New bus route changes: RTA shares 14 changes to Dubai bus routes
Major changes to 14 Dubai bus routes have now come into effect.
The Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) announced new bus route changes, including a new intercity Sharjah bus route.
Departing from the newly opened Stadium Bus Station in Dubai, the new E308 bus route will take passengers to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah.
The new intercity Dubai to Sharjah bus route will start on Friday May 3, and is priced at just Dhs12 for a one-way ticket.
The new bus route will provide an extra option for commuters between the two neighbouring emirates.
RTA is launching a new intercity bus service, Route E308, connecting Stadium Bus Station in Dubai to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah, effective 2 May 2025.

RTA changes 14 Dubai bus routes
The RTA also announced that changes to 14 bus routes across the emirate would come into force on Friday May 2.
Services will be rerouted and offer commuters a smoother, more efficient and comfortable commuting experience, according to the transport authority.
Route 17 will now terminate at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station.
Route 24 has been re-routed within the Al Nahda 1 area.
Route 44 will be re-routed from Al Rebat Street to serve Dubai Festival City.
Route 56 has been extended to reach DWC Staff Village.
Routes 66 & 67 will now stop at Al Ruwayah Farm area.
On the Route 32C, there will now be less services between Al Jafiliya Bus Station and Al Satwa Bus Station. Passengers travelling to Al Satwa may use Route F27 for continued service.
The bus stop has been moved from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2 on Route C26.
Route E16 will now terminate at Union Bus Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station.
The section between Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park has been curtailed on Route F12. Instead, the route will now be re-routed via Kuwait Street.
A Bus stop has been relocated from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2 on Route F27
Route F47 has been re-routed within Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
Route F54 has been extended to serve the new JAFZA South labour camp.
The bus stop on Route X92 has been moved from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 1.
Adel Shakeri, director of planning and business development at RTA's public transport agency said that expanding the public bus network and linking it with other transit modes was important.
He added: 'Enhancing intermodal connectivity is central to positioning public transport as the preferred choice for mobility across the emirate.'

6 facts you need to know about the Dubai Metro Blue Line
Work is finally underway on the Dubai Metro Blue Line – one of the biggest public transport projects in the emirate. The Blue Line will provide greater transport links for several busy residential neighbourhoods and allow visitors to explore Dubai more easily. Passenger numbers are expected to exceed 200,000 per day by 2030, rising to 320,000 per day by 2040 as Dubai continues to grow. The new line will consist of two routes – one 21km route and a smaller 9km route – and is scheduled to be completed on the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro in 2029. The Blue Line will have the world's tallest metro station Emaar Properties Station will be the world's tallest metro station (Credit: Dubai Media Office) In June, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai approved the design of the 'iconic' Emaar Properties Station on the Blue Line. The station, which will serve Dubai Creek Harbour, has been described as the 'highest metro station in the world' as it will stand at 74 metres tall. It was designed by the American architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, which is the same studio behind the Burj Khalifa. The exterior design was inspired by the shape of a seashell, and the interior reflects thematic models like heritage, earth, air, fire and water. More Dubai Metro stations will be named after brands (Credit: Dubai Media Office) When the design was approved for the Emaar Properties Station in Dubai Creek Harbour, it was revealed that the property developer would hold the naming rights for at least the first decade of operations. It will be the first but not the last station to be named after a brand on the Blue Line. In the next phase of the Dubai Metro Blue Line, the RTA will announce naming rights for other stations along the Blue Line. It is common for Dubai Metro stations to be named after brands, so you'll need to check ahead when planning any trips. Once completed, the Dubai Metro and Tram will have 78 stations Dubai Metro expansion plans have been announced (Credit: Dubai Media Office) With the addition of 14 brand new stations on the Blue Line, the Dubai Metro and Tram will have 78 stations. This will be an increase from 64 to 78 stations, with 67 of these serving the Dubai Metro. In 2024, the Dubai Government revealed that the Dubai Metro will have 140 stations by 2040. Currently, the Dubai Metro Blue Line is the only additional line that has been announced. Journey times will be up to 25 minutes The Dubai Metro Blue Line will have a direct link to Dubai International Airport (Credit: DXB) The new line will offer direct connectivity between Dubai International Airport and nine key areas once completed. Mirdif, Al Warqa, International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Academic City, Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City will all have a faster route to DXB. And the RTA says that travel time along the route will range from 10 minutes to 25 minutes, allowing more people to get to the airport in a flash. A public holiday in Dubai is always full of fun things to do, celebrations and special occasions that are some of the best in the world. And it's not just us that thinks so. In fact, 7.58 million people agreed, and all used public transport to get to their celebrations and over the long weekend. It seems more people than ever are making the most of all the incredible things the city has to see and do, as there was a 14 percent increase in the numbers since 2024. To really show you how many people were out hopping in Halas or swiping their Nol cards during Eid Al Adha, it's worth noting that on New Year's Eve 2024, the total number of passengers was 2.5 million. (Credit: Dubai Taxi Company) The number of metro passengers on both the red and green lines during the holiday reached 2,786,000, while the number of tram passengers reached 119,917. Out on the roads, public bus passengers reached 1,663,000, taxis carried 2,196,000, and shared transportation vehicles carried 504,159 passengers. Even marine transport was buzzing throughout the long weekend, with 307,684 people hopping on water taxis or abras. With such demand for public transport, it's no surprise that the latest metro line project is now well underway. Split into two routes, one spanning 21km and the other across 9km, the Blue Line will connect the north-east of the city with the existing Dubai Metro line and make it much easier and quicker to get around. It is scheduled to be completed by 2029, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro, and will eventually reach around one million people.
