Cancer Season Is Here — & It's Going To Be Unique For You
Hello summer and Cancer Season! Bust out the SPF 50 (or more) and head to the beach to luxuriate on the shore with the crabs. Fun times are here, even if we are dealing with three retrogrades in July. All the more reason to escape into nostalgic summer activities like going to the boardwalk, riding roller coasters at night, and hanging out at the beach by the bonfire.
The summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, which begins the second the sun enters Cancer, is the longest day of the year and initiates a new season, compelling us to celebrate. Narayana Montufar, author of Written in Your Stars: Use Your Saturn Return, Pluto Square, and Other Planetary Cycles to Become Your Best Self, says that the 'Summer Solstice comes with a big shift in both spiritual and relationship-related beliefs,' adding, 'old structures collapse' and we have the opportunity 'to rebuild new foundations for ourselves.' The summer Solstice kicks off Cancer season in a great way, which means we're going to feel good in our skin, more interested in enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
Cancer is an extremely sensitive and shielding zodiac sign. The water sign has a shell as part of their protective gear and will only let those they trust in. Although Cancers can be a little tough on people at first, it's a test to see if they want to invest time in you and that you are worthy of their energy. Even if you don't pass, you'll be in their realm for a while, just at arm's length. Did I mention they're the most amazing bestie? They'll dry your eyes when you cry and make you smile moments later.
During Cancer season, which lasts from June 20th to July 22th, we will all become honorary crabs, acting with emotional maturity and going with the flow of the ocean. However, our feelings will change every few days with the moon's phases and signs (because Cancer is ruled by the moon), so it might take a while to fully commit to a decision.
This Cancer season will be unique, as Jupiter will align with the water sign on June 24th, brightening up our vibe with exuberance and prosperity. This is a time in which our manifestations can come true. We could win big, but only if we take a chance. Positive energy will surround us, offering hope and happiness. Montufar says that these good vibes are here for a while and we'll be looking at an 'entire year of emotional expansion due to Jupiter, the planet of abundance, recently being in the sign of Cancer, its sign of exaltation.'
Saturn and Neptune in Aries square off with the sun in Cancer on June 22nd and 23rd. When the sun and Saturn aspect each other, we may feel as though we're being held back; however, the following day, Neptune will break the restrictive spell. Then the sky is a limit, nothing will hold us back at this time.
As the season progresses, Mercury retrograde in Leo heats up the summer from July 18th to August 11th, meaning we could face frustrations with communication, travel, and technology. Neptune retrograde in Aries commences on July 4th and ends on December 10th, taking a backward dip into the zodiac sign Pisces on October 22nd. Think about what you want to create and dedicate your time to during this planetary moonwalk. Saturn retrograde in Aries begins on July 13th, lasting until November 21st. Saturn retrograde makes a pitstop in Pisces on September 1st, suggesting we rethink our visions and next steps for the future. There may be projects on the back burner that have more juice in them. Can we re-imagine and restructure them this summer?
'Great Awakener' Uranus moves into Gemini on July 7th, but only for a few months. Don't worry, Uranus will move back into the air sign next year — this is a preview of what we can expect in 2026, so enjoy the ride. Uranus in Gemini is allowing us to be free and evoke transformation in our lives. Using our voices for change is important — not just for ourselves, but for our fellow earthlings.

