Ultron, known for his strategic mind and tech-based powers, joins the game as a flying support hero—the first of his kind in Marvel Rivals. He can heal allies, shoot energy beams, and fly freely across the map. His ultimate summons drones that attack enemies and heal teammates, potentially changing how support roles are played.
Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 update: Ultron's new capabilities unlocking
Here's a breakdown of all the powers Ultron brings to the battlefield in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5:
Encephalo-Ray (LMB): Fires a continuous beam of burning energy.
Imperative: Firewall (RMB): Deploys drones that provide bonus health to nearby allies, centered on Ultron and a selected teammate.
Imperative: Patch (E): Sends a large drone to follow a chosen ally, healing all nearby teammates with extra healing for the marked target.
Dynamic Flight (Left Shift): Launches Ultron in a chosen direction, entering full flight mode for aerial mobility.
Rage of Ultron (Ultimate - Q): Summons attack drones that deal damage to enemies and heal teammates using Encephalo-Rays.
Algorithm Correction (Passive): Allows slow descent by holding the jump key (Space).
Ultron's arrival not only adds a new layer to team strategy but also marks the introduction of the game's first flying support hero.
What's new in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 update
Alongside Ultron's debut, a new game mode titled 'Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol' will go live on June 6. The mode allows players to customize hero traits and build lineups for more strategic, less chaotic combat.
The update also delivers major balance changes. Heroes like Storm, Squirrel Girl, and Doctor Strange are getting buffs, while others like Captain America, Groot, and Psylocke are being toned down. Team-up abilities are also getting a major overhaul, with six new combinations added and several fan-favorites removed.
New team pairings in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 update
Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 update will reportedly bring new pairing, tweaking and removing the old ones. Here's a quick look at the dynamic new combos fans can try out in the latest patch:
Symbiote Shenanigans (Venom + Jeff the Land Shark): This duo links to allies and provides passive healing during battle.
Operation: Microchip (The Punisher + Black Widow): Teams up to give Black Widow a new piercing line-shot attack.
Chilling Assault (Luna Snow + Hawkeye): Hawkeye's arrows gain icy power that boosts damage from a distance and adds a stun effect.
Rocket Network (Peni Parker + Rocket Raccoon): Enhances deployables like Cyber Webs and Spider-Drones for stronger battlefield control.
Jeff-Nado (Storm + Jeff the Land Shark): Creates a water tornado that damages and even devours enemies caught in its path.
The game's developers also confirmed that team-ups like 'Cheering Charisma' and 'Symbiote Bond' are being removed, and Iron Man will no longer be part of the 'Gamma Charge' team-up.
Season 2.5 also brings reworks to characters like Luna Snow and Jeff the Land Shark, adjusting their abilities for new playstyles.

How to get the Moon Knight Phoenix Knight skin in Marvel Rivals

Image via NetEase Games. The Season 2.5 update alone has featured a lot of hero skins in Marvel Rivals. Be it the premium skins like Ultron X-Tron, Groot Yggroot, Scarlet Witch Immortal Sovereign, or the free skins like Golden Ultron, Mister Fantastic Future Foundation, the recent mid-season refresh has it all. However, this is not the end as Marvel Rivals has recently launched a skin for our favorite MCU superhero, Moon Knight, as well. Along with it, a skin for Iron Fist has also been released as well. Everything you need to know about the Moon Knight Phoenix Knight skin in Marvel Rivals The Moon Knight Phoenix Knight skin has been launched in Marvel Rivals on June 20, 2025 at 2:00 AM UTC. Moon Knight along with Iron Fist marks the fourth set of shop skin after Sunshine Land Shark Jeff the Land Shark, Future Foundation Thing, and many more. Unlike his typical appearance in MCU, the Phoenix Knight skin is quite different. Similar to the Phoenix bird, the whole outfit is themed in flame red and gold. However, this version of Moon Knight might look familiar to the OG Marvel comics fans. In 2018 Avengers #36, in an attempt to obtain all the powers in the universe by the order of Khonsu, Moon Knight acquired Mjolnir and the strength of Iron First to become the Phoenix Force. And the recently released skin reminds us of that version of Moon Knight. Now, how to get this skin? Unlike all the available free skins in Marvel Rivals , you don't need to complete any quests or watch any Twitch streams to redeem this skin. As it's a paid skin, you can directly purchase it from the Store tab in the Main Menu of the game. There you will find the Featured Tab where you should definitely find it and can buy it for 1,400 units. However, if you buy the whole Phoenix Night bundle then you will get the skin as well as an MVP Animation, Emote, Nameplate, and Spray, that too for just 200 Units more. Blood Message trailer: A reflection of Black Myth Wukong and Ghost of Tsushima, NetEase announces first single-player game

After the exciting PlayStation State of Play event, which announced upcoming games like Astro Bot, First Steps, Ghost of Yotei, 007 First Light, and Nioh 3, among others, another enticing development is taking place in the world of gaming. Developers NetEase Games and 24 Entertainment have just announced a single-player action game titled Blood Message and dropped a 5-minute trailer. This will be NetEase's first ever single-player game. The game is set in the final years of the legendary Tang dynasty of China and follows the story of a nameless protagonist during the 'Dunhuang uprising'. The trailer opens with a shot of our protagonist wading through the desert while a voice in the background talks about the demise of the Tang dynasty. The game most likely is making a reference to the time when the dynasty weakened and lost control of the region of Dunhuang, which was a focal point of communication between China and the rest of the world. The region was fought over many times, and the story of the game seems to be set during one of those rebellions. We see our protagonist trying to rescue his son from the city before the war destroys it. He soon discovers that his son has decided to travel to the Tang capital as part of another uprising. ALSO READ: Call of Duty Black Ops 7 teaser: David Mason will battle fear itself to save a world on the brink of chaos. Watch From here the main narrative of the game begins, as we see a glimpse of the fight sequences and the overall world the story is set in. Some movements of the main character seem a bit like Assassin's Creed and Ghost of Tsushima, while the underlying presence of spirituality and belief in a higher someone reminds the viewer of the game Black Myth: Wukong, another game with Buddhist and Taoist folklore rooted deep within its story. The developers have already revealed that even though the game will feature an expansive world, the story in itself is linear in nature. Linear essentially means that while the players will have certain choices which can affect certain outcomes, the overall structure of the game shall remain fixed. No announcements about the release date have been made yet, and NetEase has not informed the audience about the consoles the game will be available on.
