
Egypt: Canal Shipping Agencies logs 65% YoY higher profits in H1 FY2024/25
Canal Shipping Agencies (CSAG) logged net profits after tax of EGP 905.87 million in the first half (H1) of fiscal year (FY) 2024/2025, an annual hike of 65% from EGP 547.55 million, according to the financial results.
Sales hit EGP 62.01 million at the end of December 2024, up 22% year-on-year (YoY) from EGP 50.76 million.
In the first quarter (Q1) of FY2024/25, Canal Shipping Agencies posted 136.84% YoY higher net profits after tax at EGP 33.325 million, compared to EGP 14.071 million.
The EGX-listed firm is a Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport's subsidiary that provides marine port services and shipping services to international commercial fleets.
The company operates four agencies: Asswan Shipping Agency, Assuit Shipping Agency, El Menia Shipping Agency, and Damanhour Shipping Agency.

Egypt: Canal Shipping extends operation deal for 2 storage yards at Safaga Port
Arab Finance: Canal Shipping Agencies has extended its contract with the Red Sea Ports Authority for managing and operating two cargo storage yards at Safaga Port to 10 years for each one, according to a bourse disclosure. The company inked a partnership agreement with the Suez Mechanical Stevedoring Company on October 8 th, 2023, to operate the two yards in exchange for a percentage of the general revenue. A total of 80% of the revenues will be allocated to the Red Sea Ports Authority, while the remaining 20% will be directed to the two companies. The previous agreement included seven years for operating the general cargo and vehicle storage yard, with an area of 24,320 meters, and five years for the hazardous materials yard, with an area of 5,140 meters. CI Capital's subsidiary launches Egypt's 1st sustainable equity fund Misr Green
Arab Finance: CI Capital Asset Management, a subsidiary of CI Capital Holding, has launched Egypt's first open-ended sustainable equity fund, Misr Green – Sustainability (ESG) Fund, as per an emailed press release. The fund, which will be the first sustainable fund offered on Egyptian banking platforms, opens for subscription on Wednesday, June 18 th, through CI Capital Securities Brokerage as the receiving entity. Meanwhile, the purchases and redemptions will be implemented through Banque Misr. It aims to invest in the 30 best-performing listed companies on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) across a diversified range of sectors, including financial services, industrials, healthcare, consumer goods, and real estate. The fund targets sustainable companies, achieving a return that reflects the index's performance with a correlation coefficient of at least 90%, taking into account tracking error. The Misr Green – Sustainability (ESG) Fund is an open-ended ESG index tracker fund that invests in the 30 best-performing listed companies on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), selected for their leadership in environmental, social responsibility, and governance (ESG) standards across a diversified range of sectors. USD/EGP exchange rates edge up at Egyptian banks on mid-Wednesday
Arab Finance: The exchange rate of the US dollar to Egyptian pound registered EGP 50.2 for buying and EGP 50.3 for selling at the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) at 11:11 AM. The exchange rate went up, recording EGP 50.44 for purchasing and EGP 50.54 for selling at Banque Misr at 10:54 AM.
