BRS Working President KT Rama Rao celebrates Telangana Formation Day with NRIs
Texas [USA], June 2 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao celebrated the Telangana Formation Day and the silver jubilee of the party with NRIs at the Dr Pepper Arena in Dallas in Texas, USA.
Sharing an X post, KTR said, 'A large number of Telangana NRIs, party leaders, MLAs, former ministers, former MLAs, and public representatives participated.'
Addressing the event, Rao said, 'June 2nd, a 60-year dream comes true! The day when decades of ambitions, hopes, aspirations, dreams came true!'
He added that it is Telangana's style to make the impossible possible and that the state has made many things possible that were thought to be impossible.
'Telangana has emerged as a leading state in no time, surpassing the big states that have been established for decades,' KTR said.
The Telangana MLA, during his speech, lauded the Indian Armed Forces for avenging the terror attack on tourists at Pahalgam.
He added, 'Our Slogan is 'Jai Telangana', but when we are outside the state, we are Telugus, and when we are out of the country, we are all proud Indians.'
Earlier, KT Rama Rao was in London, where he participated in India Week 2025, an international forum organised by Bridge India. He delivered the keynote address on Friday, highlighting Telangana's governance model during the nine-year BRS tenure, focusing on innovation-driven development and inclusive growth.
He also informed that the theme of his talk at the India Week Conference was 'Why Telangana Matters'.
Meanwhile, BRS MLC and Rao's sister K Kavitha celebrated by hoisting the national flag and Telangana Jagruthi's flag at the newly inaugurated Telangana Jagruthi Office.
Telangana celebrates its 11th Formation Day. The state was officially formed on 2 June 2014. Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), now Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), chief K Chandrashekar Rao was elected as the state's first Chief Minister, following elections in which the party secured a majority. (ANI)

(Image credits: ANI) Brent Crude prices spiked as much as 5% on Monday following the US airstrikes on Iran's key nuclear facilities on Sunday. The move ended days of speculation over whether the US President Donald Trump would join Israel in its confrontation with Iran. While prices surged initially, they soon pared gains. The attacks on Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan had led to expectations of a sustained oil rally. Iran is the third-largest producer in the OPEC+ bloc and accounts for around a third of global oil output. Last week, Brent Crude futures rose 11%, touching $80 per barrel before retreating. Prices rebounded again as Trump kept markets guessing on the US's involvement, but hopes of a ceasefire and ample supply from OPEC+ capped further gains. Analysts noted that demand remains weak, giving little reason for oil to hold elevated levels. OPEC+ is scheduled to meet on July 5 to discuss another output hike for August, after already increasing supplies by 4.11 million barrels per day in June and July. Saul Kavonic, an energy analyst at MST Marquee, said, 'Much depends on how Iran responds in the coming hours and days, but this could set us on a path toward $100 oil, if Iran responds as they have previously threatened to,' Iran claims it reserves the right to respond to the US attacks. Local media reports its parliament has approved the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, though the final call rests with its National Security Council. The US has urged China to discourage Iran from taking that step. T he Strait of Hormuz is a critical oil chokepoint, more than 20 million barrels per day, or 20% of the world's oil supply, passed through it last year, according to the US Energy Information Administration. Goldman Sachs has warned that a closure of the strait could push oil prices above $100 per barrel. However, JPMorgan views the possibility as low, saying such a move could be seen by the US as an "act of war." Rising crude prices could hurt India's economy, particularly oil marketing companies like HPCL, BPCL, and Indian Oil, along with industries like aviation, paints, and tyres that rely heavily on oil. Goldman Sachs' Santanu Sengupta told CNBC-TV18 that a rise in crude to $75 per barrel would hurt India's macroeconomic stability. A $10-per-barrel increase could raise the cost burden by 30–40 basis points. Samiran Chakraborty, chief India economist at Citi, also noted that supply chain disruptions could raise inflation risks, but said India may still be able to manage slightly higher prices due to its limited exposure to Iranian oil. US officials said no further strikes are planned for now, but warned that any retaliation from Iran would invite an even more forceful response. 'This is the big one,' said John Kilduff of Again Capital, pointing to a possible $8-a-barrel risk premium. 'The market default on this development is higher. ‘KCR trying to wash his hands of irregularities in KLIP'
