‘Don't want to work as hard' – Judd Trump takes swipe at lazy young British snooker stars as China continue to take over
JUDD TRUMP reckons English kids are lazier than their Chinese counterparts when it comes to snooker dedication.
A Far East revolution is going to sweep the sport led by new world champion Zhao Xintong, who is only 28 and tipped to dominate.

There are 14 Chinese stars in the world's top 50 and 11 of those are younger than 30.
In contrast, there are only TWO Brits under the age of 30 — Welshman Jackson Page, 23 and Leicester's Joe O'Connor, 29.
Current world No 1 Trump, 35, hails from Bristol and dedicated his youth to the sport, becoming world champion in 2019.
Yet apart from Halifax's Stan Moody, who is 18-years-old and ranked 64th, Trump does not see much coming through from the traditional heartlands.
The Juddernaut said: 'I just think kids from the UK don't want to work as hard. It's as simple as that.
'I don't think they have any less chances. They don't want it as bad as some over in China.
'Kids nowadays, their lifestyle is too luxurious. They want all the latest gadgets and trainers.
'Not willing to lock themselves in a room for five or six hours a day, which many of the Chinese players do.
'The Chinese are hungrier than them. That's my attitude.
'Apart from a couple of players, Stan Moody is one of them, who looks like he wants it.
'I don't think the hunger is there, to be honest. And you can see that when they play.
'Academies should have been done a long time ago. Maybe 10-15 years ago in my eyes.
'You see it in other sports and Ronnie has got his now. There are the ones in China.
'It's been overlooked. World Snooker, with the levies we pay (on prize money), should have done it a long time ago.
'It would have been a lot easier and perhaps fund some of these overseas players and maybe some people that can't afford that kind of thing.
'Some of the money could be distributed in better ways to promote snooker, rather than go to some of these qualifying venues that aren't fit for snooker.'

England football star Kieran Trippier and his wife 'to divorce' - after he broke his silence on their marriage split
English ace Kieran Tripper and wife Charlotte are divorcing, according to reports. The Newcastle United right-back revealed earlier this week that he split from his wife Charlotte more than a year ago. But a source said that the pair are definitely committed to making the separation permanent, the Sun has now reported. Trippier, 34, married Charlotte in Cyprus in 2016 and the couple have three children togther, Jacob, and two daughters, Esme and Isla. The source said: 'Charlotte has been open with her friends about getting a divorce. She has been seeking legal advice and is keen to move on with her life. 'Kieran is a devoted dad but as a partner it hasn't worked out as Charlotte had hoped. 'She has moved house and started anew, so getting a divorce has been the next logical step. Charlotte wants to keep things as amicable as possible with Kieran.' The 34-year-old football star said on Wednesday in a statement on Instagram stories: 'I feel I have no choice but to confirm publicly that myself and Charlotte separated over a year ago. 'Myself and Charlotte separated over a year ago. I have not commented previously as it is a private matter and we want to protect our children.' Kieran and Charlotte married in 2016 and sources say that they were keen to keep their split a secret so their kids would not have to deal with any upset. However, it has been reported that Charlotte has a new property where she lives without Kieran. Rumours of their split began during last year's Euros in Germany when Charlotte unfollowed her husband on Instagram on the end of the England's final group game. She also did not jet to Germany like other WAGs. She then posted a cryptic message on social media, saying: 'Sooner or later you get over the s*** you swore you'd never get over and it's the best feeling in the world.' Further posts included the caption 'the sun is shining, happy Monday', where Charlotte was seen sitting in the car listening to music while she waited to pick up her children from school. Meanwhile, the footballer, 34, was reportedly seen mingling in Ibiza with another woman this week. The Newcastle United player was spotted partying with Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry and her pals including Love Island star Jess Harding at Ushuaia club on the White Isle. The sportsman announced his retirement from international football in August last year - with MailOnline revealing how he wanted to to focus on life outside the game following his marriage breakdown. MailOnline has approached representatives of Kieran Trippier for comment, and also Charlotte Trippier.

King Charles has delighted Ascot racegoers for four consecutive days in a display that proves that, at 77, the Monarch has staying power
Dapper in his morning suit, doffing his top hat to the ladies and beaming with delight at being surrounded by family and friends, King Charles proved he has as much staying power as the racehorses at Royal Ascot this week. Despite still undergoing regular weekly treatment for cancer more than a year after his initial diagnosis, His Majesty braved soaring temperatures to attend the world-famous race meet each day. Indeed the Mail understands that he has been so buoyed by the experience that he also plans to attend today too, his fifth day in a row. But there has been a serious side to the King's attendance: both he and his wife, Queen Camilla, feel strongly that Royal Ascot is an important showcase for both the British racing industry and the UK as a global tourist attraction, more generally. Indeed, the Berkshire racecourse has seen record attendance figures all week and, according to head of corporate affairs, Will Aitkenhead, seeing the monarch and his family is an intrinsic part of what makes the event so popular with the public. Describing how the course was founded by Queen Anne in 1711, he explained: 'Three hundred years later, we are still putting on top class racing. 'Thirteen monarchs through to His Majesty The King now. 'The support of the Royal Family for the meeting is incredible. People really look forward to seeing them here. 'Sometimes they have runners on the day and sometimes they are just here to support the industry, but either way they are an intrinsic part of the day. 'We welcome guests from around the world in particular America, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, UAE and across Europe. Royal Ascot is also broadcast in 180 countries. Horses from Japan, France, Germany, Norway, Australia, America, Ireland and Qatar compete, and lots of jockeys from overseas as well. Royal Ascot is a huge soft power asset for Britain.' A royal aide agreed, stressing how much Charles, 77, had embraced the 'sport of kings' so loved by his late mother and enjoyed interacting with so many members of the public, adding: 'The King feels it is important to show support for what is a huge industry and global showcase for the UK, especially given the number of high-level international visitors it attracts. 'He also genuinely enjoys the chance to catch up with old friends, celebrate royal tradition and see members of the wider public particularly given the [health] issues [he has endured] over the last year.' Indeed jovial Charles, 76, was seen yesterday affectionately kissing the hands of his stylish niece, Princess Eugenie, and her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, who was wearing a vintage 1991 Catherine Walker outfit pulled from her wardrobe with a Jess Collett hat and Ethan K handbag. He also appeared entranced by his niece, Zara Tindall, who rocked the trouser suit look now permitted in the Royal Enclosure with a stylish powder blue two-piece. The King's own style nod has been to wear a different waistcoat with his morning suit each day – in pale shades of baby pink and blue or primrose yellow. His wife, Queen Camilla, looked cool in a white chiffon dress with embroidered flowers by Anna Valentine with a white feathered Philip Treacy hat and Queen Elizabeth's 'raspberry pip' diamond brooch. Among the other stars catching the action was Harry Potter creator, JK Rowling, who wore an oversized blue hat.
