Taraji P. Henson Talks New Ventures After Hollywood Treatment
Back in 2023, Taraji P. Henson memorably broke down in tears as she opened up about constantly fighting for equal pay in Hollywood.
'I'm just tired of working so hard, being gracious at what I do, [and] getting paid a fraction of the cost,' she said as she opened up about her treatment in Hollywood as a Black woman. 'I'm tired of hearing my sisters say the same thing over and over. You get tired.'
Fast forward to today, and Taraji has opened up about the subject again during a recent talk at the Kering Women in Motion event at Cannes.
After revealing that she recently took a month off of acting and relocated to Bali, Taraji recalled feeling 'discouraged' by her treatment in Hollywood. 'I was just frustrated and it was making me bitter, and I'm not a bitter person,' she said, per Variety. 'I made a promise to myself that if I ever got there, it's time to walk away. I'm not serving myself or the audience or the characters I play. Thank God I did that. I came back refreshed and with a new perspective.'
Taraji went on to note that she'd spent years being 'graceful in getting paid less than.' 'Not anymore though!' she said, adding that when she returned from Bali, she focused on non-acting ventures — like her hair care brand, TPH — instead of 'relying on that check from Hollywood.'

"So, when we went into season two, I was like, 'Hey, my hair got pretty damaged in season one. Can I get a wig?' And they were like, 'All right, bet. We'll give you a wig.' So my hair was put through heat every single day to match the pattern of the wig, which we ended up not even using the entire time because it didn't look right. ESPN's Jay Harris shares major health update after prostate cancer reveal
'SportsCenter' anchor Jay Harris said he is recovering from a successful surgery to remove his prostate after revealing his cancer diagnosis earlier this month. In a social media video posted Monday, the 60-year-old ESPN stalwart explained his prostate cancer did not spread and that he's doing well while recovering at home. 'My doctor said the surgery went really well,' Harris said. 'So well, in fact, that the cancer that was in my prostate stayed there. It didn't spread to any surrounding areas. So when he took the prostate out, he took that with it. So it's all good. Harris added he'll be resting at home and will return to work next month. 'There are other details that I won't bore you with, but the main thing is, we're all good.
