
Gwent events: Steam and Country Show, AM Fest and more
The Border Counties Steam and Country Show will be held at Vauxhall Fields, Monmouth, on May 4.
(Image: Supplied) Visitors will be treated to a display of vintage vehicles, including steam engines, caravans and classic cars.
The event will also feature a countryside corner, children's entertainment, trade stalls, a craft marquee, a car boot sale, and dog shows.
Entry is cash only, with adult tickets priced at £8, concessions at £7, and children aged 10 to 16 at £4.
Children under 10 can attend for free.
The Abergavenny Music Festival, or AM Fest, is set to bring live music to the town on Sunday, May 4.
(Image: Supplied) The event, held at Abergavenny Museum and Castle, will have two stages with live music throughout the day.
There will also be bars, street food, stalls, a funfair, and TV show characters for children to enjoy.
Tickets are £12 for adults and £6 for children.
The William Marshall Weekend at Chepstow Castle will take place from May 3 to May 5.
(Image: Supplied) The event will feature archery, weaponry, and combat demonstrations by the Bowlore medieval display group, as well as interactive activities such as have-a-go archery and sword schools.
Normal admission fees apply, with additional charges for activities.
The South Wales Car Festival, organised by St David's Hospice Care, will be held at Chepstow Racecourse on Sunday, May 4.
(Image: Supplied) The event will showcase a range of vehicles, including supercars, classic cars, and emergency service vehicles.
There will also be bars, street food, a kids' corner, live music, craft stalls, and local produce.
All funds raised will go towards the hospice's work.
Tickets can be purchased online, with adult tickets priced at £16, children's tickets at £5, and a family ticket (two adults, three children) at £35.
Over 60s can attend for £5.
Finally, Star Wars fans can look forward to the Star Wars Day Celebrations at 37a Bridge Street, Usk, on May 4 and May 5.
(Image: Supplied) The event will feature movie showings, a Star Wars quiz with cash and Star Wars prizes, and a cantina party with Star Wars cocktails.
There will also be a hunt for Baby Yoda and an intergalactic playlist.
A special Bantha Steak Rarebit will be available, and Star Wars themed beers will be on tap.

Glen Powell visits Glasgow cinema while filming Hollywood blockbuster
Hollywood star Glen Powell paid a visit to a Glasgow cinema amid filming a new blockbuster in the city. The Twisters star was seen filming a bus stunt scene in Glasgow this week as shooting takes place for the American fantasy titled Ghostwriter. Filming for the movie by former Star Wars director JJ Abrams started in Glasgow on Saturday after principal photography began in London on April 26. The crew previously filmed scenes in Edinburgh. Glasgow is said to be doubling as a futuristic New York for the movie, which also stars Samuel L Jackson, Emma Mackey, and Jenna Ortega. Produced by Warner Bros, the film marks Abrams' first project since Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker in 2019. Filming is taking place throughout the city in June with a number of roads closed between June 8 and 23. Glasgow City Council says the project will bring millions to the local economy. On Thursday evening, Powell visited the Grosvenor Picture Theatre in Ashton Lane and snapped a picture. A post by the cinema on Instagram read: 'We were delighted to welcome a special guest to the Grosvenor Picture Theatre last night – actor Glen Powell. Hollywood director dines at Glasgow city centre Italian
The Starwars director dined at Italian restaurant Sarti on Bath Street last night (June 19). A post shared on Facebook by the restaurant along with a photo of Abrams with staff read: "We had the pleasure of welcoming JJ Abrams to Sarti Bath St last night. "He's in Glasgow filming his new movie Ghostwriter and popped in for some proper Italian hospitality."
