Telangana CM launches two programmes to support existing women-led enterprises, cultivate innovation among youth
To accelerate the growth of some 140 existing women-led MSMEs across Telangana, a Women Acceleration Program, supported by the Ministry of MSME and the World Bank, was launched by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on Saturday (May 17, 2025).
The Chief Minister reiterated the government's aim to empower one crore women to become millionaires. He spoke about how women from self help groups (SHG) pay back the loans with interest without a miss.
A flagship initiative under the national RAMP scheme, the Women Acceleration Programme aims to strengthen the capabilities of women entrepreneurs to scale sustainably and enhance their competitiveness — enabling women to achieve economic autonomy, leadership in business, and long-term entrepreneurial success. This would be achieved through targeted capacity building, tailored mentorship, financial enablement, expanded market access and other methods, CEO of WE Hub Sita Pallacholla said.
Besides, WE Hub's Grassroot Youth Innovation Program (GYIP) — designed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among rural youth in the State — was launched by the Chief Minister. The program focuses on equipping young individuals with job readiness skills, mentorship, and hands-on experience, enabling them to become changemakers in their communities, WE HUB said in a release. The program will outreach over 6000 students, 4000 students to be sensitized, 1500 to be onboarded onto iLEAP, and 500 to be onboarded to Campuspreneur program.
The iLEAP programs support students in the age of 17-23 years to explore new technology trends and experience advancement in their careers by mastering critical thinking, innovation, and leveraging advanced tools. While this focus on students in rural areas, WE Enable is being implemented for urban students to meet the objective, Ms. Sita explained.

Proposals for Metro Rail Phase 2 submitted to Centre
Hyderabad The proposals for Metro Rail Phase 2 (B), along with all the required documents and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), were submitted to the Union Government on Saturday. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, during his recent visit to New Delhi, urged the Centre to sanction permissions for the project at the earliest. The Phase 2 (B) project consists of three corridors — Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to Bharat Future City (39.6 km) with an estimated cost of ₹7,168 crore; Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to Medchal (24.5 km) to be constructed at an estimted cost of ₹6,946 crore and JBS to Shamirpet (22 km) to be constructed at ₹5,465 crore. It covers a total length of 86.1 km involving an investment of ₹19,579 crore. As per the JV project norms of the Central government, Phase 2 (B) cost of ₹19,579 crore will have GoTG's share of ₹5,874 crore (30%), GoI's share of ₹3,524 crore (18%); debt from international financial institutions of ₹9,398 crore (48%) and a small PPP component of ₹783 crore (4%).

₹7,770.83 crore disbursed under Rythu Bharosa, benefiting over 66 lakh farmers
The State government disbursed ₹7,770.83 crore as of Saturday under the Rythu Bharosa scheme for the Vanakalam crop, covering 126.28 lakh acres and benefiting 66,18,931 farmers who hold land up to 9 acres. During the launch of the Rythu Nestham programme held at Prof. Jayashankar Telangana Agriculture University in Hyderabad on Monday, June 16, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that ₹9,000 crore would be credited as the Vanakalam instalment of Rythu Bharosa, the farmers' investment support scheme, within nine days. As promised, the State government is disbursing the amount every day since Monday. On the sixth day, 67,352 farmers holding up to 8 acres (total of 4,43,193.20 acres) were credited with the amount, while 39,164 farmers holding up to 9 acres (total of 3,23,875 acres) were provided with financial assistance, much to the joy of the farmers.

Addressing the 6th edition of CSR and Sustainability Conference and Awards for 2024, organised by Assocham Southern Region, the Deputy CM said, 'In Telangana, we are shaping a new development narrative, one that does not separate economics from ethics. We are committed to building a State that is fiscally responsible, socially inclusive and environmentally conscious.' Look beyond balance sheets Asserting that true development is one that empowers people to stand on their feet, especially in today's 'world of unprecedented resources and extraordinary inequality,' Mr. Vikramarka urged business leaders to look beyond balance sheets to a future we are shaping together. Let us not act not out of charity but out of shared responsibility… work for transformation and build societies that flourish.' Telangana is an ideal destination for corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The State provides a platform not just to fulfill CSR mandates, but to do so with 100% impact and transparency. He called upon companies across India to consider Telangana as a prime hub for their CSR investments. The State offers an industry-friendly ecosystem where there are no language barriers; law and order is maintained; and offering abundant, affordable skilled human resources, which the government had set out to enhance with initiatives such as the Young India integrated residential schools and the Young India Skills University. Above all, the State has a proactive, friendly government, the Deputy Chief Minister said. Telangana's competition is not as much with other Indian states as with developed nations. In sectors like healthcare, pharma, IT, and agriculture produce, the State has set an unmatched trajectory, he added. Real purpose of CSR is not ticking the box but recognising that growth without inclusion is fragile and that profits without purpose are hollow. Sustainability is not only about the environment, it is about human dignity too, he said. Assocham in a release said that special addresses, and panel discussions on various topics formed part of the conference. Over 20 organisations were presented awards across various categories for their contributions in CSR and sustainability.