General Daily Insight for June 21, 2025 We can push our way forward without breaking our backs today. The Moon is in reliable Taurus, where it will first trine Mars in Virgo, inspiring us to act, before going on to square Pluto in Aquarius, stirring up our desire for change. Mars will then go on to make a rare, beautiful sextile to enthusiastic Jupiter in Cancer at 11:49 pm EDT, offering almost everyone a burst of energy late in the day. This probably won't be a quiet evening. Aries March 21 – April 19 You can make your home into anything you want it to be, Aries. Your sign's traditional ruling planet, fierce Mars, is in your efficient 6th house, where it sextiles lucky Jupiter in your domestic 4th house. Don't let them egg you on too much — be wary of knocking down any walls unless you're sure they aren't load-bearing! Still, this energy encourages big changes, so don't be shocked if you feel the urge to completely renovate your space. Practically anything feels possible right now. Taurus April 20 – May 20 There has rarely been a better day to hit the town. Passionate Mars in your 5th House of Fun is embracing bountiful Jupiter in your 3rd House of Local Community. Jump out of bed and head straight into town, because you're practically bound to encounter some exciting opportunities if you do! This could be great for romantic encounters, but you can also have a terrific time with friends. Ultimately, just avoid being anti-social when there is so much for you to go and explore. Gemini May 21 – June 20 Get grounded in your ambitions. A special sextile between Mars in your foundational 4th house and Jupiter in your money-loving 2nd house is encouraging you to work as hard as you can to earn tangible results. Energetic Mars will provide you with all the energy required to make it happen, while Jupiter simultaneously offers you the opportunity to succeed. Don't sit back and let this slip through your fingers! You can achieve quite a bit if you put in the work and believe in yourself. Cancer June 21 – July 22 There is no holding you back! A lovely sextile between energetic Mars in your communication sector and fortuitous Jupiter in your loyal sign is encouraging you to speak up and take action in the name of whatever it is you want. Your energy will be at an all-time high, so try to find a productive outlet for yourself — or else you might wind up going in circles. Pick a path forward, then get going. You can take yourself practically wherever you like. Leo July 23 – August 22 Think outside the box — and work outside it, too. The planets are encouraging you to open your mind up as Mars in your grounded 2nd house uplifts Jupiter in your mysterious 12th house. You can reach distant places by taking unusual routes. Surprising windows of opportunity are everywhere, and their unusual nature won't hold you back from building them into very real and very positive results. This is the perfect time to develop a million-dollar idea (or even a billion-dollar idea). Virgo August 23 – September 22 The stars are putting you in charge. Mars in your meticulous sign is pushing you to work harder and express yourself more authentically than ever before. As the red planet is currently emboldening enthusiastic Jupiter in your communal 11th house, people near and far are more inclined to let you call the shots. You may not usually consider yourself the leader type, but you have more ability than you may even know! There's no need to limit yourself during this exciting time. Libra September 23 – October 22 There is no need to rush anything, Libra. Thanks to today's stunning sextile between Mars in your dreamy 12th house and Jupiter in your professional 10th house, you can get places easily and reach new heights without needing to wear yourself out in your attempts to make it happen. Think of today like a roller coaster — you may not have a lot of control over where you're going, but it is going to be a fun ride, nonetheless. Buckle up and have fun! Scorpio October 23 – November 21 Working together is key to your success. Mars in your 11th House of Global Communities is invigorating Jupiter in your 9th House of Expansion, so the best way forward is going to include having quite a few people by your side. Opportunities may arrive from far away, but you should have a much easier time making use of them when you allow others to play their part and contribute to your hopes and dreams. What you're about to accomplish could change your life. Sagittarius November 22 – December 21 The work you do presently can have massive results. The skies are hosting a potent sextile between action planet Mars in your 10th House of Career and bountiful Jupiter in your 8th House of Shared Resources. You are likely in no mood to waste your time with busywork or inconsequential tasks! A fresh opportunity on the professional front could yield a nice windfall, or perhaps you'll finally receive your just rewards for a project you've been hammering away at. You've definitely earned this. Capricorn December 22 – January 19 Someone has something special to offer you! Your expansion sector is all lit up, thanks to warrior Mars currently marching through that territory, boosting you to fly far and wide. Plus, you probably won't want to fly alone when Mars hypes up Jupiter in your relationship sector. Someone could show you the world in a way you've never imagined — no magic carpet required. You're all but guaranteed to love the experience, as well as the destination, so hop on without delay. Aquarius January 20 – February 18 You have all the drive you need to move mountains. A spectacular sextile between Mars in your all-or-nothing 8th house and Jupiter in your can-do 6th house is pushing you to be your most productive self. Jupiter will do its level best to ensure the process is not too difficult — it might even be fun! Mars, in turn, points you toward tangible rewards for your efforts. Burning the midnight oil at present could result in some pretty stupendous fireworks, so don't hold back. Pisces February 19 – March 20 This could be one of the loveliest moments of the year for you. A harmonious alignment between Mars in your partnership sector and Jupiter in your passion sector is setting you up for a day of fun and frolicking, specifically with someone special by your side. Whether they are a lover, a business partner, or a very close friend, consider allowing someone you trust to call the shots for the time being. This person should set up something unbelievably amazing!

16 of the 'sunniest' baby names for those born around summer solstice
Falling on Saturday 21 June, summer solstice is the longest day of the year and, for those who follow the astronomical calendar, the beginning of summer. Boasting the most hours of daylight and the shortest night, it's a date that's been celebrated throughout history. The stones of the ancient monument of Stonehenge are aligned to frame the rising sun on summer solstice, and the Celtic people used to light bonfires on the longest day to boost the sun's strength for the crop season. So if you're expecting a child around this date, which is also the birthday of Prince William, you may wish to honour the sun and the summer months with your baby name choice.
