the year. Abdullah Yassin distinguished himself not only as Qatar's representative but also as the sole Arab participant in this edition. He embraced the responsibility of representing Arab basketball and emerged victorious, achieving a huge milestone.