Hyderabad: Telangana state BJP Vice-President and former MLA NVSS Prabhakar today accused former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of attempting to distance himself from the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) by placing the blame on the engineers who appeared before the P C Ghose Commission. This commission is investigating irregularities and structural failures at the Medigadda barrage, as well as damage at the Annaram and Sundilla barrages. Prabhakar claimed that the decision to change the project site to Medigadda was purely political and that this change was ratified by the cabinet. Addressing the media on Sunday, Prabhakar said that the BJP would await the final report from the P.C. Ghose Commission, emphasizing that there is no question of letting the leaders involved in KLIP irregularities off the hook. He reiterated the call for a CBI inquiry to get to the truth. Prabhakar accused BRS party chief and former Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao of ignoring warnings from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). Rather than correcting the mistakes in the projects, KCR has allowed the irrigation experts to proceed with KLIP, resulting in significant losses. He criticized KCR for telling the Ghose Commission that the cabinet had granted permission based on the recommendations of irrigation experts. As the head of government, KCR should have taken moral responsibility for his mistakes instead of placing the blame on his cabinet and the irrigation experts, Prabhakar alleged. Prabhakar noted that the Kaleshwaram project's location shifted from Tummadihatti to Medigadda. He mentioned that the project work at Tummadihatti was initiated by the Congress government before the BRS came to power. However, the BRS changed the location and increased the project estimation costs by two to three times without calling for tenders for the Medigadda barrage works. He questioned KCR about who was responsible for the shrinkage of columns in the barrage, the non-functioning of the pump motors, and the breaches in the canals. Prabhakar accused the state Congress government of Revanth Reddy, of failing to uphold the constitution by not conducting local body elections even after 18 months in power. He demanded that the Congress government announce a schedule for local body elections immediately.

BRS leaders applaud KCR for timely completion of Kaleshwaram
Hyderabad: Speakers at a roundtable meeting credited BRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for the timely construction of the Kaleshwaram project and for providing irrigation water to the state. The speakers asserted that today's rulers are governing in the name of religion, disregarding the benefits of vital projects, and exploiting human weaknesses. The discussion, titled 'Telangana Water Resources... Agriculture... Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow', was organised by the Telangana Social Foundation (TSF) at Shoebullah Hall in Sundarayya Vigyan Kendram on Sunday. Participants stated that previous Telangana rulers had initiated project construction for the survival of all living beings and the conservation of fertile lands. Former Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy elaborated on the importance of water and criticised what he described as the current rulers' negligence in irrigation water storage policies. He lauded the then Telangana rulers, referring to KCR, for observing that centuries of inadequate irrigation projects had led to fertile lands being washed away and diluted into the sea due to water wastage, leaving remaining lands unfit for agriculture and jeopardising all life. He noted that KCR took up the construction of projects, stored water, and paved the way for the future of coming generations. The BRS leader lamented that the state's rightful water shares are now being transferred to other states due to what he termed the lack of foresight of the current rulers. He highlighted that in undivided Andhra Pradesh, rulers took 20, 30, even 40 years to build projects like Nagarjunasagar, Srisailam, and Jurala, whereas KCR built the Kaleshwaram project in a mere three and a half years, providing water to one crore acres. He added that 90 per cent of the Palamuru Ranga Reddy projects were also completed under the previous administration. The former minister expressed concern that the current rulers are reportedly unable to complete even the remaining 10 per cent of the work. He warned that if the current situation persists, future generations might have to seek habitats on another planet. CPM Secretary John Wesley, Sridhar Rao Deshpande, Venugopal Swamy, Ayachitam Sridhar, and Thanniru Venkatesham participated in this meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Otendhu Narasimha Reddy.
