Abu Dhabi Summer Sports - is currently underway in Abu Dhabi emirate, organised by ADNEC Group, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The event is the largest indoor summer sports event of its kind in the Middle East, and runs until August 21, 2025.Now in its fourth year, the event is aligned with the UAE Year of Community, encouraging Abu Dhabi residents to lead healthy lifestyles and engage in physical activities within fully air-conditioned and comfortable indoor environments during the summer months.Open daily from 6am-1am, Abu Dhabi Summer Sports aims to attract visitors of all ages and interests.The 2025 edition introduces a wide range of new features, including the launch of the globally renowned HYROX indoor fitness race on July 19, which will bring together gym enthusiasts and fitness lovers in a test of strength and endurance.Also new is a Club Zone for various combat and strength sports such as weightlifting, archery, judo, Muay Thai, and boxing, as well as dedicated summer camps and more than 50 inclusive community events for all age groups.Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said: 'The fourth edition of Abu Dhabi Summer Sports represents an important opportunity for community members of all ages to engage in sports during the summer in a comfortable and safe environment that enhances their happiness and interaction."This event aligns with the objectives of the Year of the Community, which focuses on strengthening social bonds and solidarity by encouraging everyone to participate in sports activities that promote a healthy lifestyle, and reinforce the ties between individuals and families in the community."Al Awani also expressed that Abu Dhabi Summer Sports serves as a vital platform that contributes to enhancing quality of life, promotes fitness and physical activity, and urges individuals and families to enjoy an active and joyful summer.He also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to all partners and sponsors of Abu Dhabi Summer Sports, whose fruitful cooperation and valuable efforts have played a pivotal role in the success of the event and the achievement of its goals across previous editions. Al Awani emphasised that the collaboration between various entities reflects the spirit of partnership and social responsibility, and further strengthens the event's status as a leading sports and social platform in the Emirate.Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, said: 'This event is part of our strategy to support the Year of Community and national efforts to promote health and wellness. The fourth edition marks a major leap in performance indicators, reinforcing the event's position as the largest of its kind for indoor summer sports in the region.'He highlighted that the event space has expanded by 10 per cent, now covering more than 37,000 square metres, with the number of courts and tracks increased to 52 to meet growing demand. The running track has been significantly upgraded, now featuring four lanes and stretching 1.2 kilometres. Abu Dhabi Summer Sports is ideal for all fitness levels and serves as a perfect venue for group events, including corporate gatherings, all under one roof with multiple food options available on-site.School summer camps will also be organised, offering a rich mix of sports, arts, and crafts to foster creativity, learning, and physical activity in a fun and healthy environment.
