Print Hall will compete in a cook-off to reveal the best steak sandwich in Perth in June.
Run by the Australian Hotels Association (WA) and Little Creatures, nominees were picked by public vote and the winner will be decided in a live cook-off at the AHA Hospitality Expo at Crown Perth, where the winner will be announced live on stage.

Its steak sandwich features Knead Scarborough sourdough, 150g of sirloin, porcini mushrooms, triple cream brie, tomatoes, rocket, house-made salsa verde served with roasted chat potatoes and a house salad.
Print Hall food and beverage manager Cristiano Frualini said the steak sandwich stood out from the rest due to the commitment to fresh ingredients.

'The bread is amazing. We did a little bit of a research and we are sourcing the bread from Knead Baker in Scarborough and we are using the Scarborough sour, which I think is really one of the best sourdough that is made in WA.'
Mr Frualini said the recipe was developed collaboratively by executive chef Paolo Del Monte, Print Hall general manager John Hutton, himself and other senior staff across entertainment group Night Owl and Print Hall.
'We gathered our our brains together and we spent quite a bit of time on it,' he said.

The competition was a welcome addition to the Print Hall resume, with Mr Frualini saying preparing for it had been a lot of fun.
'It felt a little bit of pressure at the beginning, but it gave us an opportunity to measure ourselves on something that is not fine dining or hot cuisine that we do a little bit more often,' he said.
'It's amazing to put together something amazing which is a bit more simple and more for the general public. And we loved it.'
Print Hall will be competing against other metro finalists Carrington's Bar & Grill in Hamilton Hill, The Central in Butler and The Last Local in Canning Vale.
The judging criteria includes the tenderness of the meat, the presentation, the originality/creativity, chips, sauces, overall flavour and value for money.

The AHA & Little Creatures WA's Best Steak Sandwich competition will be held on June 25.
Print Hall has also been selected to compete in AHA's best cocktail competition. Out of 70 venues across WA, Print Hall has landed in the top four for both categories.

Although this dog handler might be learning some new tricks behind the scenes. 'There are moments where I'll pull aside some of the pros and be like, 'That knee slide, how do you do that?'' he said. 'So I have spent just a little bit of time in the studio, learning a few little bits and pieces.' Co-hosting with Sonia Kruger, Brown said the pair's blink-and-you'll-miss-it dance routines to open each show can feel like an eternity, but he's found a way to become a 'master at the two-second shimmy'. He said his on-screen dynamic with the 2025 Gold Logie nominee is driven by relentless banter, with the pair constantly 'throwing curveballs' and hoping the other will crack. The duo will be reprising their roles as Logies red carpet hosts on August 3. However, Brown admitted he'd be leaving much of the fashion commentary to his wing woman, because unfortunately, he shares more with man's best friend than most. 'I'm colour blind, so I just have a golden rule that I never ask, I never make any comment around what anyone's wearing, or the colour of what they're wearing, or anything to do with fashion whatsoever,' he revealed. 'It's just a minefield.' Fortunately, the animal expert is far better suited to steer his new show Once in a Lifetime, set to debut later this year. It sees Brown leave the comfort of the studio, and the vet hospital, venturing abroad with far-from-qualified Aussie personalities as they attempt to treat unpredictable animals with more than just a humorous line or two. 'The catch is that they have to be my completely untrained veterinary assistant. It's a crazy concept, but it works,' he said. Guests include Mick Molloy, Kate Ritchie, Matt Preston, and Amanda Keller, with the star joking he was 'relieved we got everyone back alive, because it was an insurance nightmare'. Despite being worlds away from home, Brown struggled to escape the same familiar interrogation from his guests surrounding his qualifications. They would ask: 'Are you actually qualified to do this?' An award-winning artistic director and performer is set to bring a fresh twist to a popular annual winter festival in Perth's south. James Berlyn is co-curating this year's Melville Midwinter event at Dyoondalup Point Walter Reserve on June 21 alongside the City of Melville's creative producer of arts and culture, Zoe Atkinson. Mr Berlyn has been a performer, director and art lecturer for 40 years and is best known for his time at the WA Theatre Company where he directed Rest. Your local paper, whenever you want it. Rest was an interactive experience staged amongst the tombstones at East Perth Cemetery in 2019. It was recognised with the Theatre Award and The West Australian Arts Editor Award. This weekend's free event, which celebrates the winter solstice and the Noongar season of Makuru, will feature a series of musical, dance, visual art and spoken word performances ahead of the event's climax, a mass plunge of willing participants off the jetty. Mr Berlyn said the Melville Midwinter event is committed to 'embracing time and culture' with the return of crowd-favourite activities including marshmallow roasting by the fire. 'Even though it's the middle of winter, people can come together and celebrate at a time when we often have our heads down and were just kind of getting through and surviving,' he said. 'Of course, there are some things that had to come back like the marshmallows and the jetty jump for the brave who really want to embrace the nature of cool water at that time of year.' Among the other food offerings will be mulled wine and hot soup. As the sun sets lanterns will light the way to the performance stations up Dyoondalup Hill. The Melville Midwinter, which celebrates the winter solstice and the Noongar season of Makuru, will feature a series of musical, dance, visual art and spoken word performances ahead of the events climax, the mass plunge off the jetty. Credit: The City of Melville Among this year's performers is the Kangaroos With Machine Guns band who are scheduled to debut a seven-minute song made especially for the Melville Midwinter. Melville mayor Katy Mair said the event, from 5pm to 8pm, is a chance for the community to toast the longest night of the year. 'Melville Midwinter has become a much-loved winter celebration in the local community,' she said. 'We're proud to be able to curate some of the best local talent across a wide range of arts offerings and create a platform for everyone in the community to celebrate the season.'
